Bab 25: VS Leaf (Red)
The sky was blue, the clouds were hiding the sun completely, the brightness was average and the weather was pleasant. The gentle cold breeze raced through my body which gave a sudden shiver.
Leaf and I were really happy that we had two Gym Badges. We couldn't even stop looking at those badges. Then a really good idea snapped in my head.
The idea was, um, to battle Leaf. I know it would be fun but this would not be a friendly battle, it would be a serious battle.
'Um, Leaf ? I want to challenge you to a Pokemon Battle', I said, I didn't feel like she was going to accept the challenge.
'A battle ?', said Leaf, making herself sure.
'You heard right. A battle', I replied in sudden confidence.
'Alright', said Leaf. 'Let's get started'.
'You know I can defeat you', I said.
'I know you can, just because of your Pikachu', said Leaf. 'But I have an idea to defeat Pikachu'.
'Okay', I said. 'I choose you, Charmeleon'.
Leaf gave a smile and took three to four seconds to choose her Pokemon. 'Okay, go Vulpix', she said.
'Charmeleon, use Ember', I said.
But Ember didn't effect Vulpix at all.
'Ha, Vulpix can resist that. Use Will-o-wisp', said Leaf. Charmeleon was critically hit.
'Oh-boi. Charmeleon, use Metal Claw', I said.
The Metal Claw was so yesterdays but it gave some cool damage to Vulpix.
The battle was getting interesting and I had a very bad idea. The idea was to switch Charmeleon.
'Vulpix, Flamethrower', said Leaf.
It was a critical hit and Charmeleon was hurt by its burn.
'Charmeleon, come back. Go Nidorino', I said.
Nidorino had a really good advantage against Vulpix.
'Vulpix, Will-o-wisp', said Leaf.
'Nidorino, Double Kick', I said.
Vulpix was poisoned.
'Vulpix, Roar', said Leaf.
Vulpix roared and Nidorino was sent back in its Pokeball and Pidgey was sent out. I hated this roar attack. Pidgey was weak against Vulpix but I couldn't even switch Pokemon.
'Pidgey, Gust', I said.
'Vulpix, Flamethrower', said Leaf.
Pidgey fainted.
'Come back, go Pikachu', I said.
'Oops, not now. Vulpix, Roar', said Leaf.
But Pikachu wasn't scared at all. He stood still and then took a nice thunderbolt position.
'Pikachu, Thunderbolt', I said.
Vulpix fainted.
'Oh no, Vulpix come back. Go Bulbasaur', said Leaf.
'That's your great plan ?', I asked.
'Bulbasaur, Leech Seed', said Leaf.
Pikachu was seeded. Bulbasaur took Pikachu's energy.
'Pikachu, Thunderbolt', I said.
Bulbasaur held on.
'Well done, Bulbasaur use Razor Leaf', said Leaf.
Pikachu fainted.
'Whoa, that was amazing', I said.
'Told you, I had a plan', said Leaf.
'That was just your good luck', I said. 'Okay, go Charmeleon'.
'You have a type advantage', said Leaf.
'Yes, I do. Charmeleon, use Ember', I said.
Bulbasaur fainted.
'Go Rattata', said Leaf.
'Charmeleon, use Ember', I said.
'Rattata, use Hyper Fang', said Leaf.
'Charmeleon, Metal Claw'.
Rattata fainted.
'Go Mankey. Use Fury Swipes', said Leaf.
Charmeleon fainted.
'Okay, go Nidorino', I said.
'Mankey, low kick'.
'Nidorino, double kick'.
Mankey fainted.
Leaf was now upset a little bit. 'Go Spearow'.
'Nidorino, Peck', I said. Spearow was poisoned.
'Spearow, use Pursuit', said Leaf.
Nidorino fainted.
Spearow flashed blue and grew in shape and size and finally evolved. Leaf pointed the Pokedex towards it.
'Fearow, a Beak Pokemon. With its huge and magnificent wings, it can keep aloft without ever having to land for rest', explained the Pokedex.
Meanwhile, Cassidy and Butch hid behind a bush and watched us.
'Let us catch that Fearow', said Butch.
'Of course, we will', said Cassidy.
Suddenly, a net came and trapped Fearow inside. The net was pulled to the back of a truck.
'Hello, twerps', said Cassidy.
'Team Rocket', I said with anger.
They both ruin the fun in the journey. I don't understand why they both battle me and Leaf. Don't they find anyone else ?
'Cassidy, dialogue', whispered Butch.
'Oh', Cassidy whispered back.
'To protect the world from devastation'.
'To unite the people within our nation'.
'To denounce the evils of truth and love'.
'To extend our reach to the stars above'.
'Cassidy'.
'And Butch'.
'Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light'.
'Surrender now or prepare to fight'.
'Don't you get tired, speaking the same crappy dialogue again and again', said Leaf, with a deep breath of tiredness.
'Crappy dialogue ? THAT dialogue is world famous', said Cassidy.
'Yes, and it is copyrighted', said Butch.
'Let Fearow go', I said.
'Oh, really. What are you going to do if I do NOT', said Butch.
'Ha. I have Pikachu', I said.
'Um, Red. Pikachu fainted in the battle. I just have my Kakuna and you just have your Magikarp', whispered Leaf.
'Oh no', I said.
'What ?', said Cassidy. 'What's that whispering about ?'.
'I...am saying that....if you don't free Fearow, then I'll have to send Pikachu', I said, trying not to be scared of Team Rocket.
I knew I could defeat Team Rocket, but now that Pikachu wasn't recovered, I was on my own. We were on our own. Well, with Kakuna and Magikarp.
We could take help from Fearow but only when we get him free of that cage. Leaf looked nervous. I didn't know what to do. Cassidy and Butch were waiting for us to send our Pokemon when Butch got tired of waiting and sent out his Primeape.
'Go ahead, send Pikachu', said Butch.
'We know he's fainted, twerp', said Cassidy.
'Stop calling me that', I said.
'You can't do anything. All your Pokemons are fainted', said Cassidy.
'The only one which is NOT fainted is this Fearow. This Pokemon that is so powerful, our boss will love it and give us alot of money for it', said Butch.
'Maybe promotion too', continued Cassidy, she seemed to be day dreaming now.
'They think all our Pokemons are fainted', whispered Leaf.
'Enough of that whispering', said Butch, in anger.
'Hasta la vista, amigos', said Cassidy.
'Primeape, come back. They don't deserve a battle', said Butch.
They sat inside the truck and drove it away and we couldn't do a thing. We just ran after the truck, following it's tracks on the wet soil.
The tracks lead to an old abandoned garage. The grarage had broken tin sheets for a roof and rusted iron doors.
We sneakily went near the garage and behind the truck to see where Fearow was. Fearow was a really big concern at that point and we had to save him but the cage wasn't there anymore.
We peeked inside the garage from a window. Cassidy and Butch stood there. Fearow was still in a cage. They both talked to someone through a video chat on a laptop.
'Boss, we have a Pokemon just as you like', said Butch.
'Well done. You both just joined my team and you have a Pokemon', said Boss.
'Yes, we had to do a tough job defeating two Pokemon Trainers but here we have one of their Pokemon', said Cassidy.
'Trainers, huh. They are powerful indeed but not powerful against any Team Rocket Agent', said the boss.
'You're right, boss', said Cassidy.
'You both are not like the other two agents of mine', said the boss.
'Who ?', asked Butch.
'The special agents in white Team Rocket uniform. They both always lose against one trainer', said the boss.
'Oh, I know who you are talking about', said Cassidy.
'Leave them. They are like that', said Butch.
'Okay. Enough chatting, now bring me that Fearow' and get ready for a promotion', said the boss.
They turned off the laptop and cheered for themselves. Then picked up Fearow's cage using a forklift and kept it back at the rear side of the truck.
We were still at the front of the truck and Cassidy and Butch slowly gained at us. They didn't know we were there but still it made me anxious.
'You twerps again ?', said Cassidy after seeing us.
'I told you to surrender, you didn't. Now prepare for a fight', said Butch. 'Go Primeape'.
'We have to do this, Leaf. Go Magikarp', I said.
'Fine, I'm with you. Go Kakuna', said Leaf.
'You had more Pokemon ?', asked Cassidy.
'It is just a Magikarp and Kakuna. One of them knows only Splash and the other knows only a Harden. Easy as a pie', said Butch.
'No, they are much more than that. Magikarp, Tackle', I said.
Butch's jaw dropped (not on the floor).
'Kakuna, use Poison Sting', said Leaf.
Primeape was poisoned. Primeape was hurt by the poison.
'Primeape, you okay ?', asked Butch. 'Primeape, use Low Kick'.
'Drowsee, come on out', said Cassidy.
Primeape hit Kakuna with its kick but it wasn't very effective against Kakuna because of it's hard skin.
'Ha, that's it ? Magikarp, Tackle', I said.
Drowsee was hurt by Magikarp's Tackle.
'Drowsee, Hypnosis on that Magikarp', said Cassidy. Hypnosis wasn't very effective against Magikarp as Magikarp was indeed a dumb Pokemon.
'Kakuna, String Shot on Primeape', said Leaf.
The string shot tied Primeape' in strings making it difficult to move its legs.
'Primeape, Low kick', said Butch.
But Primeape wasn't able to move properly. It fell and fainted. Primeape gave a funny look before fainting and me and Leaf burst out in laughter.
'It's impossible', said Butch.
'Drowsee, Psychic', said Cassidy.
Magikarp fainted.
'How's that ?', asked Cassidy.
'Nice', said Butch.
They looked overconfident now.
'Kakuna, use Poison Sting', said Leaf.
Drowsee was poisoned, it was hurt by its poison.
'Great, Leaf', I said.
'Thanks', said Leaf.
'Drowsee, use Hypnosis', said Cassidy.
Drowsee's attack missed. Drowsee was hurt by it's poison.
'That was close', I said.
'Okay. Kakuna, use Poison Sting', said Leaf.
Drowsee was hurt by its poison.
Drowsee fainted.
Team Rocket finally lost the match.
'Oops', said Butch. 'I'm gonna go now'.
Then a voice came from a distance,' Team Rocket, you are under arrest'. It was Officer Jenny.
'On what charge now ?', asked Cassidy.
'For being a Team Rocket Member', said Officer Jenny.
Team Rocket Members - Cassidy and Butch were arrested. Leaf and I rescued Fearow.
Suddenly, Kakuna flashed blue and grew in size and its shape changed. It evolved into its final stage, Beedrill.
Leaf was happy, she pointed her Pokedex towards it.
'Beedrill, a Poison Bee Pokemon. It flies at high speed and attacks using the large venomous stingers on its forelegs and tail', explained the Pokedex.
'Cool, I have a Beedrill now', said Leaf.
We got back to Cerulean City to get our Pokemons back to full health and restarted our battle.
'You ready ?', asked Leaf.
'Yep', I said. 'Atleast we don't have Team Rocket around for a while'.
'I know', said Leaf. 'Let's get this started. Go Beedrill'.
'Pikachu, I choose you', I said.
And the day probably ended peacefully. We sent Team Rocket in jail and evolved our Pokemon, atleast Leaf did.
Meanwhile;
'Officer, I want these both out', said the boss.
'I can't. I'll have to arrest you', said the officer.
'What about a little payment ?', said the boss.
'Corruption wouldn't work here, Giovanni', said the officer.
'Take these Pokedollars. They are exactly ninety thousand, I hope it is enough for your family', said the boss.
'Hey, anyone please get these both out. They both are just in a disguise', said the officer.
'Good job, officer', said the boss.
