Kyle knows that it's going to be hard to get blessings from Anna's grandfather and brother but he doesn't get why would Anna's grandfather doesn't want to accept him?

He is not some scumbag on the streets. He is a proper man and knows how to greet the elders, is he really not likable in Marcus Coleman's perspective?

As much as Elijah wants to tell Kyle why he is so against Kyle pursuing Anna he just can't because only pain and sadness overwhelm him whenever he speaks about that event.

After saying that Elijah left Kyle and Erik in the living and went to his room.

"I guess you and Anna are not fated to be, huh?" Erik shakes his head as if he is disappointed that it is impossible for Anna and Kyle to be together. He only said this in a joking manner but it doesn't seem Kyle find it very funny.
