Bab 132: Girls' gang up at the hospital
Chen and Mian reached the hospital with too much in their hands. As they went in Hua's room, they saw Mrs. Xi sitting there helping her eat.
Chen immediately ran upto her and said, "Here, Mrs. Xi. Let me do it."
Mrs. Xi smiled and handed her the bowl, "How was your visit to home, dear?"
Chen: "It was very good, I even brought Hua a present."
Hua: "What? What? What did you bring?" Then her eyes fell on the pretty girl standing in the doorway. Hua exclaimed, "Don't tell me? It's Mian!?!?!?" She spilled some soup due to the excitement.
Chen scolded her lightly as she wiped it off, "Don't act like that, Hua. She is here. She won't magically disappear if you don't jump up." Chen rolled her eyes.
Mrs. Xi laughed and said, "Tell her Chen. Maybe she will listen to you. By the way, who is this pretty girl?" She asked as she beckoned Mian towards her.
Mian put down the things in her hand and introduced herself, "I'm Yu Mian. Chen's sister."
Mrs. Xi: "Oh, what a pretty child. Chen, I did not know you had a sister?"
Before Chen could reply, Hua cut in, "Why would you know mom? She's my friend, not yours." And she rolled her eyes.
Mrs. Xi lightly hit her hand and said, "You brat! You dare talk to your mother like that? You are grounded when you get out of the hospital."
Xi Hua: "What? No mom! I was just kidding. Chen, do something!!"
Yu Chen: "That's good Mrs. Xi. You should disciplin her. If not, Hua will get out of hand."
Xi Hua: "Damn you traitor!!!"
They all had a hearty laugh after which Mrs. Xi stood up. Chen asked, "You're already leaving, Mrs. Xi?"
Mrs. Xi: "I don't have to worry now that you guys are here. I'll go home. Han will be back from school soon."
Xi Hua: "Tell that brat to visit me sometime. Seems like he forgot he even has a sister."
Mrs. Xi chuckled, "I'll tell him you said hi. He was already planning to visit tomorrow as it is a Sunday."
Then Mrs. Xi left as the three girls continued chatting.
Hua ate the oranges Chen had peeled for her while Chen and Mian had the burgers Chen had bought. Though Mian and Hua had never met face to face before, they had talked on the phone and video call. Due to their outgoing and gossipy personalities, they both instantly got along.
When it was almost time for the boys to come, Chen Hua's attention was suddenly attracted to the large box. She asked, "Chen, what's in there?"
Yu Chen: "Food."
Xi Hua: "....???"
Seeing the expression on her face, Mian explained, "It's food that mom packed for us. And knowing her, she probably packed enough for three people. And don't look at me, even I don't know why aren't we eating it."
Yu Chen: "We aren't eating it because some people are coming who will kill me on the spot if they found out that I ate my mom's cooking alone."
Yu Mian: "....."
Xi Hua: "Hahaha, that sounds like Kio and Zenghai."
