"Me, I'll go first." Jia Li already knows what she will be showing so there's no point in thinking about it any further.
Something to impress them with? Since her spirit veins are average, she can only.... uh, wait. She had been planning to split some rocks or something to display her strength but looking around, there was nothing in sight but clouds and mist. No rocks, no trees, there was only....the tall ivory gate. Jia Li pondered about it. Would they mind if she breaks it?
"If you need anything to display your abilities just say it and it will be provided for you."
"Then some boulders, please. The big kind."
Chang Jiu Ling waved her hand and a formation instantly appeared mid-air in front of Jia Li, rocks of all sizes raining down from the center.
Jia Li was in her element as she plows through the rocks. The bigger ones were smashed into pieces by her fist while the smaller ones were crushed into smithereens by her foot.
"Some tree?"
The formation was on the ground this time and a small patch of forest appeared.
Many trees halved later, Jia Li finished her demonstration and stepped back to wait for her evaluation.
"Kid, what's your spirit vein?" Several Peak Masters were interested in Jia Li but they wanted to know if their spirit veins are compatible. The more similar their spirit veins are, the more fruitful a master and disciple relationship would be so all the Peak Masters wishes to take in a disciple with similar spirit veins to theirs.
"Fire, wood and wind spirit vein."
It's a tri-spirit vein.... although it's not completely terrible, most of the Peak Masters are looking for a personal succeeding disciple. They want to raise a successor to their peak so they can retire to a carefree life already....
He Yang's eyes narrowed. This kid seems kind of familiar. Black hair, blue eyes, tri-spirit veins...superhuman strength....
His eyes widen. Sh*t, isn't she the child of that couple? What is she doing here? Also.... wasn't their kid born with intellectual problems so she was always kept at home like a treasure? He Yang sneaked a peek at Jia Li. She looks fine, in fact, those little eyes of her's seem to be brimming with schemes... could he have been mistaken?
Wait, if she really is their kid then she should be able to do that....
"Hey, Luo Luo do you have a few low-level spirit beast on you?"
Zhang Luo Luo nodded and curiously asked, "What do you need them for?"
"I'm going to make that girl fight against them."
Zhang Luo Luo raised a delicate brow. "You're interested in her? I mean her physique isn't bad I admit but you're better off choosing a disciple with better spirit-veins. Wouldn't be a loss of face if your disciple lost to Twin Peak's disciples?"
All the Peak Masters are naturally competitive against each other, especially when most of them have known each other since they first began cultivating. As youths, they fought with each other zealously with their area of expertise and that competitiveness only intensified when they became Peak Masters.
Since Twin Peak and Martial Peak are both sword peaks, the competitive nature between the two peaks are naturally higher, each peak feeling the need to be better than the other and it doesn't help that all three Peak Masters love to fight.
"I just want to make sure of something."
Zhang Luo Luo made a suit yourself face and released two low-grade spirit beasts from a pouch hanging by her waist.
Jia Li saw the two spirit beasts and went on guard, raising her fists. Another test for her?
Being worried that Jia Li would not be able to handle the spirit beasts, Zhang Luo Luo had given a command beforehand to the spirit beasts to not harm her too badly. But soon she realizes that she had been worried for nothing.
The two spirit beasts stayed exactly where they are, not daring to breathe much less get close to Jia Li.
Jia Li was confused as to why the beasts weren't moving.
....Am I suppose to go to them?
Jia Li took a step towards them but that caused one of the spirit beast to let out a scared noise that sounded a lot like crying.
Alarmed, Jia Li stepped back and the wailing spirit beast took this chance to run back into its owner's pouch.
The remaining spirit beast laid motionlessly on the ground like it had given up all hopes on life.
QwQ
It wanted to run too but its legs had gone soft. This person is so scary. I want to go home. Master help!
。゚( ゚இ‸இ゚)゚。
"Hahaha!" It really is her no doubt!
Fast as a lightning, He Yang scooped up Jia Li, got on his sword and flew away. "I will be taking her as my personal succeeding disciple. Have fun with the rest, byeeeeee."
He must run away quickly! Otherwise, someone else will come and snatch his disciple!
"Hey wait!" Zhang Luo Luo cursed. Summoning a crane, she got on and chased after He Yang. That bastard! "He Yang, if you're a man then fight for her fairly!"
See if she doesn't beat him too death!
All of a sudden there was two fewer Peak Masters.
"....." Ling Guan looked up to the sky where the flying silhouettes were fading away into the distance. He...he should probably catch up to Jia Li.
"I'm Ling Guan, possesses Heavenly lightning spirit vein with exceptional cultivation aptitude. Is anyone willing to take me?"
Two figures wearing flowing white robes appeared in front of him.
"He said he's a Heavenly lightning spiritual vein."
"Did he just said exceptional aptitude?"
Yu Su Song and Yu Bi Ming each tugged at one of Ling Guan's arm.
"He's mine back off."
Yu Su Song snorted. "I want him, you let go."
Wait, what are they fighting for? Their peaks are connected so can't they.....
Both of them came to this conclusion at the same time and tactfully compromised.
Yu Su Song looked at Yu Bi Ming. Share?
Yu Bi Ming nodded his head. Share.
"Ok let's go then. I'm sure the quality of our disciple won't lose to He Yang's."
Each with a hand still firmly gripping onto Ling Guang's arm, they both took out their swords and flew away too.
Ling Guan dangling in midair between them, "....."
Please, at least carry him right.
Meanwhile, He Yang is still running away from Zhang Luo Luo with Jia Li.
"He Yang fight me!" There is no way she is letting go of such an exceptional disciple for her Beast Taming Peak.
He Yang who was bored with running suddenly turned around. "You wanna fight? Bring it on!"
His flying sword split into hundreds of other swords all aiming towards Zhang Luo Luo.
Jia Li didn't want to be in the middle of this fight. She was tough sure but she could tell that if one of their attacks accidentally hits her she would be done for.
"Wait!" Jia Li has to save herself.
The two Peak Masters turned to look at her.
"Erm Miss, you work with animals right?"
Zhang Luo Luo nodded. "Not just any animals but powerful spirit beasts. I can guarantee that if you become my disciple I can make you the best beast tamer in the entire empire."
Jia Li looked up at the person holding her. "And you sir?"
"Well if she can make you into the best beast tamer then I can train you to be the best sword cultivator." In any case, at least better than whoever Yu Su Song and Yu Bi Ming chooses as a disciple.
"Ok, here's the thing..."
Both Peak Master leaned in to hear what she has to say.
"I don't like animals." And they don't seem to like me either.
He Yang burst into laughter. "Hahaha, you heard that Luo Luo?"
Zhang Luo Luo looked disappointed. "A-are you sure you won't reconsider?"
Jia Li quickly nodded.
"Fine, but if you ever change your mind and want to change master.... my peak is always opened to you." Hmph, she'll change her mind sooner or later.
"Hey, no poaching my disciple!" He Yang covered Jia Li's ears. "Don't listen to her."
Giving Jia Li a few reluctant looks, Zhang Luo Luo decided to go back to see if there are any other suitable disciples.
After she left, He Yang continues to head towards Martial Peak on his sword.
"It's just you and me now little disciple." He Yang happily carried Jia Li to the transportation formation at the bottom of Martial Peak.
Jia Li gave a nod in response. Also, when was he going to put her down? She can walk by herself.
"By the way, how's your parent doing?"
Jia Li twisted her head so she could give her new master a good stare. "You know who I am?"
"Mn"
The formation teleported them to the very top of the mountain where the peak master lives exclusively.
"You know where I came from?"
"Mn" He should unless they moved the entire family.
"Good, because I don't."
He Yang almost dropped her onto the floor. "W-what do you mean you don't?"
"I have no memories regarding my family or my identity. Oh, I go by the name Jia Li now, nice to meet you, Master."
(* ゚∀゚)ノシ
.... What should he do with this disciple of his?
