Bab 10: Her heart
*This a throwback chapter!*
That night when Yueming had left Yueling under his care, he brought up the porridge that he cooked and placed it at the side table. Yueling was still motionless looking like a zombie.
"Yueling." No response. Li Jun called her name for a few times but to no avail.
Taking a deep breathe, he moved on the bed and sat in front of Yueling. There was still some distance between them. Starring into her eyes, he called her again. Even though she didn't utter a sound, her body started to tremble a little and there was tears wetting her cheek. Her hands were clenched in a fist.
"You are angry." (A statement of realisation, I guess.)
"You are angry to him, to your mother."
"Unleash your anger. It's okay. Tell me." She seemed to be in daze still. It seems like soft method doesn't works.
"I am them. Hit me. Do it!" He pushed her clenched fist towards his body. Her eyes started to pupil dilated and he saw her trembling hands.
"You are angry at me. Do it!" This time she herself hit Li Jun. She opened her mouth and there was a whimper initially. Later, she hit him harder and started to say something incoherently but he took it all.
"Why? I love them! I love them but they betrayed me! why?" With every single words, he received a beating. "Arghhh!" She wailed and bit on his shoulder. 'Oh damn, it's hurt!' Nevertheless, he let her be.
"I trusted them. So much. Stupid,isn't it?" She continued to lament. Her hands slowly started to unclenched and she cried softly. "I wanted to meet mum for a long time. I thought that she might be missing me too." He coaxed her slowly patting on her shoulder. "She really hate me, isn't she? Why do people hate me? I have no friends, why must they take everyone from me?"
Later, she calmed down. Sometimes, we just need to expressed the emotions that bottled inside us.
"Eat something, okay?" She shook her head. She had no appetite after all.
"Then, what about some chocolates?" She looked up. He reached for two bars of chocolates from his pocket.
"It's your favourite,right?" Strawberry flavoured chocolate. She was bewildered but nodded anyway.
"Eat the porridge first. A mouth for a chocolate. Sounds worthy,isn't it?" He cajoled her. She wanted to decline but thinking of how she had bit his shoulder,she should make things easy for him at least. Slowly, a small smile broke the sadness in her eyes. She giggled a bit, "I never say I want the chocolate."
Li Jun's little smile looked awkward. He rubbed his hair in confusion.
The girl lips curved a bit more upward. She held her hand out. Quickly, Li Jun held the porridge bowl and passed the spoon to her. She tasted the porridge. 'Oh my! Scrumptious!' Upon that, her stomach growled. She bit down her lips in embarrassment.
Li Jun patted her head, "Eat some more. Your brother is worried and there are many people who still love you." She was silent but keep eating slowly. That day, she knew that trials will always be there but your loved ones, will be there for you too. Of course, Li Jun was still not included this time.
