Bab 7: Rare and Divine Beast
If Elina graded Rain on his very first hands on test then she would give him a pass. Even if he fainted before he could defeat the bear, it was still worth a passing score. Urarean Bear was that strong. It was one type of bears that was a rare beast. It was a test of how strong Rain was. She never expected that he could injure the bear so much. Cynthia on the other hand was impressed and thinking a way to explain how the Urarean bear was almost defeated by a human that just started to Rain. Cynthia knew that Elina was crazy strong but she never thought that someone was almost as strong as those 3 including Elina. Hanz, Elina, Linnie were those 3 that was a living history. Cynthia was one of the living witness of how they easily cleared a Tower that almost killed a whole kingdom. They were that strong. Even if all of the Elves combined their power they couldn't tell if they could win with any of them. They were strong especially his father but Elina and the other two was a lot stronger than them. They were as strong as their ancestors.
"It's such a pity. He was still weak." Elina said after studying Cynthia. She knew her too much. She knew that Cynthia was hooked. She would train Rain whole heartedly. It was really a pity though. If she could just use elementals she would teach Rain on her own. But, she couldn't be selfish. It was their life which was on the line. "So how about I heal your bear and proceed to what we have agreed." Elina asking Cynthia looking at Rain's sorry state.
When Rain fainted, they immediately came out of their hiding spot and stopped the bear. The bear was only a way to test how strong Rain was. It was all of Elina's plan on convincing Cynthia that Rain has a potential better than her. But first, he needed a teacher who could guide him with the basics, so was with archery and using a gun. Elina was the one who introduced guns of elves. It was useful to them especially they were all have an innate talent with elementals. Cynthia was one of the most talented in using guns and bows with the exception of her taming skills and her innate talent with elementals. She was that strong yet she still couldn't be compare to Elina. They were best friends but when it came to helping someone that wasn't them, then they wouldn't care if you were their friends. That's why they reached a consensus that if she thought Rain has a potential then she would train her.
Rain didn't betray her trust. He did what almost none could do except those who were expert. If you asked Cynthia if she could deal with the bear then it was an easy answer. She definitely could, in fact, it was her Urarean bear. But, among those who was on their ranks then she couldn't say that they could. It was one of the beast that were rare and strong. And it was only on it's baby size. Rain was mistaken about it being a grown up. It was still a baby. It could definitely grow as much as 10 meters. If it was a grown up then he would just slap Rain and he would die.
"So what's your plan? After I trained him and gave my approval, what's next?"
"We'll see about that but first train him like how your father would train you."
"Are you sure? He might vomit blood and lose determination if he knew that the hell with you wasn't hell yet."
"Of course! I'm sure of it. He could definitely keep up with you. Don't forget to let him hunt his own food. I would only come back when it's night."
"You are so much. He was just young! I feel sorry for him." Cynthia said but her face tell another story. They would train him like his life was really on the line.
At the same time.
"Yes, that's right. Keep it up. Let your ability absorb the beast power."
"Ugh!" a man on a black robe grunted with his eyes close and focusing that made him sweat. It was only a month after Nifa took him as her disciple. She really was right before then to save the young man. She could definitely surpass her someday. He has a lot of potential that even her felt envy towards the young man. She was teaching him how to borrow the beast's power. It was one of the summoner's power. It still depended on one's ability but with the young man's ability, it was limitless. For example, Nifa's ability was to memorize and analyze beast that she defeated. She could then borrow the power of it using her power as a summoner. Summoner was contracted with the beasts. But Nifa didn't need a contract, she just have to kill or study it for a brief time before she could completely copy it's ability. Then power it up through the use summoner's skill. It was like a buff. She was a walking encyclopedia of beast she defeated. Summoner was a rare job or class that anyone couldn't want to. It was different from taming, where taming just need to get the beast approval before it would accompany them. They might leave you if they sense danger of may risk it's life. But with summoners, it was a different story. They would risk their lives before you. But Nifa wasn't that kind of Summoner she was more a brawler than a summoner but she was based on summoner's class because her ability leaned on beasts she defeated.
That was why the young man named Liam was that strong. He could borrow the beast's power and also summon it to fight on his stead. They were loyal beasts and to make it more awesome, he could control divine beast which ascended. Which meant that they were now a human like beast. Wasn't that awesome? If divine beast like Liam have could easily been defeated then Nifa wouldn't be envious. She could just wish that Liam could fully control the power of those divine beast that he could somehow made a mutual contract of. She looked at the beast or more like a human beast that showed its true form. It had a white hair that reached its neck. It was a man. The only difference of the beast and human were they retained something of their form after ascending. The human beast has it's white tail and white tiger ears. It was a white tiger. It was one of the rare beast that was fearless and agile.
The beast looked at Nifa like it was telling her that if something happened to Liam then he wouldn't care to kill all of them or at least injure her. Nifa was still strong even if its a divine beast. They were strong but they were not that OP. They don't have skills, at least most of them didn't. They only relied on their instinct and their strength. The beast was not yet that strong so she could stop it but she couldn't kill it, the same could be said to the beast.
She sighed. If she just didn't see a promising future then she wouldn't be taking a disciple. She was not old yet. But she could say that it was time to let the young ones to handle the matter of the towers. It was too exhausting. The last time that she participated on conquering one was with Hanz. They did most of the fighting but she did also have some. But still, she couldn't compare to the other 3. The tower was just too strong. It was mostly rare beast and some divine beast. She was just thankful that there was no Awakened there. If there was, she couldn't tell if they would succeed.
"It's been 6 months, huh."
