Bab 2: The Beginning 2
The man looked at The Black Wolf as if he was suffering from the injustice "But I call you that because i think you are my best friend. And I treat you like you are my true brother"
"Then why do you became the big one and I am the little one? Between you and me, I am millions years older than you. I should be the big one and you are the little one!" The Black Wolf said it mockingly. It didn't refuse the idea of being brothers with the man because indeed their relationship was as deep as true brothers would have. But as a millions years old being, it couldn't accept to be called little by someone who was clearly younger than him.
Hearing The Black Wolf complain, the man could only laughed dryly "haha. Don't worry for the small detail. What is important is our brother-ship, who cares about who is the big or the little one?"
"I care!"
Hearing The Black Wolf retort, the man could only scratched his head and smiled oddly. "well then, lets just settle it with Brother Black, and you can call me Khali like you always do. How about it?"
"Hmph. Good enough." The Black Wolf reluctantly agreed with the name. seeing the man took a step back, The Black Wolf knew that it also need to take a step back. Who know how long their argument would be if none of them is willing to take a step back.
"By the way, lit.. I mean Brother Black, do you get that thing ?" knowing the topic about "seniority" was closed, the man who was called Khali then hurriedly changed the topic and asked to The Black Wolf.
"Yeah I got it." knowing what he was asking for, The Black Wolf opened its mouth and then a small red liquid was coming out from it's mouth.
"The blood essence of phoenix, it is the main gift that the Heaven and Earth give to The Phoenix race, and also the main factor of their reborn ability." The Black Wolf saw the red liquid which it got from the body of The Phoenix, then it looked at Khali and said " are you sure you don't want to keep this thing for yourself? theoretically, the moment you absorb this blood essence, you will have the ability to reborn just like The Phoenix race. Such heavenly ability was too good to waste."
Seeing The Black Wolf looks as if it was a devil, tempting a human to sin, Khali only smiled at it and said "And the moment I do that is the moment I am condemned by Heaven and Earth, and will be punished by hundreds of Heavenly Lightning with almost zero percent rate of surviving.
Do you think this brother of yours is so stupid to do such suicidal act?"
The Black Wolf only grinned, knowing that it's tempting was a failure "At least I know you will live long and not do something stupid with such cowardice guts of yours."
Commented like that by The Black Wolf, Khali wasn't angry and just smiled wryly.
"Let's go back and return this blood to those old bird." imagining the long journey ahead, khali could only sighed and grumbled "Such a long way to go. Why the Heaven and Earth didn't just send those old bird to do the job. It would be much easier..."
Before Khali could finish his sentence, a flaming spear suddenly appeared from the ground behind him and stabbed him from his back, right through his front chest.
"Khali!!" The Black Wolf who was also surprised with the sudden turn of event, rushed to the man side while releasing it's aura, searching who was responsible for the attack.
"Haha, Die you lowly being!" Suddenly an imaginary shadow was appeared, forming an image of half of the head of The Phoenix.
"At first I planned to use the millions souls that I captured to gain the power and turned into ancestral phoenix.
But because of you lowly human, all of my plan is ruined.
So, rather than letting this souls go to waste, I used it to summon that Hell Spear to kill you too, so we could go to hell together. Haha" Hearing The Phoenix words, The Black Wolf was angered. It finally know why it and Khali couldn't feel the spear before it attacked.
It was because this damned spear was a forbidden treasure!
What's a forbidden treasure? It was a treasure that was summoned by a sacrifice, and the higher the sacrifice is, the stronger the treasure that would be summoned. And apparently, The Phoenix sacrificed the millions souls that it collected, to summon the Hell Spear.
Under the power of the millions sacrificed souls. The Phoenix commanded the spear to attack Khali in a one quick full-strength attack, and successfully caught him off-guard.
Angered, The Black Wolf roared "You damned bird! Go to hell alone!"
The Black Wolf then opened it's mouth, and shot a black fireball from it's mouth to The Phoenix's soul.
Hit by the black flame, The Phoenix's soul then scattered it into the thin air, but before it vanished, it laughed loudly "Haha, see you in hell lowly human!"
After that, The Phoenix's voice was slowly vanished.
Seeing The Phoenix was no more, The Black Wolf then looked at Khali and examined his injury.
"Damn it, it's pierce through the heart." looking at the position of the spear, The Black Wolf knew that it was a mortal injury and Khali's chance of survival was so small. And included the fact that none of them had the ability to cure such injury in a short time, the chance of survival was close to none.
Khali looked at the tip of the spear that was coming out from his chest, and realized that there was no hope for him.
Looking at the brother of him, he just calmly said "Brother Black, don't be sad. Being together for this long as your brother is something that I am grateful of. I just hope in the next live, we could be brothers again."
Although he was facing his death, Khali didn't feel fear nor regret to die beside his brother. What he felt was only peace and serenity.
Dying, Khali's memories of his past was flashed back in his mind.
He remembered when he was a young loner once.
For so long before he met The Black Wolf he was a loner with no one but himself in this world.
He survived for himself, he became strong for himself, and he thought he would die also for himself.
But then, when he accidentally met The Black Wolf. He saw something familiar in its eyes.
Something that was similar with him.
And that was loneliness.
"Hey, don't you feel lonely to be alone all of this time? Come with me, I know a place with good foods."
That sentence was the start of everything.
Their Journey.
Their friendship.
And their brotherhood.
Seeing the pale expression of Khali, The Black Wolf, for the first time in his millions years of life, felt that it would lost something precious in its life.
In depression, The Black Wolf looked around when it suddenly saw a small red blood nearby, and remembered about the blood essence of phoenix.
Using the blood essence of phoenix without the consent of Heaven and Earth would result in punishment that wasn't light at all.
But, without using this blood means that Khali would die.
"No matter what punishment we will get after this, at least I'll not let you die in front of me now!"
Resolved its will, The Black Wolf brought the blood into Khali's mouth.
Khali who was in the verge of dying, suddenly felt a warm liquid inside his mouth and reflexively swallowed it.
Seeing the blood was consumed by Khali, The Black Wolf then controlled the Heavenly Energy in the surrounding air, and poured it to his body to give him time digesting the blood. it didn't used its own Heavenly Energy as it was afraid that it would corrupt the blood and affecting the blood power.
Khali himself didn't know what The Black Wolf did, he only felt that the warm feeling was spreading to all of his body. But at the same time, he felt that his consciousness was gradually fading.
If Khali was dead after his body digested the blood completely, then there was a chance for him to survive by being reborn from his ashes, just like a phoenix.
But if he died before it was done, then everything was for naught.
It was a time race with death!
