Bab 943: Heartache

Ye Yuwei began to go down the mountain with Yuan Mo on her back. 

"It's not that painful, Mrs. Gu. You don't have to go so fast," said Yuan Mo who rested on Ye Yuwei's back with his hands clasped around her neck. 

Yu Yuwei carried Yuan Mo on her back and didn't slow down after what Yuan Mo said. How could it not be painful when his ankle was visibly swollen? 

"Just bear with it a little more. You will be fine once we get down the mountain," Ye Yuwei comforted him softly. 

"My mom said boys shouldn't cry," said Yuan Mo softly. 

Ye Yuwei's mind went blank for a second and remembered what Grandpa Yuan said about Yuan Mo not having seen his parents for more than a year because his parents were in the army. 

"Well, that doesn't apply to kids. It's okay to cry if it hurts." Ye Yuwei began to feel sorry for Yuan Mo. The little boy that she just discovered who always played with her daughter and made her daughter laugh had wounds of his own.
