As Madara paid attention to his surroundings with his chakra sense, he noticed the fox girl woke up and started eating the food he left her.
Madara was in deep thought because he felt the fox girl was able to absorb the same unknown surrounding energy he was absorbing. And she was getting stronger too. The weird thing was, he didn't notice something like that happening with the group of people he faced yesterday.
"He-hello," Madara heard a timid voice from behind him. It was obviously the fox girl.
"It is good you're awake," Madara stated, then added, "Do you mind telling me why you were being chased?"
The fox girl was taken aback by the question. She had an internal conflict about telling him or not. Though the information should be common knowledge to cultivators. And the strength she witnessed from him told he was a strong one at that. But the small inkling that he might not know made her not want to tell him. That was until she noticed how he was absorbing the surrounding energy without a cultivation technique.
That was something only spirit beasts and people like her could do. That changed things.
"It's because of what I and you have in common," She replied in a cryptic sort of way.
'Yeah, be mysterious. I don't prefer directness at all,' Madara was angry inside at the fox girl lack of forwardness.
So Madara had to think on the only thing they had in common.
"Is it because of that energy entering our bodies?" Madara asked. He hadn't looked back at the fox girl nor opened his eyes.
The fox girl nodded but soon felt like an idiot as Madara couldn't see her doing that. But Madara could and he wasn't going to tell her. He was angry at her lack of forwardness. If someone asks you something, either say yes or not if the question is of that nature. If the question gives you some leeway to elaborate, be direct. He hates when people dance around things or act mysterious for no reason.
"Yes," The fox girl voiced. "This ability is something only spirit beasts and hybrids like us can do."
The fox girl didn't pay attention to the fact Madara didn't call the energy by its named as she thought he came from a lower realm where the energy was completely converted to something else. She thought so because of Madara's chakra and how the energy he absorbed transformed.
"I'm not a hybrid,' Madara stated as he guessed what a hybrid was the finished product of a spirit beast and a person having a relationship beyond friendship.
The fox girl was caught off guard by Madara's statement.
'This…is not possible. Only spirit beasts and hybrids have this ability. There's no way a human cultivator can do it. Unless it was made into a technique, which is doubtful. If such a thing existed, we hybrids would have discovered it and spread it.' The fox girl list herself in her thoughts.
"If you're okay now, then I can go now." Madara brought the fox girl out of her thoughts.
Madara stood up and walked away. The cabin he made disappeared as Madara didn't want someone to find it. As Madara walked away towards a random direction, the fox girl followed him.
Madara didn't pay attention to her and jumped on top of one of the tall trees branches around and left. It wasn't until he noticed a nine-tailed white fox following him on the ground. Thanks to his chakra sense, he knew the white fox was the fox girl from before.
'What does she want?' Madara used the flicker technique to quickly appear in front of the fox girl.
"What do you want?" The fox girl was surprised by how Madara appeared in front of her so quickly. So it took a moment for her to calm down.
"I want to invite you over to where I live." The fox girl spoke, still in her fox form.
Madara thought it over for a while. He didn't see anything wrong with accepting her invitation. And even if something happened, he would be able to escape with Kamui or with his Earth style.
"Sure, lead the way." Madara accepted.
This threw the fox girl off. She was prepared for a long argument in order to convince him. The fox girl quickly got a hold of herself and led the way.

In a grass cleaning a few meters away from a town.
Bears, wolfs, foxes, lions, tigers, goats, and a few other animals were being led by a kangaroo against people with animal traits.
This was a fight between spirit beasts and hybrids.
"Don't fall back! We are the last line of defense between these spirit beasts and our home!" A lion man yelled.
The man's body was covered in a blonde lion fur. He had a lion's mane around his head. He only wore some black pants. He had claws on his feet and hands. His muscles could be easily noticed even with all that fur. And his six feet height was intimidating.
The lion man had a big bastard sword he was using to cause mayhem in the battlefield. The blood of the spirit beasts he had killed dripped from his sword and bathed the grass floor with the color of their blood.
"Let's follow Hogan's example!" A wolfman charged as he yelled.
Other hybrids followed and became the shield for their home. At least most of them had families they had to fight for. If they were to fall, they would die by the hands of the spirit beasts attack.
"Annoying hybrids," The spirit beast kangaroo muttered while looking over the battlefield from behind. He was a King ranked cultivator. The only reason he hasn't joined the fight was because of the King ranked on the hybrids side.
If either one were to join, the other would take the moment the other was distracted for a sneak attack. So they held each other in check.
"Damnable fox." The kangaroo fumed under his breath.
On the hybrid side, a white fox man stood on top of a building, looking over the battlefield with worry. He wanted to end this fight already, but the King ranked on the enemy side was waiting for him to make a move. If he were to be injured by him, then everything would be lost.
At least he can focus on killing every spirit beast that gets through the battlefield to attack his home. He wished he knew where his daughter went. He just hoped she wasn't killed by the spirit beasts. Or worse, captured by humans. The mere thought of either option made the fox man worry.

"What is this madness?" The fox girl stated with worry. "Spirit Beasts? They found our home? But how?"
The girl continued to talk to herself while Madara looked over the battlefield from the cliff they found themselves at.
"Looks like I have to act. I can see two powerful individuals on each side, but they aren't moving. They must be keeping each other in check." Madara signed.
[Wood Style: Wood Dragon jutsu]
A serpent-like dragon came from the ground under Madara and the fox and flew towards the battlefield.

The spirit beasts were pushing the hybrids back. The fox man was worried and about to throw caution to the wind to attack as many spirit beasts as he could before the King ranked spirit beast attacked him.
But then, a shadow covered the battlefield. When the ones who were fighting looked up, they could only see a flying serpent. Which they could not see clearly due to the sun.
Following the flying serpent, there was a bright light on the top of it. Said light divided into multiple small lights which sought out the spirit beasts. The lights perforated beasts vitals organs. The spirit beasts couldn't even dodge it as they changed directions.
A great part of the spirit beasts died to the lights.
"For the Exalted one! What is that?" The lion man said.
The two dots jumped from the back of the serpent as it went towards the kangaroo. The kangaroo surrounded himself with some brown energy and punched the serpent. An explosion came out from the attack, covering them with a cloud of smoke.
One of the dots that jumped from the serpent was discovered to be a man who was carrying a fox girl with a princess carry. The man was flying towards the fox man. The other dot was the same man, but this one was quickly falling in the middle of the battlefield. The difference between this man and the one flying towards the fox man was the guitar-like object on his back.
Many thought the man was going to crash with the ground. Many spirit beasts were disappointed when he stopped himself by levitating on the last moment, creating a gust of wind.
The man gazed towards the spirit beasts with blue eyes with three tomoe on each. The same tomoe as the ones on his clothes and necklace.
"I'll give only one warning." The man's voice could be heard all over the battlefield. "Leave now and preserve your life. Stay and you will die."
The battlefield was silent after hearing the daring words of the man.
"And who are you to utter such words!?" The kangaroo leading the spirit beasts stepped forward. Anger obvious on his face.
"Me?" The upper body of a humanoid creature made of some blue energy surrounded the man. This creature had four arms and a sword made of light blue energy.
Everyone who saw this was struck with awe. Others were struck with fear as they could feel the insane amount of energy it contained.
The creature swung one of its swords downwards towards the kangaroo. The kangaroo surrounded himself with a great amount of energy that suffocated anyone who was close to him.
The sword's swing shot a vertical energy slash that quickly made its way towards the kangaroo, who was completely covered by energy.
The kangaroo took the attack head-on. Something that disappointed Madara, even when he already saw what he would do. The kangaroo, in front of the eyes of everyone, was cut into two. He died easily. The sword's slash left a trail on the ground until it dispersed.
"I am Madara Uchiha," Madara answered the question the kangaroo asked.
