Bab 43: Andalas (2)
We have been traveled for 2 hours and there aren't any problem that occurred. Except Lady Sophia threw up because of nausea. I use 'Cure' to remove her sickness for a while. I need to use it from time to time to prevent her throws up again.
"Thank you, Vin, for helping my Lady."
"Don't worry, I just do what I can do."
Even Sam who hostile to me gives his gratitude. He really cares about Sophia.
"I'm sorry for showing something unsightly to you Vin."
"No problem Lady Sophia."
Honestly, I slightly disturbed though, seeing her throw up from close distance is enough to make me vomit too. But I managed to hold back my urge to puke at that moment.
If I said that to Sophia, Sam probably will grill me as a lunch menu. I don't want to lose my golden ticket to get into the Academy after all.
I think the previous bandit will show up again, but I can't see them anywhere.

Finally, I can see the city from a distance. The city shapes are square guarded with a thick stone wall that stood around 5 meters. The city size is quite big maybe around 100 kilometers square.
The city located in the middle of the plains so it's looks very spacious. Different from the city on Earth which is very crowded. On the Westside, there is a big river the same as the river that I followed.
I can see some buildings higher than the city's walls. Their roof looks like Medieval House in the portrait on History book. I learn various things in that facility so I know it.
If this world is like the Medieval Era, maybe a lot of bad things happened here. I never enter the city in this world but I have a bad premonition.
Slave.
Maybe I will find slaves when I enter the city. As a person from the modern era, I can't accept this slave concept.
Not only because back on Earth there weren't any slaves, but this slave thing makes me remember my 'helplessness' when I decide to become an assassin.
I want to erase this slavery from this world, but that's would be very HARD.
I can buy slaves and free them, but I need a lot of MONEY to rescue them all. Not to mention, they won't become independent instantly from me and cost me more money to take care of them.
If I just save one slave because of pity, this makes me look like a mediocre person. I can't save just one and I am on the 'right' side. But it still better than do nothing.
If I want to erase slavery, I must have high authority to make people follow my order. To get authority isn't very easy you know.
Maybe If I was a noble I can forbid slavery on my territory. But sadly I'm not a noble.
Or If I was an S-ranked adventurer, I can do something. But I don't have godly power to climb to S-rank
Or if I was a King, I can make a rule where slavery is prohibited. But I can't imagine myself become a king even in my dream
Let's stop thinking that now. Even I think about it, nothing will change.
I will focus on my mission now.
As reference Listel Kingdom (my origin) is located in the south of the Evandel Kingdom. This boy runs to the north and kidnapped by the bandit on the way.
Liston (the city where I escort Olivia) is the nearest city from the Listel Kingdom which means that the city is near the borderline between 2 kingdoms. And I travel to the northwest to reach Andalas.
We will enter the south gate. I can see several carriages waiting on the line for inspection. Upon closer look, I can see this city is freaking huge. The giants wall gives an intimidating feeling.
I wonder what will Althea look like if a normal city like this?
After waiting several minutes, finally, our turn comes. There are 6 royal guards in front of the gate. They wear full-body armor with Golden star crest on the breastplate. When I escort Olivia, I can't see the city's guard clearly because our distance is quite far.
"Excuse me, we will check your wagon and your identity before entering the city."
"Yes please."
Sam let them do the inspection and he takes out a paper from the treasure chest.
The guard checks the goods inside and checks under the wagon. Then they do a body check to us. Fortunately, I hide my katana inside the storage pouch and I give it to Sam to hold that for a moment.
I don't want to get trouble because holding that storage pouch and get interrogated like usual.
"Your wagon is clear, now show your identity card."
Sam give the paper to one of them and give his Identity card too.
"I see, this is an original merchant license. Your id card is good too. How about these kids?"
"I am their guardian and I will take responsibility for them."
"Okay, but remember to watch them. We don't want them to cause trouble inside the city."
"Sure."
After that, he gives the paper and identity card to Sam.
As the adventurer who escorts us, they just show their Adventurer card and get the permission instantly.
It must be nice to be an adventurer, isn't it?
