Bab 45: Jaded(2)
Liu Rachael thanked the driver, who smiled back as he listened to the address that she called out to him. The cab puller away and the two settled into an easy chat.
Fifteen minutes later, the cab pulled up in front of a movie house.
"Miss, this is the place."
The cab driver pointed at the high end hangout spot for couples and teenagers.
"Uncle! Thank you!"
Liu Rachael got of the car and waved goodbye to the driver who did the same, before driving off. As she turned and took a few step forward, that was when she heard a familiar voice calling her name.
"Rachael! Over here!"
She turned to see Tian Min her ex-boyfriend run towards her with a bundle of red roses. Liu Rachael rooted on the spot when she saw him in a baggy white shirt, dark pants and studded navy blue suede shoes approaching with flowers in one hand.
When he caught up to her, they both stared at one another, not knowing how to break the ice from their recent breakup.
Finally, it was Tian Min that found the courage to speak up.
"How have you been?"
Liu Rachael saw that he had grown even more handsome, or maybe it was because she hadn't seen him in days. She saw the wavy side bangs of his dark hair fall sleekly to the side of his face. He looked clean and dressed nicely.
"I don't know, you tell me. How am I doing right now?!"
Tian Min expression looked as though he was taken aback by the reply he got from Liu Rachael. The reason why he called her was because he wanted both of them to have a fresh start by erasing their past mistakes. The smile that he wore on his face when he saw her, crumbled from the sarcastic response.
