Bab 129: Chapter 128: Hidden History
"So, you're a librarian?" Wu Siduo curiously asked Xiu Ye, who sat in front of her.
Xiu Ye nodded, now dressed back into his normal set of clothes, he tilted his head, "Yeah. You didn't know? I said what I wanted from the Sea God Pavilion Master in live television, so I thought you and everyone else watching me should have already known where and what I'm doing."
"Well, the broadcast had stopped the moment your group was told that you can order them to do what each of you want from them. It really infuriated a lot of people when it happened and some even complained to the Federation about it." Wu Siduo shrugged her shoulders and started eating her lunch.
Xiu Ye narrowed his eyes. 'They stopped the broadcast at that moment? Is it to protect us or protect them from any PR disasters if we asked them something impossible or they didn't want to do it?'
'I don't have much information about their personalities, I just knew them briefly after all so I can't really tell. But I'm leaning more into the latter. They're leaders of their respective big organizations. How could they handle the backlash of the entire populace of the Sun Moon Federation when they show that they, who are known to be the peak in the world, are incapable of fulfilling the wishes of a few kids? Not only would they become laughing stocks, but they would also be disdained!' As someone who's seen a lot of TV shows and understand a lot of novel plots in his previous life, Xiu Ye could somewhat predict the reasoning for the cut broadcast.
This made him more on guard of Shrek Academy, Tang Sect, Spirit Pagoda and the Federation.
Although Yun Ming and the rest of the Shrek teachers and elders were good to him and didn't do anything bad to him, though there were some who were completely annoying who pestered him to become their disciple, but after going through the great Shrek library.....
"Hey, Ye." Wu Siduo voice snapped Xiu Ye back to reality. "I'm wondering, what cultivation rank are you at now? Just curious." Not because she wanted to compete with him or anything. Nope.
He saw through her intentions and chuckled, "I'm currently at Soul Ancestor, specifically rank 45."
Wu Siduo widened her eyes and said, "Even though we're at the same age, you're much more stronger than me! As expected of the boy who repelled the members of the Holy Spirit Cult in Skysea City."
Xiu Ye chuckle turned weary and his eyebrows twitched. "Wu Siduo, do you know what rank I was when I was at Skysea three years ago? I was a Soul Ancestor, at rank 41."
Wu Siduo gasped.
He continued, saying. "In three years, I only managed to advanced four ranks of my cultivation, while my friends has already cultivated into the next major realm." He let out a saddened sigh. "Oh how the mighty has fallen."
Wu Siduo was silent. There was a moment of silence....
"You're trolling me right now, aren't you?"
"Yes. How did you know?" Xiu Ye didn't even refute.
She groaned and slumped her shoulders down. "Ugh. My mother sometimes does that to me when I either don't listen to her or I ignore her when I'm busy cultivating. I know she wants to spend time with me and all but, haa!"
Xiu Ye snickered. "My condolences."
"Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up. Now, tell me the truth."
Xiu Ye rolled his eyes and did so, "I had asked the Sea God Pavilion Master to take me in as the school librarian."
"This school has a library? They didn't show it in the brochure."
"...They have a brochure?" Xiu Ye stared dumbfounded at Wu Siduo before shaking his head and said. "So, yeah. I've been busy reading through tens of thousands of year old knowledge collected and documented by the academy, so I didn't have the time to cultivate. And even when I had the time, I used it for something else."
"....."
"So, uh, what's up with the tan? Been working out in the sun out too much?" Wu Siduo asked and nervously chuckled.
She didn't have any friends, due to her cold attitude, so she was pretty awkward talking to anyone much less a boy at her age.
This was the first time that she ever talked so much to someone other her mother!
Xiu Ye blinked his eyes and said, "Ah, no. No. This is a side effect caused by a forbidden technique I used to deal with the leader of the members of the Holy Spirit Cult that attacked Skysea City."
That was the truth. Using Zanka no Tachi was like a double edge sword; releasing his Bankai clads both his blade and his body in the flames of the Sun and unlike Genryūsai Yamamoto, who was the original owner of the Zanpakuto and a part of his soul which makes him immune to its heat; Xiu Ye only had a partial immunity to it because Ryūjin Jakka was merely a substitute martial soul and not his real one.
The flames within the blade burn anything it cuts out of existence, it was even worse because the flames had the ultimate attribute which caused it to burn certain concepts! It was a miracle he was even alive.
Having a darker skin was worth it if it means he'd live. Besides, he looked good with it anyway.
"Hey, bro! Ye!" Xiu Ye tilted his head back to the side to see Tang Wulin and the rest of his friends, all carrying their own meals, and were heading to his direction.
Xiu Ye smiled and waved back and invited to sit around his table.
Wu Siduo expression unconsciously turned cold and quiet as Tang Wulin, Xie Xie, Gu Yue, Mu Xi, Xu Xiaoyan, Ye Xinglan and Xu Lizhi all sat around the table.
They all stared at the girl, curiosity in their eyes, wondering who she was. This was the first time they ever seen her.
Na'er, Gu Yue and Mu Xi narrowed their eyes at her.
There was a moment of silence before Tang Wulin spoke and asked the new girl, "Hi! My name is Tang Wulin, an inner court student like my friends here except Ye."
"Let me introduce you to them. Xie Xie, Gu Yue, Mu Xi, Xu Xiaoyan, Ye Xinglan and Xu Lizhi." Most of them waved at her and he continued. "I haven't seen you before in the academy, are you a freshman?"
Wu Siduo nodded and replied. "Yes. My name is Wu Siduo, nice to meet you all."
Tang Wulin smiled. He glanced at Xiu Ye and then back at Wu Siduo, he then asked the former, "So Ye....judging by the interaction between you two, I'm guessing you both already know each other before?"
"Yeah. Remember three years ago when I escaped that psycho Na Nali and ended up in Star Luo City?"
"Ah..." Everyone made sounds of realization and understanding. Xiu Ye had already told them the story of how he escaped Na Nali and ended up breaking into the house of a family of two in Star Luo City years ago.
"I see....."
"Never thought you'd actually see her again."
"It makes sense. We haven't really seen Xiu Ye interact with other people before, except when he's a lunch lady like right now."
"Oi."
As everyone started laughing, the tension between Wu Siduo and them soon disappeared. Soon, they started chatting with one another about random stuff.
"Hey Xiu Ye," He turned towards Wu Siduo who had her chin place on her palms. "why did you take the librarian position and not something like a Sea God Pavilion member or something?"
Xiu Ye was quiet.
Tang Wulin and the others looked at each other before turning towards Xiu Ye.
They'd been asking about this question for a while now and they never really got a straight answer. He'd always try to deflect it or change the subject whenever it was brought up.
After a long moment, just as when they thought Xiu Ye wasn't going to respond as usual, they felt a strong fluctuation of soul power covering them. Like a dome of soul power had covered them.
Just as when they were about to stand up and attack, Xiu Ye interrupted them, saying.
"Don't worry about it, it's my doing. I just want our conversation to be private between us, and us only. Got it?" They all nodded.
"Good. Now, how much do you guys know about our history? Not everything, but mostly about twenty thousand years ago till now."
They stared at him for a moment and shared a look with each other before Gu Yue was the first one to speak.
"Mostly about the basics." She wasn't even lying as she had spent most of her time sleeping to recuperate.
The others answered the same.
Xiu Ye's expression was solemn and he spoke seriously.
"Out of pure curiosity, I checked our world history through the soul net and when I did, I found a few inconsistencies; like history had a few stories that suddenly disappeared. I quickly found out what they are in the great Shrek library."
Xu Xiaoyan gulped nervously and the others shared the same feeling. "L-Like what?"
"....Like twenty thousand years ago when the Heaven Dou Empire, Star Luo Empire and the Spirit Hall were all absorbed to form one empire. Ruled by one person, by one emperor."
They widened their eyes in shock.
How could they not? Normally this sort of knowledge was something to be forgotten about in the annals of history.
But this was different! Since twenty thousand years ago was the generation of when Tang San and the rest of the first generation Shrek Seven Monsters ascended into gods! Most of what happened during that time should have recorded most of its events!
Yet, they never knew about this! Heck, wasn't it in history that Spirit Hall was destroyed by Tang San?
"What's going on?"
"Are you sure about this, Xiu Ye?"
"Couldn't it have been a mistake?"
"Although I'm not that verse in history, but I'm pretty sure that there shouldn't have been such an empire during that time."
Xiu Ye shook his head. "No. Normally, you guys would have been right but this is the library of Shrek Academy we're talking here. Do you really think they'll put a false information about history, especially in the first rise of the academy?"
Listening to his reasoning, they nodded. He was right. This was Shrek Academy. No one would put up false information about their first glory in history, they would be laughed at or be punished if found!
So for this knowledge to still be in the library, it couldn't be false!
"Then Ye, what's so important about this empire?" Na'er said.
"It isn't just the empire I'm talking about. But to tell you honestly, I don't know. The name of the empire wasn't recorded down in the books."
"Then why bring it up." Mu Xi raised an eyebrow.
"It's the emperor, who's important." Xiu Ye sighed as Wu Siduo interrupted.
"Why?"
"Because of all the stories and knowledge that I had read through the great library, this person was the most important and shocking of all human history in the last twenty thousand years. He was regarded as history's strongest emperor!"
Their bodies shook as they widened their eyes.
The strongest emperor!
"This was what was written and only information about this mysterious emperor;
"He was the one who united the three nations into one, while others failed."
"While others were more concerned about fighting and war, he innovated and changed the system for the people; ordinary and soul masters alike."
"With flames born from heaven and earth, so powerful that he incinerated gods, demons and immortals alike. Defying fate and destiny, twisting space-time and traveled through a myriad of worlds with his own power for the sake of finding the ones he loved."
"He came, he saw, he conquered all."
"His will is eternal. He is Douluo's first and final emperor."
