Hex sniffed then sniffed again. "Yep it's definitely an alien." Estron looked down at Hex. "Dogs here don't talk."
"This one does pal." Hex said with a raised eye.
Wraith crouched down and extended his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you Estron." He thought he would panic and start screaming. But he felt calm, relaxed even. It was like some great secret had been revealed and it was ok, everything was fine.
At last he knew we were not alone in the universe and it felt great.
Estron extended his small hand and shook Wraith's. "You're not like human." It said. "You are mix of planet."
Wraith laughed. "It's a long story Estron and when we have time, I will tell you it. But we can't stay here all night. Where would you like to go?"
Estron thought deeply and said. "Llanfairpwllgwngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch."
Everyone looked at each other confused. "We don't speak Klingon pal." Hex said. He wasn't sure if he liked this alien, it was the first time Hex had ever smelt something he didn't know what it was.
"North Wales." Estron then said. "Take me North Wales."
The woman was simply known as Ash; her real name had been lost long ago to Westminster's need to know policy. But she didn't work for the government anyway, she worked for *MI13.
She played back the message. 'I'm with an alien at Crow Lane industrial park area, come quick.' For all that Hollywood said in its spy thrillers it was still tricky to trace a mobile call. But it was easy to grab a message if the word alien was red flagged.
If word got out that an alien really had escaped from a secret base right in the heart of London. Well it didn't bear thinking about. The only small mercy was that the Americans were still too busy chasing their own tail on the war on terror to notice. She thought she had about 12 hours before they find out.
She had sent a discrete unit out to the industrial park straight away but whoever was there were long gone. She was just waiting on CCTV and hopefully a car number plate.
It didn't take long before a car plate did come up on her monitor. It wasn't good. It was a police car. The last thing she needed was them sniffing around. The image of the woman had quickly been identified as inspector Lomax of the Metropolitan Police.
A good cop with a modern marriage.
It was the second person on the CCTV who had really worried her though. A damn occult detective by the name of Wraith Macabre. She had recognised him straight away.
He was well known to the department.
She leaned back in her chair and made a call.
*MI13 is a secret department formed in 1920. Its role is to cover up or debunk any paranormal or extraterrestrial activity. MI3 over the years have killed, kidnapped and ruined occult detectives.
Thank you for reading Wraith Macabre. There will be a chapter every Tuesday and Friday, with more spooky adventures of the occult detective as he tries to solve weird and wonderful cases!!
