Bab 13: Chapter 12
Kaige's P.O.V.
"Xyris is a friend of mine. I would love to provide you the necessary information however that is not really my story to tell."
Kumuyom ang kamao ko sa isinagot nito.
"Rogues are after her! She is in my territory and without proper knowledge on why those rogues are after her, then how do you think I can make a move to protect her?" I growled impatiently. This bastard is making me lose my patient faster than my mate can.
"It is not necessary for you to protect her. I'll be there first thing tomorrow to fetch her." Mahinahong paliwanag nito.
Lalo lamang umigting ang pagkairita ko sa winika nito. Humigpit ang kamay kong nakahawak sa telepono.
I am supposed to be grateful that the woman will leave the island first thing tomorrow. Having my mate in my territory makes me feel anxious despite the fact that I cannot feel the matebond. However, for some reason the thought of Xyris leaving Duskfall Island is making me feel rebellious. It is as if someone is going to take something important away from me.
"Xyris is not leaving Duskfall until the threat has been cleared. She's in my territory therefore I own her. Now, if you are not going to give me the information I needed, I am prohibiting you to set foot on Duskfall territory." May diing wika ko bago patayin ang telepono.
Kumuyom ang kamao ko sa galit. I am angry! To who? I don't know! All I know is my wolf starts to feel edgy the moment we learned that Xyris's life is in danger.
'Xavier, bring Xyris to my office. Now!' Mindlink ko sa aking beta.
I can feel that he nodded through our link. I take few deep breaths to calm myself. I don't care if I need to threaten her just to make her talk. I'm going to get the information I needed from her before this day ends.

Xyris's P.O.V.
I knocked twice on the wooden door before opening it. Unang bumungad sa aking ang seryosong mukha ni Kaige. Anger is visible in his eyes making the atmosphere inside the office feel suffocating.
"You summoned me?" I ask as I starts to take small steps towards him. I don't know what happened to him before I came here but if I'm going to base it from the murderous look on his face. I'm gonna conclude that it is not a good one.
"I want to know everything you knew about the rogue who's after you." Diretsong tanong nito.
Napabuntonghininga na lang ako. Now we are back to that square one. I take the seat in front of his and eyed him with irritation.
"Kung alam ko lang kung sino siya, ako mismo ang pupunta sa kanya upang komprontahin ito." Iritableng sagot ko rito.
Bahagya akong napapitlag ng sutukin nito ang ibabaw ng mesa. Leaving a small crack on it. Damn! This man has serious anger issues.
"Listen Xyris, Raven is not coming anymore to save you. I don't care if I need to keep you as a prisoner in this Island! You will stay in my territory until I can make sure that you are no threat to my pack. You are not leaving this island!" Mariing wika nito.
Anger flooded me when his words sink in. I stand up from my seat and grab neckline of his shirt. This guy is completely unreasonable!
"Listen Kaige, how many times do I need to tell you that my life is none of your fucking business! I have nothing to do with your pack, this is my shit to deal with and I don't need you meddling on it just because you think I am a threat to you and to your fucking pack!" I bursted in anger.
Kaige grabs my hand, pulling me closer to him despite of the table between us. I flinch a bit due to the sudden electricity that I feel when his skin touches mine.
"Do you expect me to believe that after your mini outburst with my father in the café?" His eyes is purely dark and dangerous. I'm pretty sure that if another person is in my position at the moment, he or she is probably dead by now. I'm quite thankful that I am his mate, he won't hurt me. Atleast not physically.
Hiniklas ko ang kamay ko mula rito.
"I- it was nothing..." It came out just a whisper. I can't afford to tell him what I really am. I don't know if I can trust him with my real identity. He is my mate yes, but I knew nothing about him. He is a complete stranger.
He was about to say something when a knock from the door interrupted us. "Alpha, the rogue has been captured." Tinig ng beta nito mula sa labas ng pinto.
"Yeah, I'll be there in a minute. Make sure that he won't escape." Sagot nito.
Kumuyom ang kamao ko. Now is the right time for me to find who is the person behind those threat.
"You will stay in your room until I say so. I'll send Annalise to accompany you." Wika ni Kaige na nagpabalik ng tingin ko rito.
"And where do you get the idea that you have control over me?" May halong galit na asik ko rito.
He just give me a smirk. He leans and trace my lower lip with his thumb. Bahagya akong natigilan sa iginawi nito. "You are my mate therefore I have the right to every inch of you..." He whispered, making me stunned for a moment. "Stay in your room, we'll talk later after I deal with those bastard who wanted to dared harm my mate." His eyes never left my lips as he speak. I wanted to push him away but our close distance is making my rational side unreachable.
His husky voice caught me off guard. Before I could even react to it. He was already out of the room.

Kaige's P.O.V.
My steps echoed throughout the narrow hallway of the basement. The place where we held few captives (rogues) who dared step foot on my territory. Sinalubong ako ni Xavier pagpapasok ko sa kulungan kung saan nakagapos ang isang lalaki. He look like a mess, from the looks of it, I can already tell that Xavier gave him a hardtime.
Dumako ang tingin ko sa isa pang lalaki na nasa silid. Tumaas ang kilay ko rito. "And who invited you here?"
Brandon just smirk at me in return. "C'mon, I'm technically Xyris bestfriend here so I invited myself in case you need help with torturing this mutt." Wika nito.
Naningkit ang mata ko rito. As much as I want to throw him away from my Island, I'm pretty sure my sister will hate me if I kill his mate.
Ibinaling ko ang tingin ko sa lalaking nakagapos ng kadena. He is watching us with amusement. Kuyom ang kamaong humakbang ako rito.
Isang suntok sa sikmura ang pinawalan ko dahilan upang malugmok ito sa maalikabok na sahig. The man coughed blood but I can't bring myself to feel pity. Bagkus ay lalo lang akong nakaramdam ng pagkayamot rito.
Hinila ko ang kwelyo nito upang humarap sa akin. "Now, who sent you and why are you after her?" May diing tanong ko rito. He let out a smirk instead of answering my question. Realizing that he does not have a plan to talk. I throw is limp body on the floor and have Brandon and Xavier deal with him. I watch him bleed red as the two beta's force him to talk.
