It was half past four when Han Meixiu sent a message to Zen, telling him she already finished the task and if she there's still some word to be done.
Zen, immediately asked the other member who needed trivial help. Something that the young woman could easily do.
Normally, the members of digital team would make the unimportant tasks the last on their list. Sometimes those were a bit complicated and needed to have full and undivided attention to do.
Most of the easiest tasks were already finished during that time of the day.
But since no one was able to give new tasks, Zen decided to give one of his assignments.
When Han Meixiu received the task, she read it several times just in case she misunderstood the instruction.
The task was to get the VIP list and their basic information but the surprising part was the target company.
It was none other than the Imperial Chain of Hotels.
'It's owned by the Liu.' Han Meixiu murmured.
It was stated that she must attempt to get the list at most three times. If she failed on the third, then she should let it go and report.
If she's successful, she also need to report in detail what she did.
'Maybe they wanted to check the reliability of the security of the data.'
As she understood the underlying meaning of the task, she started to work.
*
Liu Zijian walked towards the digital team area but hushed the people to not disturb the woman who has been engrossed on what she was doing.
It was already time to leave but it seemed she didn't want to let go of her work, just yet.
Since the boss was around, other member didn't dare to be idle. They also decided to kept themselves busy while inwardly crying.
"I did it!" Han Meixiu exclaimed forgetting that she wasn't alone.
"Good." Liu Zijian said smiling as he walked towards her to shorten their distance.
It was only that time that she realized what she had done.
She blushed and apologized for the noise she made.
"I still need to do the detailed report."Han Meixiu said in a soft voice.
Whatever she was doing, only Zen and Liu Zijian knew. Before the former gave her the task, he asked the boss if it was fine. Liu Zijian agreed.
The young man looked at his wife. Even if he would drag her out of the office she would be distracted as her mind would still linger on that report.
"Okay, I'll wait for you in my office."
"It won't take long." Han Meixiu promised. Although the report should be detailed, she already listed down what she did and she would only organize her notes so the person that would read it could understand.
"You guys can go now." Liu Zijian said looking around. He wasn't oblivious about their predicament. They already finished their tasks for the day, there's no need to stay longer because his wife was still there.
One of the head from other team eventually came.
"Second Sir, will you also attend the welcoming party?"
Liu Zijian would normally grace them with his presence. He would just toast with them and he would leave right after.
He glanced quickly at his wife and nodded.
*
"Jian, I'm done." Han Meixiu was smiling as she entered his office.
"There's a welcome party tonight. Do you want to attend?" Liu Zijian said as he stood up and took her over coat.
"What about you?"
"I normally drop by to give a toast and leave afterwards." He answered as he took her hand and walked towards the door.
"Let's go then." Han Meixiu answered.
Attending pasties wasn't really her favorite as she would normally seclude herself and would only observe from the back.
But if it would be with Liu Zijian, it might be different.
*
As the two walked towards the room of the reserved place, they could hear the festive noise inside when the door opened.
"They're here!"
The people quieted down a bit and gave the two seats. Foods were quickly served as everyone greeted the couple.
It was actually the first event that the couple attended publicly without the older Lius being around.
For those who came from Q City, they never imagined that their Sir Second would be gentle next to a lady.
Although most of them already heard about the two it was still surreal to see them together as a couple.
Hearing about them was totally different from seeing the two together.
Han Meixiu was a bit on the edge as she could feel those gazes again. She even wondered how those actions affected her when in the past she didn't care about them?
Was it because the way they looked was genuine and not pretentious?
Han Meixiu shook her head slightly and bashfully took what Liu Zijian just placed on her plate.
"Why are eating so little?" Liu Zijian asked.
The people around eventually realized that it must be their actions that affected the young madam, thus they eventually shifted their attention to something else.
It was only then that Han Meixiu started to relax. Unlike her, Liu Zijian wasn't affected at all.
Han Meixiu thought that maybe she should learn from him.
Han Meixiu never thought that the party was informal and that even for someone like her who didn't get along with people well, she enjoyed it.
They had few drinks and because Liu Zijian was with his wife, he didn't leave right after giving a toast. He secretly observed and saw that Han Meixiu was quite enjoying the time.
Although at first, the people were some what reserved, with the help of alcohol, they eventually felt relax.
There were even few people who dared to ask the young couple how did they meet and such but there were also who 'scolded' and controlled them.
When the two left, the party was at its peak.
Han Meixiu also found out the names of the people in her team.
Before getting on the car, a person in black handed something to Han Meixiu. Liu Zijian didn't react.
This person already informed him earlier that he must give a letter to the young woman personally.
Liu Zijian knew he was not one of his men. If he could send a message to him without alerting his security people, it simply meant he's harmless and he's probably the people Han Meixiu's mother sent to guard her daughter.
With a bit of reluctance, Han Meixiu accepted the card but didn't open it afterwards. She carefully placed it inside her pouch and got on the car.
"It's from her, right?" Han Meixiu asked when the car started to move.
"Yes." Liu Zijian simply answered.
"It's a response." Han Meixiu didn't know what kind of emotions she's having.
