Bab 13: Chapter 13
The sight before us was right out of a horror story. Two of the slaves were dead, their body's left rotten on the floor, the foul smell had filled the whole deposit and was even leaking outside, I couldn't help but feel sick. Between them was a child. While still alive her eyes looked dead, that was until she saw us at that moment her eyes became filled with hate. Ignea had fainted and was nowbin my arms, i gently laid her down on a bench and faced the old man.
-What is this?
-Oh my, seems like two of them died, such a pity! I'm sorry young man but I guess you can't chose anymore! The two of them probably died last night.
-Last night? Their corpses are fucking rotten you bastard! They've been dead for at least a fucking week!
-Watch your mouth kid, do you want to take that brat or not?
This bastard...how can he be so calm? Those have been dead for long enough to rot and their corpses have been left there with a kid in a cage!
-I'll take take her, but after the quest is done you'd better never show your face around.
-Ahahahah, so scary. Are you one of those idiots that support the crown prince and his equality bullshit? Let me tell you something, even if he is the crown prince there is no way he'll actualy become king, the entire nobility suports the younger brother! There may even be a revolution to make sure power is changed.
-In that case there will be a change in my plans.
I took the old man by the neck and lifted him in the air and put pressure on his neck so he won't be able to talk anymore. This guy...he can't be called human and so I treated him as such, i used my magic and set his insides on fire and dropped him to the ground. I let him burne alive from inside out and went to the child in the cage. Those eyes filled with hate were now filled with fear, she bacame warry of me and went to the back of the cage. Poor soul, she seems to be from the beast race. The beastman are a race of demi-humans with animal characteristics like animal ears, fangs and somethimes tails. I opened the cage and looked at her. In the meanwhile Ignea woke up and came runnig with her arms wide open and entered the cage. The little girl's fear turned into shock as Ignea suddenly hugges her and started crying. I couldn't help but smile and let out a laugh since the two of them look so cute together.
- You can come out of the cage little girl, you're safe now, no one will treat you badly anymore, ain't that right Ignea?[Seiji]
-That's right, we'll protect you from now on so there is no need to worry anymore![Ignea] The young girl started crying and hugged Ignea back, the two of them stood like that until she calmed down and came out.
She looked at me and then groveled. Poor girl still thought that she was a slave.
-Please take good care of me, master.
-Get up, there is no need for you to do that since I am not your master. But since you have no where to go, if you want to you can work for me. The pay is good, food and housing are included and I think the work hours aee resonable.
-But... are you sure? I mean you don't have to pay a slave... so why?
- You see, from where I'm from we can't force people to be our slaves so...
-In that case, once again, please take care of me from now on mister, miss!
This little girl...she has a strong hearth, even after her parents died instead of trowing a tantrum she chose to serve me in order to cope with her loss and repay me at the same time. I can't help bit become curious of what fate holds in store for her.
- Yeah, we will.
Seeing as I killed our method of transportation we all went to an inn for tonight to rest and think about our next step.
