Bab 147: Special Reward

Xia Ruoxue's mother had investigated Ye Chen's past, and knew that he had been nothing special back then. However, that five-year blank period seemed to have changed everything.

"You came to me just to say these words?"

Ye Chen said calmly, "If there's nothing else, then I'm leaving."

Ye Chen was about to get up when she continued, "Were you aware that Ruoxue has a marriage arrangement with the Qin family?"

Ye Chen's body froze and he sat back down. 

"Marriage arrangement? Why haven't I heard Ruoxue mention it before?"

"This was decided a long time ago. If a major family wants to survive and ensure its peace and stability, they have to rely on martial strength. This is the weakness of the Xia family."

"Of course, the Xia family has a few experts to hold down the fort, but it is far from enough!"
