Why does she know about the formations? The books she read in her spare time in the other world and logic. She tried it so many times when she found out that she had powers. 

How to use it? You have that thing, the power whisp, but what is actually power whisp? It is something that was made out of pure energy. What does have energy? Everything! Living things, dead things, existence itself...

But power whisps are made out of many different kinds of energy. Only some energies are stronger some less strong. By the purification, the energies that Kendra used were so pure and strong that it could actually strengthen her own powers.
