It didn't take much time at all to deal with the last goons. It took far more time for Kai and Tokoyami to find something to tie them up with than it did to knock them out. Neither of them had any rope or convenient cloth on hand, so Kai summoned two zerglings to rip some wires out of the walls of the buildings around them.
It wasn't going to be so different from handcuffs, anyways.
Kai had no doubt in his mind that these were expendable grunts just here to deal with the kids. Even if they had done their research, they didn't know about Kai at all. Otherwise, they would have come prepared.
Or at least tried to work with him. It wouldn't have worked out, but they really should have tried to turn him to their side.
After all goons were wired with their wrists together, Kai summoned a changeling.
"This guy will go with you so that we can keep in contact. If I need to tell you anything, it'll appear on its hands," he said.
"Alright. Where first?"
"The only place I would have a hard time helping people out happens to be next door- the flood zone. We'll see what needs to be done there while I check out everywhere else. So, ready?" Kai asked, holding his fist out towards Tokoyami.
They bumped fists and split up. Tokoyami went with the changeling for the exit, while Kai went to the nearest building, leaving the villains behind him in the rain. Once inside, he found a space to sit down. This was likely now the safest place to be right now. Of course, he could have gone out with Tokoyami and hid in the trees between the disaster zones, but that had more risk while his Quirk was being used at max capacity.
Sitting cross-legged in a dark, empty room, Kai pressed his hands to the floor and let his eyes burn bright purple. A wave of six, then another of seven zerglings burst out of the floor and split up. They didn't bother with opening the door to the area, tearing it apart so that they had plenty of space to run through at once.
Then, all ran back inside except two, which went directly to the plaza to assess Aizawa's situation. A second later, the rest all burst through the ruined doorway at top speed.
Six cut directly through the central plaza to the ruins, landslide, and mountain zones. Along the way, two of them leapt over and on top of random thugs' heads, giving them whiplash and taking them out of the fight.
At top speed, zerglings are as fast as cars. Nobody had time to do more than wonder what the heck passed by them.
One Zergling almost pulled a u-turn, heading to meet up with the other at the top of the stairs at the entrance, slowing down in the process just enough for some to realize what had jumped over them before.
Two joined Tokoyami at the edge of the water at the flood zone, and the last two went to the conflagration zone.
Now Kai had eyes on every main area in USJ.
Just as quickly as they got there, the two that went to the landslide area divided themselves between the ruins and mountain zones. As soon as they had reached the landslide area, they found that the battle was already over. Todoroki had been sent there alone. It seemed that he had had more goons to deal with, but without anyone else to worry about, he had simply frozen everything in place. His ease of crowd control truly was something to envy.
The fact that there were so many goons there was a bit perplexing. If there were so many there, then shouldn't Kai and Tokoyami have had more to deal with? With that in mind, Kai dismissed the one that was headed for the ruins zone to resummon at his side.
The ideal answer was that everyone wanted to see All Might fall and split according to the zones that would both help them fight and give them a good view. The worst answer would be if there were more getting ready to take on Kai's main body. Better to be safe.
However, more evidence seemed to point to the former, as he found another large group of goons on the top of the mountain. There were almost three dozen goons circling around a group of three students. As three zerglings took the high ground on a spire of rock above them, their sharp eyes identified them as Kaminari, Jiro, and Yaoyorozu.
Things were looking a little dangerous. They were fighting with staff, sword and electricity, but had only downed two with Kaminari's first attack. After that, they had been more wary of him, and used their reach to keep him on his toes without entering his range.
"Materia and Pulse are both there, they should have gotten more done by now. A pleasant surprise for Pulse to know her way around a sword, but still, why isn't…" Kai muttered.
They must be waiting for something. It couldn't be help, they didn't have the time for that. Maybe the situation just stunned them enough to not come up with a coherent plan. Well, it was the first time fighting for their lives, so it was somewhat to be expected.
Kai directed one Zergling to creep slowly down the mountain. His friends were a little too busy to pay attention to them, and it would give them a bit more time to do whatever they were planning, if they had a plan at all. But they were running out of time, and he couldn't let anything happen to them.
Suddenly, the zerglings heard a shout from below.
"I'm ready!" Yaoyorozu called out.
At the same time, she burst her costume as a large sheet shimmered into existence from her back. She and Jiro covered themselves with it as she explained briefly to Kaminari.
"You're looking at a 100mm insulating sheet. Kaminari, it's your turn!"
He needed no further prompting.
"In that case, I'm super strong!!" he yelled as he unleashed a burst of electricity. With a flash of light, everything within twenty meters was electrocuted. Every single villain, and Kai's Zergling, fell to the ground unconscious. The other one that had remained on the mountain's peak narrowly escaped, allowing Kai a bird's eye view of the aftermath.
Every villain had turned black as the hairs on their body turned to charcoal. Kaminari showed the price of his power, absentmindedly walking back and forth with a thumb up and a dumb look on his face.
Impressive. Yaoyorozu had planned well, even with the stress of the situation. Kaminari's output was likewise impressive. If only he didn't have that limit- needing to choose between range and his mind. He'd probably recover after a few minutes, but that glass cannon ability…
"Kaminari needs an upgrade," Kai muttered to himself.
Meanwhile, on the other side of USJ, there was an explosion of water as Deku, Asui, and Mineta soared from the ship in the middle of the flood zone to the shore. Deku had sacrificed one finger to create a void that pulled all of the villains in their area in. Mineta's stickers bound them all together.
Kai smiled. At least he didn't try to make use of his new training. Since he hadn't been successful yet, it was definitely better to use what he could rely on, even if it cost a finger.
Three zones cleared.
So, turns out the hurricane did as much as the last three I've been home for did. Which is basically nothing. I saw stars last night before going to sleep, and it just now started to rain. My ancestors picked the right side of the island to live on.
And the storm got weaker as it made its approach, but I still stand by what I said.
Anyways, thought you ought to know. So, here's another chapter.
See you tomorrow!
