Bab 5: The blue planet

Liryn looked at her son with a serious expression, yet one full of care. Her voice carried a tone that mixed concern and firmness.

"You probably don't fully understand the situation, so I'll explain."

She paused, taking a deep breath as she watched him with piercing eyes, as if searching for the right words to convey something so heavy.

"I've been doing some research, and I've concluded that the Saiyans want to eliminate you and other hybrids."

"They sent you to this dangerous planet on purpose, hoping you wouldn't survive."

Kaelor's eyes widened, shocked and alarmed, but Liryn continued before he could respond.

"But I won't accept that outcome helplessly. I've modified your spaceship. Now, you'll be able to travel to any planet you choose and start a new life."

Her voice carried an unusual weight, and she looked at her son with a mix of determination and sadness.

"I've analyzed several planets. Some have species similar to us. They resemble Saiyans and Tuffles but seem to live peacefully. You'll have a chance to start fresh, far from their hatred."

Liryn began typing rapidly on the spaceship's computer, her fingers gliding over the controls with precision.

After a few moments, she turned the screen toward Kaelor, showing a panel filled with detailed information.

"These are the ship's main functions," she explained, pointing to the icons. "And here are the instructions for dealing with possible adverse scenarios. Memorize everything, Kaelor."

He nodded, absorbing every word, but his gaze remained fixed on his mother, as if trying to etch her face into his memory.

Liryn leaned down and kissed her son's forehead tenderly, her expression overflowing with love and silent sorrow.

"Goodbye, my son," she said with a forced smile, fighting against the pain of letting him go.

Kaelor watched her as she stepped away, each movement of hers feeling like an eternity.

His eyes, once filled with insecurity, now shone with newfound intensity.

He clenched his fists and lifted his face, now resolute.

A flame of determination grew within him, fueled by the farewell and the harsh truth he had learned.

"Weakness is the root of all evil," he thought, echoing what had now become his mantra. "For from it arise envy, fear, and submission to external forces. Strength, on the other hand, is the essence of good, for it liberates, elevates, and enables one to create one's own destiny. To seek strength is to seek happiness, for only those who become masters of themselves can live fully."

Kaelor knew what he needed to do. He would never again allow weakness to define him or endanger those he loved. He would be strong. He would forge his own destiny.

There was no need to wonder much about what his destiny would be. It was obvious to anyone who had ever watched Dragon Ball: his destiny was planet Earth.

Entering the spaceship, he checked the navigation systems, adjusted the route, and activated the stealth mode.

He looked at the panel displaying the estimated travel time: one year.

"One year…" he muttered, imagining that it would be enough time to binge several series, if he had access to a streaming service. But of course, that wasn't an option in the vacuum of space.

With no alternatives, he sighed, walked to his seat, and activated the system.

The sound of the mechanisms filled the air as artificial coldness began to take over.

He felt his eyelids grow heavy, and before he could reflect further on the long journey, he fell asleep.

The clear midday sky was torn by a brilliant light racing across the horizon like a lightning bolt.

A deafening roar echoed across the wheat fields, shaking the ground and sending birds into desperate flight.

At the center of the vast field, a spherical spaceship crashed into the earth, creating a deep crater.

The shockwave uprooted plants and left the field in ruins.

The ship, gleaming with metallic tones, emitted steam from its cracks while the surrounding ground still smoldered.

From a distance, an old farmer, his straw hat askew on his head, watched the scene with his mouth agape.

The tractor beside him seemed tiny compared to the colossal impact. He muttered, shaking his head in disbelief:

"What in the world… All my work… destroyed by this thing!"

Before he could approach, the surface of the spaceship began to emit a soft glow, and a mechanical sound reverberated through the air.

A hatch opened with a sharp hiss, revealing a shadow within.

From it emerged a small child, with messy hair and a furry tail lazily swaying behind him.

He blinked a few times, adjusting to the daylight, and then looked around with a blank expression, as if assessing the environment.

The farmer took a step back, clutching his hat, his eyes wide with pure astonishment.

"It's impossible… What are you?!"

The child turned his head in his direction, with a calm gaze, and silently stepped out of the crater.

The weight of his presence seemed greater than anything the farmer had ever felt.

"Sorry about that," he said to the farmer, rubbing the back of his head. He smiled and apologized.

Kaelor reentered the spaceship, taking one last look at the devastated farm. He sighed. He had harmed an innocent.

With a command, the ship took off smoothly, disappearing over the horizon until it landed in a clearing in the middle of a dense forest.

The fresh smell of nature surrounded him as he stepped out of the ship, flooding his senses.

It was a familiar scent, somehow comforting, as if the Earth he was familiar with.

He took a deep breath and felt an unexpected calm.

"Well… I guess I should look for Master Roshi, right?" he said to himself, rubbing his chin as he looked at the sky.

But one question soon troubled him: How will I find his island?

Then an idea came to him. Kaelor remembered that Master Roshi wasn't just a recluse on a distant island; he was a known figure on Earth.

Surely, someone in a large city would know how to locate him.

Taking precautions, he activated the ship's stealth system, which vanished from sight instantly, blending into the surrounding vegetation.

To ensure he could find it again, he placed discreet marks on nearby trees—a simple but effective method.

Grabbing his Scouter and rifle, he started walking.

"Now, I have to go to the nearest town."

Kaelor began to move away from the clearing, following the ground covered in leaves and roots. He glanced briefly at the sky and decided he shouldn't fly.

He didn't want to attract attention or scare people with his presence.

"Better to act like a civilized, normal person."

With his hands in his pockets and a calm demeanor, Kaelor followed the trail, feeling increasingly curious and excited with each step.

The journey to civilization had begun.

He activated the Scouter and began searching for concentrated power levels—a sign of civilization.

Soon, several numbers began to beep in the West, with power levels ranging from 5 to 10.

He started running at high speed toward the location.

The man was inside his old car, parked by the roadside, smoking a cigarette and relaxing, trying to enjoy the warmth of the sun.

He observed the horizon with narrowed eyes, noticing the dust cloud forming in the distance.

Suddenly, he saw something that made him squint harder. It was a child running on the road, with a huge cloud of smoke behind him.

He got out of the car, adjusting his hat on his head, incredulous at the sight.

"Hey, kid! What's going on?" he shouted.

The child stopped running, panting, and stared at him with determined eyes. A tail swayed behind him, and the farmer gulped.

"This isn't normal…" he murmured, but before he could react, the boy approached.

"Do you know where Master Roshi's island is?" Kaelor asked bluntly.

The farmer scratched his head, still confused. "Master Roshi? Oh, everyone knows him! Just head south until you reach the ocean. You'll need a boat or something that floats…"

Kaelor smiled, giving a quick nod. "Thanks!"

Without wasting time, he started running again, leaving the farmer speechless.

"What was that...? Kids these days…" he muttered, returning to his car as he watched the figure disappear into the distance.

Kaelor was forced to stop and rest.

He had run intensely, and now hunger was beginning to set in. He needed to eat and drink something.

He approached a river and, with a swift motion, caught a large fish.

He placed it on the ground and, with patience, began trying to make a fire with a stick.

When he finally succeeded, he placed the fish over the flames.

As the aroma of roasted fish filled the air, he took a bite, savoring the warm and comforting taste in his mouth.

"Beerus loves Earth's food in the anime... Are the dishes really that tasty?" he commented to himself with a smile. Satisfied, he stood up and continued the journey.

When he got near the coast, he passed through a suspicious area.

His fighting instinct alerted him, and he thought to himself: This feels like the beginning of a bandit subjugation quest. He observed a few armed and shady individuals lurking in the distance.

"What do you want?" Kaelor shouted, breaking the rising tension.

"Toll!" replied the bald man, accompanied by five subordinates.

Kaelor then activated the Scouter and analyzed the data. The average power level was 12—formidable for Earthlings, but nothing noteworthy for a Saiyan.

With that, he continued walking, ignoring the bandits as if nothing had happened.

Irritated by his dismissive attitude, the bandits attacked as a group, trying to surprise him with punches.

Kaelor, with an agile jump, avoided the blow and, with impressive speed, punched each of them in the stomach with enough force to leave them breathless.

"I suggest you choose another profession," he said in a cold, authoritative voice. "And to expedite the process, I'll take that motorcycle and all your money.

Otherwise, I'll kill you all and continue on my way."

The bald man, now trembling, smiled submissively. "Of course, sir, please feel free to take whatever you want—the motorcycle and money are yours."

"Take? No, you're gifting them to me. I'm a fair man, and I generously accepted your gift," Kaelor replied with an ironic smile.

The bald man quickly agreed, promising to lead a more dignified life.

As Kaelor walked away, visibly terrified, the bald man scolded his subordinates for attacking someone without reason.

"How could you attack someone as just and noble as that child?" he exclaimed, his voice filled with despair.

The subordinates, annoyed, retorted: "You're the one who ordered us!"

Embarrassed, the bald man decided to vent his frustration on something.

He kicked a stone in anger, but as soon as he struck it, he realized he had made the wrong move and ended up hurting his foot.

He began shouting in pain and calling for help, but no one came to assist him.

I must be close to the coast, at least, Kaelor thought to himself, trying to stay focused on his journey.

When he finally spotted the ocean on the horizon, he grew excited.

Reaching the beach, he saw an elderly man with a turtle shell on his back and suddenly became euphoric.

"It's him, it's Master Roshi!" he exclaimed, accelerating to approach the old man.

Stopping the motorcycle on the sand, a cloud of dust rose and enveloped the elderly man.

Coughing, Master Roshi, slightly irritated, responded, "You're a mischievous young man, playing a trick on a fragile old man like me."

Kaelor, embarrassed, quickly replied, "Thanks for the compliment, but that wasn't my intention."

Master Roshi remained silent for a moment, observing Kaelor thoughtfully.

This child… is quite shameless.
