On my way back I run into Jillian again.
"Ax, I was wondering in you wanted to have dinner with me. We could catch up and talk of old times."
I smile, "Why don't you join us tonight. I'll have Daisy get food for all of us."
"Sounds good. I understand you are going into town tomorrow can I tag along too. I'm off and want to do some shopping."
I agree and we walk to my quarters. When we arrive Lae is on the couch with his leg up and Daisy is reading.
"Daisy can you go get our food. Ask for four servings. Jillian will be eating with us."
'Ok, Can I get extra bread to eat later. I get hungry at night?'
"Yes, get what you want." I laugh.
"She did not say anything." Jillian said.
"She is a mute. She talks by telepathy."
"Oh, that weird." She said.
Lae is just watching us and I go to sit next to him.
"How is the ankle?" I ask.
"Better. The healer just left. The ointment he put on today took away most of the pain. He said I could walk on it for short distances tomorrow but keep it elevated when sitting."
"Guess that means you can't go into town tomorrow with us. Are you all right with that?" I ask.
"Sure, nothing I need anyway." He said.
I excuse my self to clean up and change out of my uniform. A quick shower feels good.
When I get back I notice the atmosphere was a little strange.
"Is everything alright?" I ask.
Lae won't even look at me.
"Fine, I guess he just doesn't want to talk to me." Jillian said.
Daisy came back with the cart of food and sat the table. I just could not figure out what was going on.
When dinner was over Daisy took the cart back to the kitchen but Lae went to his room.
"Jillian what happened while I was cleaning up."
"I just asked if he liked living here. He got mad and told me to shut up. I told him I just wanted to be friends and I could introduce him to some nice girls in town. He then refused to say another word to me." Jillian explained.
I knew there was more to it that Jillian was hiding something.
I then asked her to leave that I was tired and we could catch up another time. She smiled and left.
When Daisy came back I sent her in to get ready for bed. While she was cleaning up I went to talk with Lae.
"Hey, you alright?" I ask.
"Is she gone?" he said.
"Jillian, yes what happened?"
"Why did you bring me and my sister here?"
"I will answer this but then you must answer one of mine. The Oracle, Lillian, told me before I left that I would find strings of fate and get a new family. I believe you and your sister are these strings." I sit on the bed as he sits up next to me.
"To answer your first question, I not alright. Next question, Are you going to use us for your own pleasure?"
"I don't know how to answer that. It's a pleasure to have you two in my life. I know it has only been a day but right now it feels right. I take great pleasure in family and friends. If you mean sexual pleasure then I have to tell you, your sister will be my sister nothing more than that."
"And me?"
I take a deep breath. "What did Jillian say to you?"
"She said you like men and wanted me to warm your bed. She said because my mother was a whore I would be a good one to. Then she said that you would use my sister for other men."
"I figured she said something but I never imagined that. Your sister is safe here. The only man ever to sleep with her will be the man you agree to marry her to." I take another deep breath.
"As for you, I believe we were meant to be together. True love's mate. I did not want to push this I just wanted us to get to know each other. I would never treat you as a whore. I do have feeling for you and urges but I would never act upon then against your will."
I see the confusion in his eyes. "What was the Oracle's saying?" He asked.
"The strings of fate will intangel you with your true love and sole mate. He comes to you and new family will be formed. Patience is the key to unlocking it all."
I sat with him and hear a knock.
'Are you ok Lae?'
'Yes, go to bed I'll be in soon to tell you a story'
'Ok,' ... 'Good night Ax'
"Good night Daisy. Do you need anything before you lay down?" I ask.
'No, Lae will tuck me in later I'm fine.'
She leaves and we are left alone once more.
"You can talk to her with telepathy too."
"Only with her. I have tried with others it doesn't work."
"So what do you think about all this?"
"It's a lot. Are you sure it is about me?"
He says. I see how scared he is now.
"I feel it is but if you don't then I will except it. Just think about it. Go tuck Daisy in and we can talk later if you want." I get up and he follows me out.
I watch as he walks into Daisy's room. I sit down at the desk and pull out my journal.

I started work today. I visited our female prisoners. One I will need to use a stern push to control. None are worth looking at releasing.
I also visited the four men that have been here the longest from back when the Dukes army was captured. I believe three are worth releasing. I sent a letter to Henry about them.
Jillian has proven she is no longer my best friend. She went behind my back and messed up the relationship with Lae. I may now loss him because of what she did.
Lae and I had a good talk and I hope it was not to over whelming for him. Lillian said I needed patience and it is so hard. I want to grab him and kiss him then he would know how I feel. I can see all this is over whelming him and will give him the space and time he needs.
