Bab 31: Revenge 30: Youth Days (2)
"Shut your mouth.
When she said that Zack immediately obeyed her. He doesn't have the guts to talked back to her. He's afraid that if he does there's no more tomorrow for him.
Zack realizes that he's being a wimp in front of this woman. He's never been like this to anyone and yet this woman can make him bowed down to her like nothing. His pride is starting to deplete because of this unknown woman.
Mary was about to speak to him again when the doorknob was slowly turning. Without much of a choice, Mary hid behind the door as it slowly opened. A middle-aged man came in sight wearing a black suit and black glasses, the way he dressed he looked like he's from the movie "Men in Black".
"Excuse me, young sir, did a young woman came in here?" He asked.
Zack couldn't speak, he doesn't know what to respond to his question. He secretly looks behind the door and saw Mary who's getting ready to take down that guy. The middle-aged man noticed his line of sight and was about to look behind the door when Zack spoke to stop him, "No one else came in my room except you mister and please get out I need to rest." Zack's voice was steady and full of authority. The man just nodded and left the room.
Zack let out a heavy sigh, his heart was beating too fast. Who was that man? He looked so dangerous and what was this woman did to him? Zack turns his head towards Mary's direction.
"Why didn't you tell him that I was here the whole time?" She asked.
Zack didn't respond to her. He's debating on whether he should answer her question or not. Noticing that he's not answering her question she frowned and asked, "Why are you not answering me?"
"Because you said shut my mouth," Zack said in a low voice but it's enough for Mary to hear.
"When I asked you, you speak and I ask again, why didn't you tell him that I was here the whole time?"
"Because he looked dangerous and I think a girl like you can't handle him since you're hiding here." Mary's mouth twitches in annoyance by what Zack just said. The way she interprets it, he must have thought that she was just a fragile one that can be easily broken.
"Is that so?" The coldness in her voice was very clear. 'Is there something that I just said wrong?' Zack said his mind.
An hour of long silence has passed and Mary decided to leave the place. Seeing that she's about to leave Zack felt that it's not right for her to leave like that so he decided to ask her name. "Y-your name."
"Mary. Mary Adams." After Mary said that she left the room swiftly.

Days have passed since the unexpected meeting with Mary. He tried to find her after he got discharged from the hospital but there was no fruit in his search. Every trace of hers is gone as if she never existed, there's even a time that Mary gave him a wrong name that's why he can't find her. Depressed that he cannot find Mary he decided to focus his attention on training if he wants to surpass his father, General Eric Fischer.
In the military compound, Zack is practicing his shooting skills when his father's right-hand man came to give him something, a package. "Young master Zack." Zack stopped and look at the man's direction.
"What is it?"
"A package just for you. It was sent directly here." Zack furrowed his brows in confusion. In all the places why would someone send him a package here in the military compound? He or she could've sent it to his residence house. He took the package and then opened, to his surprise he saw a gun, a gun that he's been eyeing a limited edition gun that's in the market, unfortunately, he can't get his hands on it when he came to buy it, it was too late somebody already bought the last one. But now that gun that he wanted is right in front of him!
The man who brought him the package was shocked as well, almost everyone in the compound wants to own such magnificent gun and the young master got his hands on it by free! Zack who's totally happy by the gift he received, he searched thoroughly inside the package wanting to know who send it and saw a card and it said;
'A simple gift as thanks from last time.
M.A'
The man peeked on Zack's shoulder and saw what's written in the card. "Young master, who's M.A?" Zack sat down on the ground, crossed his legs and arms and trying hard to remember if he knows anyone with an initial M.A.
Another day has passed and he still can't think of a person who's initial is M.A. At the moment he's having breakfast with his father and his father noticed the frustration in his face he asked, "What's troubling you, Zack?" Zack looked at his father and shake his head in response lying that there's nothing troubling him. He did not believe his son but he just disregarded it and told him an important matter. "I want you to meet someone later. She will be helping you with your training." Zack just nodded in understanding, he couldn't care less about who's that person is as long as they can help him improve.
Bab 32: Revenge 31: Youth Days (3)
"Son, meet Mary Adams. From today until the next five months she will help you with your training." Zack stared at the woman who's going to help him in his training, he's utterly speechless. The woman that's he's trying to find has appeared before him.
"Mary Adams." He said in a low voice and then the initial M.A. suddenly lingered in his head. Zack pointed his index finger at Mary with a surprise face. "You... you're M.A?!" Mary found it amusing seeing his expressions from the beginning until now. He showed so many expression that she cannot express freely herself.
Zack's father tilts his head in confusion, "M.A? You two already knew each other?" He asked Mary.
"Yes. I met him once at the hospital and I also send him a gift as thanks for his help," Mary said politely to Zack's father which really shocked him. As far as he knows Mary is not someone who will respect her elders that easily for her everyone is her enemy and it's hard to earn her trust. He observed how Mary looked at his son's direction, she looked interested in him but not in a romantic way.
He kinda felt scared by the way she looks at his son, looks like his son is going to be Mary's new toy to play with. 'I'm sorry. son. You just have to survive for five months until then good luck.'
Mary did come from a common family without any power against people like them but Mary is someone you can't just mess around with. She has kept the other gangs in low profile she makes sure that they won't cause any problems with the government. Zack's father did a background check on her to find out who thought her the skills that she has now, but he couldn't find anything it's more like doesn't exist and she learned it by herself.
One of the reasons why Zack's father wouldn't mess with her recklessly is because of the other gangs she controls. If by some chance that the government really interfere with her business she can turn those gangs to mess around the government and the government will have a hard time dealing with it and her tactics are hard to predict. The second reason is Mary saved his life when some terrorist ambushed him and to pay for that debt the least he could do is to help her when she needed his help.
When Mary called him he was expecting that she would request him to pay her back for saving his life but that was not the case and quite the reverse of his anticipation. She's going to help him again by requesting that she would want to help his son in his training. In his thought this is not benefitting Mary at all, this request only benefits him and his son. At first, he couldn't understand why but now he felt really bad at his own son.
While Zack's father has some deep thoughts Zack himself was excited to meet the person who sent the gun to him. M.A. and Mary Adams so obvious yet he couldn't point his finger on it, right now he felt so stupid to himself. He got so many questions for her like how did she get her hands on a magnificent gun? What is her real identity? And many more questions popping in his mind.
"Looks like your son has a lot question for me, General. How about we start the training tomorrow after all five months is far from now." Mary said and Zack's father just nodded.
Zack asks the questions that he's been holding back and was quite surprised to hear her response and at the same time idolizes her. He learned that she's a leader of a certain gang and control most gangs and keep them behave. She told Zack about the incident in the hospital, she told him that the guy in a black suit was chasing her because she got found out being undercover spying in their headquarters, Zack was surprised with that, 'How skillful is she?' He asks in his mind but didn't say it out loud. Zack also learned about how she got the gun for him she said that she has many powerful connections in the black market and it's only easy for her to get it and it's a no big deal for her.
After getting answers from her and it followed by the next day they started their training. It was a hellish training for him, Mary didn't let him rest until it's break time. She made him carry heavy stuff for his muscles and also she taught him taekwondo, aikido, karate and many more types of martial art in just a month. Everything she teaches is very tiring for his body and she also teases him whenever there's a chance.

Remembering his hardships in the past Zack sighs deeply and Zen notices that his father depress face. "Dad?" Hearing his son's voice he looked at Zen and smiled bitterly. "Is something wrong?" Zen asked.
"No, it's just I suddenly remember the hellish training that I've been through." He said and look at Mary who's face is full of worry.
This is his second time seeing her worried face. The first time he saw it is when Mary's husband sudden disappearance eleven years ago. It still a surprise to him to see her like that, after all, she rarely shows her emotion to others.
"What a coincidence seeing you here out of all places, Mary." He said. Mary looked at the guy who just called her name. To her surprise, she saw her old friend, Zack the one she toyed too much back in their youth days. She saw his grinning face, he still looks handsome as he is before as if time has stopped for him.
Realizing what he meant by that she also grinned at him. "Golly, I didn't expect to meet here too... out of all places... I think fate is playing with us."
