I head inside to eat my breakfast and sleep for a little while longer after Mekhi texts me he's made it back home. Waking up a quarter to twelve, I text the twins and tell them to prepare to leave. After a quick shower and face wash, I go to pick up the twins. When we get home we make sure everything is cleaned and wait for our parents' arrival.
"How was your guys' weekend," I ask the twins as we sit at the kitchen table eating my leftover breakfast from this morning and lunch that Jackson bought for me yesterday.
"Mine was alright, I got a lot of the script memorized and my lines rehearsed. I'm feeling pretty confident about my audition," Journee says sharing her thoughts first.
"That's good! I'm sure you'll rock that audition," I say to her encouragingly.
"Same! Anyway the guys and I planned out the camping trip over spring break and played video games until we passed out really. What about you Na Na, what did you do," Jackson asks.
"I sat in here for a few hours without you guys studying, then Mekhi ended up inviting me to a party on campus. So we partied and...I went back to his place because I didn't want to come back here and be alone," I say to them truthfully even though I didn't want them to know that I spent the night with him.
"OH…I hope you guys protected yourselves," Jackson blurts out.
"Good grief, it wasn't that type of night and even if it were I can take care of myself. Thank you for that though, Jackson," I say through the shock I feel.
"Then, what did you do? Just sit up and talk to each other all night," he asks.
"Basically and watch TV. His place is massive," I say to him.
"There's more to a relationship than sex Jackson," Journee says defending me.
"Exactly," I say.
"Well duh, but the way you guys look at each other it's like that when you're finally alone that's the first thing that you guys would do," he says defensively.
"I understand what you're saying, however we've decided to take it slow and get to know each other more. No matter how attracted you are to someone you should set rules and boundaries with your body and practice safe sex all the time," I say going into the sex talk speech.
"I know, I know…you don't have to start repeating Mom and Dad," he says.
"I'm just saying, I know I talk to you guys about my personal life and have been as honest as I can possibly be. It's all to help you guys to learn and grow from my experiences however I will not be discussing my sex life with you," I say to them.
"And we really don't want to hear about it. I was just saying to be safe, we're not babies anymore," Jackson says.
"Well…I apologize for being defensive," I say to him.
"We're good. I know you're just looking out for me," Jackson says.
"Thank you. I did choose to accept him though," I say to them.
"Well what does that mean? I thought you were already dating," Jackson asks.
"We are, but there's something more. I can't share it with you guys until after spring break when Mom and Dad finds out first," I say to them.
"You're not getting ready to marry the guy already are you," Jackson says standing.
"No, it's not that. It's complicated though…you'll know soon enough," I say.
"Alright," Jackson says sitting back down.
"Na Na knows what she's doing just trust her," Journee says finding her voice after Jackson and I have already gone back and forth.
"Honestly, I don't know for certain. I'm just taking a chance on love and myself and putting the energy out into the universe that I want returned to me," I say to them.
"Well we'll support you either way, you know that," Journee says.
"Thank you," I say to them.
"What time is Mom and Dad coming home," Jackson asks.
"They should be here in the next hour. Mom said that we'll be having dinner at Dad's tonight," I inform them.
"Do we need to do anything before they get here," Journee asks.
"We've already made sure that everything was cleaned and did our laundry so I guess we can just chill out until they get here," I say to them.
With that we clean up the rest of our lunch, the dishes we've used, and wipe the table down. When that's done we all go our separate ways within the house. I go to my room and play some music on my speaker as I start texting the girls.
Me: Heyyyyyy
Rylie: Heyy
Susu: Hey!
Nova: Hey Hey!
Me: How was everyone's weekend?
Susu: Other than work mine was good, can't complain. What about you?
Nova: I'm still at Devin's place…my weekend is still going on lol
Rylie: I'm just watching TV…obviously you had a good weekend
Me: Yeah, I did I'm not going to lie! I spent the night with Mekhi…we didn't do anything but it was like heaven all the same…he took me to a party on campus
Nova: Whattttt??
Rylie: No invite!
Susu: …
Me: I didn't know I was going to a party until he got here last night
Rylie: So you slept in the same bed and nothing happened???
Me: I mean there was a lot of kissing and touching…I mean a hell of a whole lot of it, in the end he
respects me enough to wait. I'm glad he doesn't pressure me, in fact he's the voice of reason…I almost died last night lol
Nova: Good for him! You'll be alright.
Rylie: That takes strength!
Susu: Yeah, it does!
Me: I'm so ready for spring break!
Nova: Same!
Susu: Right!
Rylie: I was ready yesterday!!!
Me: We've really gotta study this week to get good midterm scores!
Rylie: Yeah, I know…so make some room for us in that busy schedule of yours!
Nova: Yeah, let's study together…
Susu: Just let me know the days and time
Me: Sound good, we can change up study spots for a change of scenery as well
Nova: Yeah, that'd be cool, we'll already be studying there's no need to have the same surroundings
everyday
Rylie: Sounds like a plan to me
Me: Cool, let's do the evenings around like 5pm, so we can all do what we need and have time to go home for dinner as well
Susu: It works for me for a few days
Rylie: I'm good with the time
Nova: Same, we can meet at the café first tomorrow?
Me: Cool! I'll ttyl my parents are texting that they're five minutes away
Nova: Cool
Susu: Ttyl
Rylie: Later y'all!
After putting my phone on the charger, I let the twins know that our parents are about to arrive. We straighten our appearance and wait for them in the family room. As soon as we hear noise outside the door, I go to open the door for them and Jackson grabs their luggage. Mom comes through the door first hugging us both before moving on to Journee. Dad does the same as he comes through the door. We help them put their belongings away and we all go into the kitchen for a chat with our parents. However, Mom says that she wants to rest and freshen up before we chat and Dad naturally follows her. The twins and I are all confused by their behavior, but shrug it off and return to our rooms.
