Cloey's eyes narrowed as she saw Ben with a beautiful woman. She saw him trying on armour and connected the dots. What she didn't like was the way the woman was staring at her man, lustful and greedy.
A strange feeling came from her gut caused her to protective. Cloey gave a charming smile and walked over and grabbed Ben's arm. She placed her head on his shoulder and asked Emma, "Hi, I'm Cloey. You are?"
"Emma. I own this store." Emma's eyes darted back and forth between Ben and Cloey, trying to see what kind of relationship they had.
Ben smiled wryly, "Please send the remaining of the armour to the City Lord mansion when they are ready." He took Cloey's hand and walked out of the shop.
"You know I wanted to do some shopping in there." Cloey smiled.
Ben scratched the back of his head in embarrassment, "Sorry. I'll see you back at the mansion." Giving her a light kiss he left and heading to the city's south gate.
Ben saw that the number of guards had doubled and seemed to be better quality than before. Ben saw a familiar man in bright shiny armour that stuck out like a sore thumb.
"Lane. How is going?" Ben asked.
"Good. All your orders have been followed." Lane said quickly.
Ben gave a slight smile and said, "You're pissed that I didn't send you south. I get that but I need you here. I need you to protect the city because James and I are leaving tomorrow morning. The city will be under your protection. I just came here to tell you that."
Ben walked out of the city and into the forest.
Lane watched him leave with a complex look on his face.

Ben's body felt like it was overflowing with power. Clenching his fist, he said, "Awesome! Hey Takon! You awake yet? I bet I can kick your ass now!"
'I'd rather not.' Takon said sluggishly.
"Finally up I see. Feel stronger?" Ben asked.
'Yes. The flame finally fused with my body.' Takon was giddy with happiness. He had been trying to fusee with the flame for months and now finally he succeeded.
'Not because of you lizard. You would have needed years to fuse with that high grade flame but because of Ben it only took a day.' Ava chimed in, cutting Takon down.
"Okay enough you two. Same team remember?" Ben cut in, not wanting them to bicker.
Both of them went silent at Ben's scolding. Duke was still healing from yesterday's fight so he wasn't real talkative at the moment.
"Okay you two, come out." Ben said as Ava and Takon both appeared in front of him.
Ava's beautiful black feathers seemed to dim the sun when you looked at her. She held her head high and proud as she looked at Takon.
Takon's blue scales sparkled beautifully in the sunlight. He stretched out his wings, giving off a dominating presence. His leathery wings were light gray in colour and had to be over 10m in wingspan. 30cm spikes covered most of his back with two long spikes on his head.
Ben noticed that his scales were slightly different than before, if you looked closely you could see white flames etched on the blue scales. This gave Takon a deep beauty that made Ben get lost in his scales.
Clearing his mind, Ben told them the game plan for today, "Ava, I want you and Takon to fly around and check for any flying beast or monsters that could pose a threat to the city as I train. If you do find a threat, find out if they are intelligent or have an intelligent leader. I want air support unit. If not just kill them all. If you finish that you can come find me or go train on your own. I will be training myself."
Ava nodded and flew into the air, Takon scrambled after her.
…
Takon and Ava flew high above the clouds, enjoying the wind under their wings.
Takon looked at Ava and asked, "Why do you follow him? You are a Phoenix, a pinnacle bloodline beast. You don't need him at all. There must be something I am missing."
Ava gave him a glance before she continued to ignore him.
Takon was angry at her condescending attitude and was about to say something before he was interrupted.
"I'm a cast out, the Phoenix Clan wants me dead. They almost did too. He saved me but not only that, when he learned the Phoenix Clan was hunting me you know what he said? So what. I don't know if I should call it stupidity or bravery but I know that he will have my back. He didn't care I was a Phoenix, a divine beast. In fact, I'm sure he finds it annoying if anything." Ava huffed, a little annoyed.
She then looked at Takon was annoyed eyes, "I told him not to contract you. You are a Wyvern, no more than a grunt in front of the Dragon Race, not worthy of being his soul beast. But he said he rather contract a weak beast and grow with them rather than a divine beast."
Takon was taken back in surprise. 'Rather have a weak beast instead of a divine beast? What kind of idiot is this master of mine?'
Ava saw Takon's face and gave a slight smile, "I had the same look when I first heard his words. But then I realised, with his class he can create divine beasts. So even though you are a pathetic Wyvern now, you should aim for a true dragon. So you better not disappoint or I will kill you myself." Ava threatened as she flew even higher, leaving Takon alone.
…
Ben hunted throughout the day, only stopping for a snack. He was only able to gain one level because of the relatively low level of beast he was hunting. He tried to leave the low level beasts for the hunters and army to hunt to boost their levels.
Looking at his status, Ben noticed something strange. He gained one level but he had 20 free attribute points.
'So it is from my soul beasts. One soul beast equals 5 attribute points.' Ben quickly figured it out but was still shocked at the power of this class.
'My soul is powerful enough for 5 soul beasts so that 25 points plus the original 5 equals 30 points per level, wow.'
Ava and Takon hadn't come back yet so Ben assumed they were having fun killing and shit. He made his way back to the city and went to bed early. Tomorrow he would make his trip up north with James.
