Dear Mrs. Dale Barber,
Remember your debut party?
I was so eagerly waiting for that day.
You know why?
I wanted to be your escort and last dance.
I was looking forward to dancing with you and asking you if I can formally court you.
But then my Dad just had to interfere and order me to escort you.
You know how I hated it when he orders me to do things.
I know it's a lame excuse for making you cry on your birthday.
And I know a single white rose would never make up for it.
But seeing you smile when you saw that rose more than made up for the guilt that I felt.
I knew then that I was forgiven.
And now I just hope that even for a second, I made you smile with the roses that I sent you.
