Bab 55: Looking for us?
The place the lackeys were supposed to meet back up with Prudence was an infamous brothel called the Tatter Squeezer known for wild late night shows for bikers and truckers from all around.
The duo pulled up in their military grade humvee which attracted quite a bit of attention but when the back door was kicked flying far away to proceed the arrival of a giant burly easily seven and a half foot tall young man most wisely minded their own business.
He was followed by a heavily armored bounty hunter type with a built in jet pack with a pair of mildly enhanced swords at his waist (got them from the now dead cultivators).
No-one tried to stop them or ask for cover to enter yet the bounty hunter tossed a handful of gold into the street behind him simply saying over his speaker "Fuck off if you know what's good for you" before they entered the building.
Inside the place was jamming with music while exotic dancers moved all over to entertain the thirsty crowd.
Quickly a server came over to the rather extremely pair to ask how they could be of service but was scared stiff when they were handed a bag of gold with the orders to "Bring out Prudence, tell him someone he's been looking for is looking for him and don't be telling me you don't know the cultivator I'm talking about as I can smell that asshole a mile away."
She quickly ran off to tell her boss who freaked sending someone to the back while he came to talk to the strangers. "Humble guests we really thank you for your service but is there anyway you most distinguished individuals could have your... meeting outside as to not disturb our other guests. We would love to give you free services in the future if such a generous arrangement could be made." He pleaded hoping to avoid a catastrophic event occuring within his establishment and the reply he received left him dumbstruck.
Darick simply pulled out a gold bar as if it was a mere paperweight from his jacket to drop it on the ground before saying "Prudence came with a kid and he is the prize so if you would take care of him then the victors will return to claim his freedom."
With that the two left the building to wait a ways off in a clear show of a combative nature. It didn't take Prudence long to come out with a cocky strut with his sword resting over one shoulder.
"You two sure have grown stronger fast as it is almost unbelievable that you could defeat my men without injury but you should have run away when you had your chance, such foolish pride will be your undoing." Prudence claims boastfully before springing to action with incredible speed to close the gap between them.
Darick charges to meet him head first while Tral uses his jetpack to gain some height before causing explosions in an attempt to force their enemy to dodge but Prudence runs right through them only barely slowing down his pace as he starts to laugh.
His laughter stops when his sword makes contact with Darick's fist which doesn't cleave or relent nearly as much as he thought it would as it is only knocked back with a jolt as Darick's other fist uses that momentum to shoot out to land a blow back which actually forces Prudence back a couple steps much to his surprise.
This exchange although only less then a moment gives Tral time to fly over head before he launches a crimson crescent energy blade at Prudence's back he deflects with his own palm strike but leaves him open to more punch's.
One on one who would definitely beat them but facing their teamwork from both sides he is left with little chance to fight back putting him in a passive defensive position that isn't working in his favor in the long run but he doesn't want to relent to two people weaker then himself so he hastily breaks a talisman that abruptly forms a protective barrier around his body allowing him to ignore the attacks so that he can go on the offensive against Darick to unleash a flurry of sword strikes that should be able to cut apart cultivators slightly past his own level which sends Darick flying back but he doesn't fall down as he digs his feet into the ground to leave two deep trenches of dirt.
Prudence is furious that his attacks hold little effect on the body of his opponent but he can't stay still Tral starts making a thick acidic bile all around him to eat away at the barrier forcing him to keep moving only to face Darick's heavy fists again.
After several minutes of combat Prudence's shield is starting to flicker and he has yet to deal any damage to his opponents causing him to start to wonder if he can actually subdue these enemies by himself.
"You two really have grown a lot since we last fought. I'll admit I greatly underestimated your abilities after all but you better watch your back as I am only the weakest of my masters disciples. My brothers and sisters will definitely find you to drag your ruined bodies back to the master for our reward soon." He threatens with a tone full of malice before making a hasty retreat to the west at incredible speed leaving the semi victorious pair behind.
They decide that it would be pointless to chase after him as he is still faster so they return to the bar to check up on Gè Míng who is jumping up and down by the door cheering them on as the owners couldn't actually stop him from running about.
"Wow you guys sure are strong I thought you said you weren't cultivators but that was super cool how you made him run away like that by working together." Gè Míng couldn't hold back his enthusiasm a they came back to rescue him.
