Hearing his grandfather's words Luke felt both admiration and elation. He admired the man for pinning down the rising threats or possible dark horses so early on, while felt elated that he now held some clues towards that key piece in his chess game.
"Thanks gramps, I will start my search in there soon."
"Wait a second, don't hurry so much," the old Vallauris snickered at Luke's excited reaction.
Luke's interest was piqued, "Is there anything else?"
"How is the fight with the Dragon going?"
"We are in a standstill right now."
"You know how to deal with it." Bill Vallauris' sounded contemplative yet stern. The Dragon was really unpredictable and they couldn't afford having him roaming around.
"I do," there was an evil smirk tugging on the corners of his lips. He was going to give the dragon a surprise: a big one at that.
After some discussion on the specifics of the plans Luke left the mansion for his office. It stood in the centre of Veturia, and ironically it was facing the Greydale headquarters. The two skyscrapers were standing tall against each other as if in a face off of power and grandeur. None lost in either sense similar to their heads that also refused to yield to the other.
Arriving at his office doors he entered with lazy strides and sat on his desk chair. The doors soon opened to greet Paul, carrying a bewildered expression on his face.
'How come the old man let him off so early?'
His thoughts, however, were not allowed to wander any further.
"Get the plane ready for tomorrow. There is a place I need to visit."
By the time Paul could process Luke's orders and the rationale behind it, he was given a number of commands to carry on. So all he could do was to contact the different heads of their divisions to get things done according to their impulsive boss' request.
Seems like a storm was brewing.

Sia returned to her office after finishing a straightforward case of laminotomy. Though it wasn't too challenging, she still felt unusually exhausted after the events that came down as a rollercoaster. It seemed like the best way to escape the reality of facing the enraged Devil was to go straight to the bed tonight. By tomorrow he would surely be more at ease with today's events. She could also hide the marks on her neck with make up, so that his scrutinizing eyes won't notice them and would gradually forget about it.
Her mood lifted much more, and she felt so content with her decision that she felt like patting her back. She was surely a genius: she even knew how to deal with problematic people. The only problem was...
The moment she opened the door to the office she found him lying on the sofa. Worse was that the moment she came in he put aside his laptop and crossed his arms in front of him, his aura dropping a few degrees lower.
'Do I run away or do I stay? No I guess it's more about 'to live or not to live'... ughh, but I still want to live...'
"Umm, Cain?"
"Don't even try."
He was angry: there was no room for negotiation. She needed to change tactics,
"I was wrong... I am sorry." She said meekly, but her eyes were still crystal clear. She seemed to be getting better at acting all coy in front of him.
"Where did you go wrong?"
"From beginning till the end. But I know you will be understanding and won't fret the small things, right?" she blinked her eyes innocently: she had to check out more tactics on the internet: she was running out of options here!
However, he only gave her a sidelong glance: did she think he was so easy to coax?
He walked to her silently, however to her, his every step felt like that of the grim reaper. Why was his gaze turning more and more murderous with each step!?
Only some time later, after he made sure that appropriate care for the bruises was taken, did Sia finally heave a sigh of relief. This guy... was there really a need to be so serious about some bruises?
"Hey Cain, why do I feel like I am forgetting something these days?" she was being honest, but at the same time she was happy to change the heavy topic.
He carefully watched her: something? More correctly some things! But was he going to say that to her? The answer was:
"No."
Sia shook her head in contemplation. Where was her so called pedantic memory? Was it this shameless King's fault? She nodded to herself:
'It's all because of him.'
However, as if by fate, at the moment her phone rang revealing the caller ID.
"Ahh! this is it! How could I forget?" she exclaimed and was too excited to notice the chillness in Cain's gaze.
"Hey Alex! I am so glad you called!" she chirped happily. She really wanted to use this time to get closer to two men: Cain and Alex. Alex gave a really nice vibe that felt extremely complementary to someone else's.
'Hehe.. seems like I still have more work to do.'
"Yeah right? If I didn't call you, you would forget about the existence of your cousin. Is your boyfriend really that important?" He complained unceasingly. What was wrong with this girl? He had finally accepted a female into his life and she did nothing but to ignore him!
Now Sia could clearly feel the cold glare at her back. Seemed like there wasn't any other way but to sacrifice a certain someone for a greater good of the universe.
"Of course my boyfriend is the most important! Is that even a question?" She remarked in a self righteous way but her voice still carried undertones of a slight mirth. Heck! She was going all out.
And her gamble paid off: the pissed-off King seemed to have calmed down. With a slight smile she approached and encircled her slim waist with his arms. It felt so right to him to lean on her in such a way: and he was the only one to be able to do so. This felt to great to describe.
Though she felt the butterflies in her stomach at his gesture, this time she didn't neglect Alex: she just prayed that Alex wouldn't be too broken.
But well, Alex had no time to break down as his mind went completely blank: was the girl joking? How dare Cain monopolise the princess he decided to protect!? No wonder Will had a killer's aura around him the last time: the guy was outrageous and the girl was too fierce in her protection, fierce to the extent of infuriating others!
"For the sake of the blood flowing in us go show off your affection somewhere else, please," he said in exasperation. He knew better when to step back, however unwilling he was to do so.
But he needed to get to the business. He called her for a reason and he wasn't going to let Cain get in the way. He needed to talk to her: whether her jealous and show-off boyfriend wanted it or not. Who did that man thing he was!?
"Hey Sia, can we meet? Just the two of us. I can ask him specifically, I just want some more time with my sister: nothing more nothing less," of course he wasn't going to express his true thoughts so he chose his words carefully. He wasn't so tired of living as to provoke the Devil King himself.
Sia carefully looked back to read his expression. What was the guy going to say? However, instead of speaking to her Cain simply snatched her phone away in a natural way to deal with the situation himself.
Guys I haven't had access to internet the past few days. Moreover, I have finally moved out so it was quite a mess with all the unpacking. I am really sorry that I couldn't keep the promise of the mass release then, but there will be two chapters now and three more a few hours later. Hope you enjoy them.
