my mother help me and my brother pack, even though I don't know whats going on i still followed my father's instruction.
i think my parents are acting weirdly is because of the large changes in our body, i thought its a strange kind of mutations.but looking how my father act's. i have my doubts
i wore a robe given to by mother, i grab all of my things and follow my family to the roads. on the way i saw familiar face's, but to my surprise there skin is the same with us
"what's going on, father?" i ask thinking what is the reason for all of this "i can't answer that now sweetheart, just follow us for now" my father said while looking around
its currently 3:00 pm so almost all people are sleeping in there houses. we walk the dark street until i saw the gates leading outside of the fortress called safehaven. we stop for a while.
"where are the others?" my father ask a man that has just arrive.
"they will arrive shortly" the man answered
i really want to ask something, but seeing Darwin did nothing but to follow and didn't try to said anything. i stopped myself
few more minutes later more of our groupmates before has finally arrived
they are all covered by robes
"lets go"my father said softly while grabbing Darwin's hand. we walk to the gates. where two evolutionary warriors are guarding the it
in the top of the gate are man with binoculars, he also have a large bell beside him, he seems to be the look out for possible attack from monsters
"please stop where you are!!!, state your reason for going out in this time of the nigth."the guard yelled after seeing us walking closer to the gate.
"hello my friend, we are just going to travel to a sector to the north" my father yelled to the guard
"is that so, hmm... well there are no rules saying that we can stop you from going outside, but atleast write your name before going out, and let us check your identity
"ok" my father said. as all the men on the group came forward,
my father slowly took off his hood ,but before the guard can react, a man from my group stab him with a kitchen knife in the chest
all the man in the group including my father rushed towards the remaining guard, "demon's!!!" the evolutionary yelled as he runs for his life
*ding* *ding* *ding*
the man in the top of the wall started ringing the bell
the gates was open by the group, my mother urged me to hurriedly run outside . i saw group of revolutionary running towards us so without anymore hesitations i run outside
some of our memberd was caught, but fortunately by father escaped and followed us outside and run
being pursuit by revolutionary its impossible for us to escape because of the limit of our stamina, but the strange thing is I don't seem to feel fatigued any time soon, from running away from the mutant human, even though long times has past.
after running away for who know how many hours, most of us manage to escape, my family is safe, im happy for that, even thought hos many challenges that came to us,we have manage to stay intact until now.
we have finally relax after walking for a while i look at my father ,maybe because of the things happened to us in the past, i seems to calm even though my body changed drastically and be question why my father tried to leave the fortress in a forcefull matter
"ill will tell you now also you Darwin please dont hate Father after saying this" my father suddenly said
in summarizing all he revealed to us, the meat he feed us ,6 days ago was from our own groupmate that died from starvation, because of our desperate situation my father and all the men on the group agreed to butcher the body and keep it a secret from the other.
after they came inside the fortress they heard a rumor about hybrids, that eating fellow human will turn you in one. hearing it they have there suspicions.
but after the first man of the group changed, most of the man who knows whats happening hurriedly planned the escape, good thing that our houses are near each other, so plan was executed immediately
i can't believe that i eaten a humans meat i puked for hours after thinking about it makes me what to puke more.
but even though what father did was unacceptable in a general sense, but he did it to save our life, so i didn't blame father for it
few weeks in the wild we discovered that every one of us have gained some unusual powers, most have power to create fire from nothing, creating some water, land manipulation,
my brother has a funny skill. that is to turn invisible for a short while, he can do it one's a day, i still remember the day that he suddenly vanished while my mother was looking at him which had make mother freak out from fright
my father had become more stronger compare to others, my mother has an ability to create flame, on the other hand I don't seems to have any special powers. even so i didn't feel sad about it.
in the forest we started to create a new home , we hunted mutant beast for food, and a house made of wood and mud for our shelter,like the old time
but i never have thought that, it will not last long. a group of evolutionary warriors attacked our camp , alot of people have sacrificed there life for us to escape
we manage to escape that but we lose so many of our member, we tried to settle in after running away but, after some short days they had found us again and we stragglered to escape once again.
in atleast 1 year that happened again and again until we found ourself reduce to 20 members . compare to our ability, there power is alot more stronger, there equipment and weapon is alot more powerful, compare to our's
why are they hunting us? why are they pursuing us ?, is eating a fellow human because of too much hunger ,a really great sin that they need to kill us no matter what? . we are not monster....
in the day me and my brother was caught because of my carelessness .my father and mother sacrificed themselves to save me and my brother. but only Darwin manage to escape using his invisibility skill
i was put on a cage with my mother and fathers dead body. i seeing them lifeless cried for days, and i cant stop to worry about what happened to my brother that filled me with sorrow
i keep asking the evolutionary what we did wrong they only answered me, your an hybrid and hybrids are meant to be hunted
i heared that they sell dead bodies of hybrids to the HEC and they can get double the price if its alive
so all of this killing is for money i look blackly to the hunters, we are hunter for 1 years just because of money?
with that my hatred for evolutionary has multiplied to many folds. but what can i do ,except to wait for my death
until i saw the hunters died by a hands of a young man "what do you consider yourself to be?, we both are blessed with strength that no human is capable of 3 and a half years ago,but we consider ourself humans beyond that,but the hybrid that only half zombie are not?, answer me are they not humans"
he said to the leader of the hunters
