Bab 108: Rollercoasters Rides

"Either way, I'm glad that you guys are here," Snow replied.

To have more people fighting alongside them, who were a bit more powerful than the group that she brought with him, assured her that they were going to survive. It wasn't that the group she brought back with her wasn't strong; in all honesty, they have grown tremendously in the short period that she was with them.

Snow believed that they were able to contend with the strongest Players.

"Same, I was a bit worried that we wouldn't meet you guys any time soon," said Snow. Even though she went by instinct, there were times when she felt as if she was throwing everything to chance. Still, she was glad that everything so far came out okay.

A mischievous chuckle echoed. Players snapped towards the voice, wondering where it came from.

From thin air, a mysterious force of energy appeared from above. Everyone looked up, wondering who or what it was.

What appeared before them was a small hedgehog that wrapped its whole body around a green gem. Its tiny little fingers clasped tightly as the gem glowed a mesmerizing blend of sea green and deep blue.

At first, everyone gazed around, trying to find the voice as the small creature floating in the air didn't seem like the culprit. One would have thought the dungeon was joking with them.

"The dungeon core!" Red pointed out flabbergasted, staring at the hedgehog that looked too adorable to be in such a dingy and dirty place.

Snow thought that such a cute creature would be a fan hit on the web at how it curled around so cutely. It looked so harmless that it threw Snow off.

A sudden squeak from the hedgehog voice cracked out, but it coughed a few times, bringing up the gem closer to its mouth. Somehow a deep voice spoke out from the gem, bringing everyone's attention to it.

"I am the final game master." The hedgehog bobbed in the air, "Beat me, and you are free. It's simple as that."

One of the Players spoke out, "Did that cute animal just say it was the final game master?"

"Yea?"

The Players murmured across the groups, staring at the hedgehog in confusion.

"It seems you don't believe me." The hedgehog needles on its back bristled at not being taken seriously. "Fine." With a flash of green light, the magic swirled around him dangerously. A pop sound followed after, bringing with it an uncomfortable silence.

For a moment, Snow waited patiently, wondering what the hedgehog was trying to pull. It wasn't like she had forgotten the danger of any of the games these crazy beings gave out. At most, she was waiting for what the hedgehog wanted to say and the rules before acting.

Suddenly, the clunking of the roller coaster cart could be heard, crunching into gear. A loud screech followed as the first roller coaster appeared before them.

"The final game is simple. Ride on the rollercoaster and go through three full circuits without dying, but only nine people are allowed on a ride, meaning if all nine die, you have to start all over again."

A burst of sinister laughter erupted on its bubbly little lips, which did not fit its persona.

Some of the Players couldn't help but chuckle, and a few of the girl Players swooned at its cute demeanor.

Even Snow was almost swayed by its cutesy villainess act, which she had to forcefully suppress.

"You can only attack the Ryzar when it's barrier is down, but you must remember," a hedgehog spoke with a lingering ugly laugh that didn't fit the image of its cuteness. One would have thought he had choked on a frog by how it threw its head and coughed. "You only have a certain time before the barrier comes back up." His lingering message made everyone uncomfortable.

Snow knew that they were being played with. She could see the look in his beady black eyes that was laughing at their predicament. The number of crazy things that the hedgehog has stated completely boggled her mind.

Ride the rollercoaster to attack the monster? Defend? What? Was she hearing him, right? For a moment, she thought she got hit with some kind of mind magic.

Quickly, she whirled her magic around her tightly, scanning her body, and even her mind to make sure she wasn't charmed or put under a curse.

She found nothing.

Snow blitzed towards the hedgehog. Appearing in front of him in a matter of seconds. Her gold eyes dangerously stared at him with a bit of livid craze. She could see the green crystal embedded straight in his chest.

The energy around it pulsated with power. Snow could feel the power from it becoming stronger, telling her that the hedgehog was pulling its power from the gem itself, and fueling up. It was becoming uncomfortably unbearable to be around in that split moment.

Her hand reached to her waist, pulling out her sword in one fluid stroke. With a flash, the sword edges sliced straight towards the gem. Instantly, the hedgehog disappeared.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." The hedgehog said he was flying up in the air as his body faded in and out. "I'm not going to let you destroy my crystals so easily."

Snow sheathed her sword back into her sheathe, she glared.

"Now, let's get this game on its way." The hedgehog shrugged. He then clucked his little teeth, making close to a grinding of teeth sound. "Welcome, Ryzar, our amusement park mascot!"

A black warp gate appeared below his small feet. It got more significant to the point where a clawed foot stepped out from the very gates, bringing a large, hairy, fluffy body of a bird. One would have believed it was a bird mascot if it was a smaller size, but it completely overshadowed anything like it. The height of Ryzar could equate to the height of the tallest roller coasters that surrounded them.

A long neck that resembled close to an ostrich, large fluffy black and white body with a tinge of brown on its feather. It squawked, lifting up its wings as it rattled its feathers out widely into mesmerizing fans. Thousands of eyes appeared on its feather, closely resembling a peacock. Six more eyes opened upon its head, giving it an imitating look.

Ryzar fluffed up its wings, dancing its strange dance. The ground trembled, causing everyone to dodge and brace themselves until it finally settled down.

From the shadows of Ryzar, it shivered and morphed, changing into different shapes. Smaller versions of the bird mascots, HilEyes, of itself stepped out from its shadows, numbering past five hundred.

The surrounding area became crowded, making it a bit more cramped than before.

Snow shouted, "Get the archers, offensive magic castors, and gunmen to the rollercoaster!" She waved her sword around her, taking a few of the HilEyes' heads off.

The stunned Players all quickly went into motion, realizing what they were dealing with.

Ryzar let out a high pitch screech, its eyes on its feather glowed with magic. Suddenly, each and every one of its eyes shot out a beam of light.

Unsuspecting Players were shot in the legs, arms, and even their chest, falling down onto the ground dead. The number of people that died was over a hundred that were close to Ryzar's attack. Anything further back was lucky enough to escape without being injured as the beam of lights wasn't strong enough to reach that far.

Snow magic flared to life, protecting herself just in time as the light bounced off her magical shield.

She was lucky that it didn't hit her squarely in the head. She would have died instantly.

Mike sprinted to the rollercoasters, heading straight to jump in, but was stopped as a group of nine Players, who were nearby, strapped themselves in.

With a clunk, the rollercoaster moved.

"Everyone fall back! Get into formation!" Rodney yelled, he prepared his sword, then faced Ryzar, a reasonable distance apart. His magic swirled around his hand, moving fluidly into the very sword, making it red.

The Players scrambled into a chaotic action as they finally brought order into their ranks, taking down a handful of the HilEyes around them.

Snow swiftly advanced, already knowing where she needed to strike. Another Bird monster fell dead on the floor, unable to flair out its wings to daze her.

Some even held their ground and made no attempt to evade her sword. When she was less than four yards away, HilEyes screeched. A flash of its wings puffed up, hitting Snow directly in her mind, numbing her for a split moment.

A sharp pain erupted dashed through her mind. She squinted, her sword sliced the HilEyes right wing. HilEyes squawked, using its beak to stab her in the chest.

Snow instincts screamed, she raised up her hand and stopped its attack without looking. Her arm shook, momentarily, but her sword slashed across its body, spilling blood.

A line of steel flashed towards another HilEyes, taking another down in one stroke.

Everything was a blur of lines and hazy mist, her body danced amid the HilEyes that continued to strike her down. Snow didn't know how long or how many she had slain. Her feet kept rushing forward, barely getting out of harm's way by a few hair breaths that she thought she heard a few gasps from the Players.

"Keep holding out!" Rodney yelled, his sword clashing in rapid succession.

The HilEyes were congregating around Snow and Rodney, trying to take out the two as they were the ones that brought the most trouble to the surrounding monsters. It wasn't just one or two that fell down dead, but many as their swords were swimming through the bodies of enemies and allies alike.

Ryzar barely moved far from its little area, it was as if it was purposely embolized in the small little spot, giving the people a bit of a breather. But even still, its squawks and pecked at the passing players on the roller coasters, taking out a few at a time.

At first, the first trip around was uneventful as the Players on the ground kept most of Ryzar's attention. It wasn't until halfway through the second trip that the Ryzar's' focus changed directly at the rollercoaster.

It's wicked beak, smashed against the speeding cart, killing a few in the back passenger seats.

Screams of horror and outrage mixed together as the Players themselves couldn't really dodge out of harm's way because they were strapped in for safety.

Once again, Ryzar attacked, its beak crunching a few passengers in seconds. Its head swiveled and snapped, taking out the rest.

With a loud, rickety squeak, the roller coaster came back to the entrance--empty and bloodied.
