The water ball was actually called Simulation Device, it was a very usefull tool to learn and research magic spells. If a magic class magic research were to be succesfull, they could profit greatly from it, enough to put other professions to shame. Even so, such a thing was not easy in the slightlest.
There were hundreds of spells in the water ball, however there weren't that many he could or was interested in learning. He learnt a variant of the Blink spell. Blink Spell was a spell that almost all magic classes had now, it allowed one to move extremely fast into any directon in a set range. This variant allowed one to performe a second move after the first one. Even though it didn't seem like a great thing, the requisite to learn the skill was Count rank, and it was a relatively expensive skill. Leroy still learnt it without hesistation, he didn't have many movement skills.
Many spells were not dark element ones, those, Leroy ignored, too many spells would reduce the rate they were leveled up. As dark spells had the most bonuses from his class and equipment, he would only choose those.
He brought a dark fog spells which reduced the visibility of the enemy, similar to what he did in the fight against Archbishop Poltier, just that this spell wouldn't need to have large amounts of dark mana in the sorroundings and wasn't as effective and the area was reduced too.
He then started simulating new spells, he experimented with the Summon Skeleton Warrior spell, incorporating his own insights into the spells and trying to increase the power of the skeletons, simulating once took more than half an hour, and he did over and over again....
After half a day passed, no one has left the library still. Leroy still simulated the new spell, the skeletons inside had much toughter thicker bones, and the sword they were using was much more refined too.
"It is still not enough" Leroy continued to research the new spell like these...
"This sure is a great place, this will upgrade our database multiple times"
After a few hours, a system message sounded.
System: The Endless Abyss has come into existence. Activating new expansion pack, "The Great Catastrophe".
The information revealed about his new expansion pack told that, in the future, Demonic Beasts would randomly launch assaults on towns, and towns would generate Defense Quests to players. So long players managed to protect a town, they would receive bountiful rewards. Among these rewards, there was many valuable items for players like Silver Rank items and even more. Players would also receive City Reputation from completing the Defense Quest.
Once again in God's Domain, Leroy continued his research with renewed vigor.
He continued to try and modify the warrior, for someone with his understandings in magic, it wasn't too hard to do so. Reading different books about melee classes, metals and ores, he did his best to try and create a whole armor after he was satisfied with the skeleton's estructure.
Now the water ball showed a tall armored figure.
With two meters in height, dark red armor and a carefully designed helmet, the figure brandished it's sword and dark mana followed. The black cape at his back had the logo of a raven sitting on a branch looking at the silhouete of a city under a red sky. It was very similar to Raven Guild's logo.
"Well, it's done then" Leroy revealed a satisfied smile, these was a new spell based of the Summon Skeleton Warrior spell, it was much stronger and well designed, even tough it seemed limitated by the simulation device.
System: Congratulations on creating a new spell. How would you like to name it?
"Raven Knight Summon" He replied, adding the guild name and logo to the new creature.
System: New spell generated, "Raven Knight Summon". Rewarding 3 Gold coins, 4,000,000 Exp, skill proficiency earned doubled for six hours.
You have leveled up.
He even gained a level from the new spell, as he was already close to level up.
Raven Knight Summon (Tier 1 Level 0)
A spell created by player Sensations.
Summons a team of twenty knights.
The skill started as Tier 1, probably because of his class also being Tier 1. Summoning a team of twenty monsters was less than that of the Summon Skeleton Spell at the same Tier and level. Yet each knight was infinitely stronger, they also would be better at learning as they had a bit higher intelligence and he could even add some skills to them to a certain extent.
Seeing the results of creating the first spell, Leroy grew more excited and started creating new spells. Altough the game would have powerful spells that players could learn, no spell was better than a self-made one, even if not in raw power, a suitable spell was had too many benefits.
It wasn't like the raven knight summon was a self made spell, though, it was just a modified skeleton warrior.
Three days passed like these, elite players were at Level 20 by now.
In these time, he managed to create a better Undead Wolf Call skill, which he renamed as Ghost Wolf Summon.
The Dark Spear skill also suffered some modifications, it's ability to penetrate the enemy's defenses increased. The Dark Slash skill now realeased more condensed waves, increasing the damage significantly.
He didn't try modifying more skills as that would take a too long time in the library, he even tried creating new skills but quickly understood it would take even longer, it wasn't necessary for now.
He finally walked out, to the Guild Residence. There he met Old Pat and the others.
"Lad, you finally came out, we have gathered some funds, it won't be long before we can purchase the land in the city center. It cost about 16,000 Gold Coins and has four plots of lands there, we'll buy the one next to the Auction House." Old Pat told him of their decisions.
"The main forces has started been clearing Level 20 Hell Mode Team Dungeons, they are have many good things along with a decent amount of Magic Crystals" Ford was also present here.
"Something happened in White River City, a level 20-30 map was impacted with a meteorite, monsters inside the White Fog Canyon has grown berserk, there are many elite monsters there that gives good loot and lots of experience points.
Some assasins found a Level 25 Great Lord Rank monster is also there, White River City guilds are starting sending thousands of members to hunt it. Accordng to the information in the library, there is a high chance that a rare ore called Starfire Ore might be in the inner regions, it is capable of increasing the success rate at forging items." Louis spoke too.
"Things are going well so far, we have gained influence over many guilds inside and outside Star-Moon City. We have also a small number of members to neighbouring kingdoms and some high ranking members to Black Dragon Empire." Felicity said
"Good, I managed to modify some spells into new ones, I'll join the main forces into White Fog Canyon, its been some time since I've grinded some monsters. BadHalo, anything about the Personal Guards?" Leroy asked and looked over at him.
"Guild Master, looking for good personal guards seems to be about luck and foresight, however, high ranking nobles have very capable guards following them. If Guild Master can meet some other noble, like Grand Duke Heartfield and ask for advice, maybe he could guide you" BadHalo reported too.
"Hmm, after we finish in White Fog Canyon I'll try to meet him" Leroy nodded, it would usually be hard if not impossible to meet such a high rank noble, he was currently a Count, above his rank were Marquis, Duke and then Grand Duke. Players could only acquire the title of Duke, while there were only one Grand Duke in Star-Moon Kingdom.
'I have some favorability with Grand Duke Hearfield, and he seemed to be interested in my luck aura, I can probably use it in my favor' Leroy tought.
"How many members have upgraded their classes to Tier 1?" He asked Ford.
"Almost half in the main forces has upgraded their classes, some elites hadn't got time to challenge it yet. With the Tier 1 Set Equipment you gave us, the main force member's strength is many times stronger than those of other Guilds." Ford replied while showing off his Epic Rank Axe.
"Well, then, let's go to White River City, how many will come along?" Leroy asked Ford
"There'll be 400 members going this time, along with 50 others from Louis's team." Old Ford replied somewhat excited. The guild would not force players to go some places like these, but the place was really good for grinding and elite monsters plagued the sorroundings so everyone came. But he was more excited about Leroy joining them, with this lad's strength and spells, the status of Raven Sanctuary would definetly grow, he would gain more benefits from his investment on the guild.
White River City, the average player level and equipment here where much lower than the ones of Star-Moon City, arriving along with four hundred members, Leroy, Ford and his sons started moving in the direction of White Fog Canyon.
The sight of so many high level players caused others go sigh in admiration, their equipments were all high grade and most of them were wearing a piece or two of dark-gold equipment. Some of them especially, were wearing a Set Equipment that gave a heavy opressive aura, they felt as if these players were a Lord bosses in disguise.
"They must be here from other city for the Great Lord boss"
"Of course they are, that is the Raven Sanctuary guild, one of the strongest guilds in Star-Moon Kingdom"
"Those are at the front are Fear Wave, Zero Hits, Flint, and Heavensent. They are the guild commanders and are insanely strong, the competition in Star-Moon City is much fiercer than here and yet, these four have managed to fight back at entire guilds while also retreating unharmed"
"But I don't recognize the other, he gives off an even stronger aura than the rest"
Many players didn't recognize Leroy as he wasn't clearing dungeons and figthing players as the rest of the team. Paying no mind to them, they arrived at White Fog Canyon after some time.
White Fog Cayon was filled with craters and flames, in the center a dilapidated shrine with large amount of monsters patrolled the surroundings.
Thousands upon thousands of players gathered at the entrance, the elite members of White River City best guilds were at Level 21. They were still lower than their team of 24 Level players, their equipment was also lower quality and the Raven Sanctuary members could tell none of them were Tier 1 Classes.
"We are bound to clash with some people here" Ford smiled looking over at the various guilds.
"Indeed" Leroy nodded, with so many people, there was bound to be conflicts here. On the other hand, they had come because of the Starfire Ore and not to fight over monsters, after all the area around Star-Moon City had many rich leveling areas even better than the ones here.
Members of other guilds also looked over at them with wary expressons.
"Why are they here? Damn they must've come for the boss" Lone Tyrant gritted his teeths, even competitors from other cities have come now.
Without paying attention to other guilds, Leroy and the rest inmediatly entered White Fog Canyon.
Inside they finally found the berserk monsters from the reports.
Crimson-eyed Battle Monkey (Elite Rank)
Level 22
HP 16,000/16,000
The monkeys were taller than the players, being agile and powerful while also wearing weapons, they give players a headache.
The sight seemed more like an all out war than players grinding monsters.
Among the thousands of monkeys were some stronger ones.
Armored Battle Monkey (Special Elite)
Level 24
HP: 54,000/54,000
Anyway, everyone in the team was an expert with high quality gear, these monsters wouldn't be a problem for them.
Ford instructed the members and they got in formation.
"Commander, thousands of monkeys approaches from the sides" someone reported to Ford.
"Keep the formation, I want you to turn this place upside down with your aoe skills" Ford commanded casually.
Soon after, the monkeys moved at them closely. Guild teams looking from the distance tought that even Raven Sanctuary would be hard pressed to fend off against this many berserk monsters. But even before the monkeys managed to get close, hundreds of aoe skills rained down on them.
"How can they have so many aoe attacks?"
Not only were they wearing high quality equipment, but most members had aoe attack skills, their damage output was equally outstanding, with each dealing over two thousand of damage.
Soon, more than six hundreds monkeys where completely slaughtered, even some Special Elite monsters died while some smarter ones managed to retreat in time.
"The experience here is quite good"
"Indeed, the drops are also decent, it was a good choice to come here"
The team looted the items and continued moving forward. Leaving behind the players with wonderful faces.
More monkeys besieged them but were put down quickly. Soon from the front, a monkey in black leather armor appeared commanding many other monkeys.
Battle Monkey Warchief (Chieftain Rank)
Level 25
HP 140,000/140,000
"Well, an interesting fellow has appeared" Ford said while looking at the monkeys who seemed to become stronger when following these one.
He once again gave commands and the Guardian Knights and Shield Warriors received various buffs from the priests. Each of them had at least 4,700 HP points making them stronger than the top ones from most first rate guilds.
This time, they didn't cast AOE skills so soon and let the monsters attack the front line, else these players would die from boredom.
The monkeys were actuallly quite strong but none of them managed to push back the players. The rest of the melee classes joined and started killing too. Ford and his sons approached the Warchief.
Bloom! Ford and the warchief collided and both sides were pushed back a few meters. Ford's axe left his hand as it transformed into a streak of light and impacted fully in the chest of the monkey.
-3,210
"It actually has a high defense" Ford was quite surprised at his damage, even when casting a skill he dealt only 3,000 damage.
Ford Jr, Mark and Robb were killing the monsters nearby preventing them from intefering.
Ford and the Warchief continued to exchange blows, the old man didn't allow the priests to heal him and used his full strength to fight the monster. Altough he didn't acquired a Tier 1 Set Equipment, his stats were still very strong, his axe especially gave him a great deal of power, as time passed, Ford seemed to only grow stronger and even casted his berserk skills, he started suppresing the chieftain monkey. The warchief actually had very powerful skills and Ford was forced to use some martial skills to evade and approach the monkey.
The monkey started showing a ugly expression while being supressed, Ford then used his a skill from his axe, "Collapsing Star" he chanted the skill name and the axe gave off a powerful aura as it radiated white light.
Bang!
-42,650 Critical Hit
The skill hit the Warchief fully in the head and an explosion of white light was produced, it managed to reach some monkeys and they died inmediatly upong contact.
As expected of a sure-kill skill, it was very powerful and had a longer cooldown than other skills, however the effect of it was huge, the final damage was an overkill as the Warchief didn't even had 30,000 hp remaining, but seems that Ford got bored of fighting it.
All this while, Leroy didn't even raised a finger and just followed the group, he wanted to fight the Chieftain and test his new strength, but that old man rushed first and didn't let him participate.
'It seems that I'll have to wait for a while...' He looked over at Mark and Ford Jr. who where wearing the Tier 1 Yin-Yang Walker Set Equipment and couldn't help but sigh. On the other hand, there was also BadHalo wearing one and a Guardian Knight called Olympus used the remaing Set. Olympus was a friend of Robb from the army, a very talented player and top tier expert.
All of them wanted to test their strength and the monkeys were not enough of a challenge, only the Chieftain could be used as a good dummy, yet they were quite rare to see.
