"Gar bad! He to be punished for his lateness!" His booming voice erupted from his mouth. He motions for another goblin to approach Gar. The goblin lashes out with a bundle of rose thorn stems and lavenders. Which raked and slapped against Gar as he yelped a little.
Gar winced and gagged at the smell of the bundle of horrid scent. The smell stung so much it caused his eyes to water. It was the most horrible thing to be done to a goblin. To make them smell pretty. With a laugh the goblin with the roses turned and returned to his duties.
"Disappointed in Gar!" The giant goblin spoke as he wiped what looked like his morning feast from his hideous lips and the drool that was almost starting to plaster on his horrendous looking face.
Gar spoke quickly "Gar sorry! Gar sleep too long!" Gar adjusted his loincloth, noticing it was a little off the mark to cover himself. He was in the presence of royalty after all. Besides the rather hideous look of the royalty in question.
"Give Gar orders!" the Goblin King said, dismissing Gar's apology with a wave of his large meaty hands that looked way too slimy and would just cake someone in it if he were to touch them. A goblin then rushed over with a small slab of rock that had a poorly drawn figure going to the castle atop the mountain. And in another just as poorly drawn shape of a jewel.
"Get jewel, you come back" the King bellowed then let out a loud belch that was saliva filled and echoed across the chamber. A small rabbit ear even flopped out of his mouth and fell to his feet. It must've been stuck in his teeth from his breakfast.
The king then let out gasp as he looked down at the rabbit ear. "That's where Fluffy went." He stared down at the ear then put it back in his mouth and began to chew on it. "Fluffy was good pet! Very good!" He sniffed with a chuckle and licked his large jowls from the taste of his pet rabbit.
Gar stared at the king with a displeased look that explored the question of why his race would follow such an unintelligent creature. He felt as if he had a smarter understanding of more around him than other goblins. Like he could see the rights and wrongs of things unlike his kin. He then sighed and with a nod of acceptance to his fate he said. "Gar, Do orders."
The King clapped his large slimy hands together making a very wet and disgusting sound and cheered loudly. "Good Gar." He then turned his head and yelled. "Dob get gear!" The goblin that smacked Gar with the bundle of flowers scurried off into a tunnel.
Gar and the goblin king stared at one another for what seemed like a few long minutes. The large goblin gave a sigh and then with a small groan he let out a long and very low break of wind that went on for a near minute. With the two just staring at each other what seem like the most awkward of eternities. Gar eyes went wide in sudden realization of what that was. Then scrambled behind a large rock with the chamber. For a moment all was calm and then a sudden rush of air erupted from the large creature causing the fat on him to clap thunderously around. If it weren't for the rock he hid behind that was too large to even move. The rush of air would have surely sent Gar's small green body against the cave wall or even straight down the entrance tunnel to possibly plummet down the mountain ending his small pitiful life. The rush of air stopped and with a laugh almost like a giggle that had come from the goblin king as he patted his belly. Gar thanked whatever spirit of the mountain was looking after him. That helped him realize the danger that sound was.
Gar came out from behind the rock and looked at the chambers around everything that was near the king was now either against the wall or was down the tunnels. Possibly starting to pile up near the openings. The clatter of items being pushed through signaled the goblin named Dob returning. Dob walked over and handed Gar a small dagger and small length of rope with a rusty worn hook attached to it. The items looked as if to be cursed to snap if he were to ever use them for any sort of use at all.
Gar ruby eyes flicked to Dob, then to the goblin king, then back to his assigned gear. The gear seemed very lacking and he then tried to speak out about his items. But decided not to..
"Why Jewel?" Gar decided it was best to ask a question rather than complain about the lack of tools given to him. It was probably better to ask the question then to die before ever leaving the cave at all. An accident with the items was the better way to go in this case. The goblin king then said. "Jewel is nice! Shiny and go good in head ring." He pointed to his crown barely atop sitting his head. Gar wondered how it had not fallen off with the rush of winds that erupted from the king. "Need shinies for head ring!" He said with a low but excited goblin squeal. The goblin king looked more like an excited child than a mighty force to be faced.
Gar gave his rope and hook a tug to test its stability but decided it might be better to use for combat other than for climbing. He then looked closer at the dagger and noticed it was a little rusted and had notches in the blade. He felt that they had given him the bad stuff.
The goblins of the Spine never liked Gar. They saw him as an outcast due to his opposition to color. Gar was a green goblin with ruby eyes while the goblins in the Spine were all red skinned with emerald green eyes. Gar was born from normal red skinned parents with a defect as it would seem to the other goblins. But Gar never knew such parents of his. And as far as he could remember he never had parents. Just one day he woke up in a large forest clearing at the base of the mountain and found a small abandoned cave to dwell within. And that was the first thing he could remember. Which then later found out that the range was ruled by the fat king and was immediately told he was to follow the king's orders.
Gar tucked the small blade to his waist string then wrapped the rope around him from left shoulder to his right hip. Another day as the Spines most miserable errand goblin it seems. He was truly becoming rather tired of all of it but if he wanted to keep his life and cave. He had no choice but to abide by the orders of the fat king.
Gar bowed begrudgingly to the goblin king and turned to leave. Before he could fully exit the chamber. The king of the goblins spoke loudly to him from his throne. "Not disappoint me Gar. Not disappoint!" He sighed deeply then continued. He really couldn't make a promise of that. Since he was sure the goblin king would expect more and more. No matter how good of a job he would perform. So it was best to just sigh and be done with it all.
Gar stepped through the tunnel and exited the cave. He looked out to the morning sky and the sun was just starting to rise more into the bright Azerian sky. With a sigh he started to head onwards to his mission to find a jewel for the goblin king of Shara's Spine. But what he did not know was that the venture he had ahead of him was more than he was expecting and quite miserable to become.
