Chang let Jian lead her back through the beautiful tiled room with the vaulted ceilings and pillars, and back into the brightly lit room in which she first woke in.
Liang Jian Amal looked in the room that had once been his mother's favorite, straight ahead lay the garden she had loved. Closer to the intricate relief than the center of the room was the bed, cut as a niche into the wall; where he had placed Chang early this morning. Looking over he saw the covers were still disturbed from her leaving.
Looking to the door on the right he saw that it was open, and that she had already found the restroom. Liang Jian Amal looked to the other side but found that she had not found the doorway on the opposite wall. There was only a faint shadow showing that it was there though, if you weren't looking for it, you wouldn't find it along the expansive smooth white wall with the blush of blue from overhead.
He reached out and smoothly pushed open the door to what was once Amira's sleeping and dressing quarters. Though he had been told by his grandfather that she had generally only used the one that he had laid Chang to rest on, that she had loved to be near to her garden as she slept.
The first room was a sitting room with a chandelier and several skylights that lit up the room brightly. It was opulently furnished, on the ground lay a large, intricate, cream colored rug with a massive flower mosaic woven across it in deep burgundy, gold, and emerald.
The walls were painted a deep gold while the several plush chairs and couches and chaise lounges were a dark crimson, standing out in contrast. A few glass tables with ornate delicate brass legs sat here and there near the sitting furniture. Against the walls were several huge mahogany bookshelves filled with books.
Chang would have loved to stay to explore more but Jian led her further inside to another doorway on the opposing wall. Inside was Amira's bedchamber, a large plush bed with towering posts sat furthest from the doorway. A large mirrored vanity sat on the side beside several wardrobes, that she presumed would hold the clothing, lined up to her right.
On the left Chang saw a stunning portrait of a incredibly gorgeous young woman. She sat in the portrait with an erect posture in a plush chair her hands folded neatly on her lap. She wore a long, deep purple dress with gold embroidery that ran along the front of it, growing more concentrated in detail towards the hem. On her head was a light orchid colored veil with gold beading on it holding back the majority of her hair.
The woman in the portrait had long thick dark bronze hair, thicker than Chang's, flowing partially over one shoulder, from under the orchid veil on her head, down to her waist.
What stood out the most besides her ethereal beauty was her haughty but tempered gaze, as if she could level mountains, but chose not to. The deep dark eyes that held flecks of gold in them, and full shapely lips that seemed to always hold a ghost of a smile looked familiar as she looked at Jian beside her. At the bottom of the portrait there were two words, Amira, 18.
"My mother." The man beside her answered, as if reading her thoughts.
"She's beautiful."
He gave her a small smile, "was."
Chang knew that his mother had died, but realized she had never probed further into the matter. There was so much that she did not know about Jian, and she wanted to know more.
"What happened to her?" Chang searched inside to find a way to broach the topic.
"I told you that she passed away long ago, but I guess I never really told you too much about her or where she came from, did I?"
"No, can you, would you mind telling me about her a little?" Lacing her fingers together in front of her, Chang looked up at him.
"I can only tell you what I know of her from what I have learned from my Jid, and my youngest uncle. My father very rarely spoken of her.
"She was the youngest child of my Jid, his only daughter after 3 boys.A such, she was spoiled to no end by my Jid as a result, and was far bolder than any other woman. As no one could bear to reprimand her she was wild and brazen, and would even go so far as to beat up her three older brothers.
"When my father came to visit the Republic of Lahat, to initiate a business deal, as reward for a service he did for my Jid, she fell for him.
"Not that I could see what she ever saw in him." Muttering darkly under his breath, Chang could barely hear what he said. Crinkling her brows, Chang studied his back profile as he faced the large image before them.
"My father completed the business deal with my Jid, and received an extensive amount of capital, enough to establish Liang International, Liang Medicine as it was then known, but was also forced to marry my mother as a condition that was added.
"A couple of years after the marriage, I came, but at the cost of my mother's life. I have spent every summer here since I can remember in the country where my mother came from. I learn a little more every time, so I apologize that there is only so much I can tell you. I have never met her myself so I can only share the words of others."

Hearing his words, Chang could feel her heart breaking for him at never having met his own mom. She could not even begin to imagine what it would be like to not have that presence in her life. Not having the person who cheered you on no matter what, nursed you when you were sick, and loved you unconditionally. She had received love in spades from both her parents, and could not understand that pain.
Her heart still ached though hearing that he did not even know much about his own mother.. Releasing his hand that had still been attached to hers, Chang gripped onto the sleeve of his collared white button up, urging him to look at her. With her other hand gripped onto her dress above her heart, Chang tried to quell the rising pain inside and the urge to throw herself right into his arms.
Feeling her tug, Liang Jian Amal looked down at her and saw her hurt expression, her eyes brimming with tears.
"Do not cry over this, please, it is all right. There is no need to cry over me, over this matter."
"I'm not crying, my heart just hurt for you." Turning her head away proudly, Chang stubbornly refused to let the tears out after hearing him.
Reaching out, Liang Jian Amal took her chin between his fingers and places a light kiss between her furrowed brows.
"Thank you." Smiling slightly, Liang Jian Amal looked at the woman who shed tears for him. Tilting her chin up, she looked right into his eyes with her eyes swimming. Unable to resist the sight, Liang Jian Amal gently took her lips with his. With his hands cupping her face, his fingers glided over her ears, to entangle themselves in her hair. Feeling her gentle response to his kisses, he deepened it further, exploring her open mouth with his tongue before meeting hers.
Chang felt herself becoming dizzy from the lack of oxygen, and her heart pounded like it would explode. But did not want him to stop. Every time he kissed and touched her, it felt like something would shift inside her. It made her uncomfortable at first, but the more he did it, she found herself not only accepting it, she had started to crave his touch.
Chang lost herself in his kiss and began to reciprocate as passionately. The hand that had been on her chest reached for his, clutching at it desperately, pulling him closer. His hands tangling in her hair and his kiss made her feel as if she would and could forget everything, but she did not care. Helplessly moaning against his mouth, Chang felt herself melting in his embrace.
Before she knew it, she felt herself slipping down as her knees gave out as she was unable to draw breath for too long. Jian caught her before she fell, chuckling at the sight of her winded expression. He helped to hold her up until her legs began to stabilize, the whole time she stared at her feet, mortified..
Chang slowly felt he face redden as she thought of how easily she let him have his way with her. The old man was right, she would be at this man's mercy, if she let her emotions sway her so easily!
"Uh I should go clean myself up", forgetting her original mission to get a change of clothes, Chang raced to the bathroom, eager to be away from him.
Liang Jian Amal watched her fleeing figure with bemusement, chuckling to himself. He watched until she disappeared into the sun room, before choosing some clothes for her from his mother's wardrobes. His eyes searched the portrait of the woman he had never know but felt close to, especially when in her chambers. Smiling he could not help but wonder what she would have thought of his beloved. Brushing his fingers across her painted face in farewell, Liang Jian Amal followed after Chang.
He quickly found her in the bathing chamber staring at the large bathing area with an incredulous look on her face.
"If you feel it's too big, we could always get in together." Coming from behind her, he watched her start a little as he spoke, holding the bundle of clothing in his arms as he smirked at her quickly changing expressions.
"Absolutely not!" Chang cried out immediately in response.
"Well you may say that now, but if you change your mind..."
"No, get out!"
She stood with her fists clenched at her side, waiting until he left. Closing the door behind him, she started to undress in privacy. She quickly bathed herself without fully filling the tub with warm water. Quickly drying herself off with a towel that sat folded in a stack nearby before approaching the clothes. She put on the panties first but could not find a bra, the closest she could find was a white slip that was slightly fitted around the chest.
Once she put it on, she realized it was tighter than it looked, as the material was constricting around her ribs and hung to her knees. Beside it lay a deep red long shirt, adorned with gold embroidery of lilies near the collar and the wide sleeves that came almost to her elbow. A pair of loose dark red pants were with it as well as a long golden sash that had a warping in the center, making it uneven.
Chang looked at the piece of long golden cloth several times trying to figure out how to wear it before tying it around her waist like a belt. She towel dried her hair lazily before coming out, ready to explore Lahat.
Jian sat on the bed bathed in sunlight, the warm rays shone on his beautiful bronze hair and skin, causing her breath to hitch in her throat. He sat almost still as a statue, waiting with his hands clasped together at his knees. Even just sitting there, he was just so breathtakingly beautiful to her. Hearing her enter, the man turned his head and smiled at her as she came out, reaching his hand out to her. Seeing him like that Chang could not help but to answer his silent call. With light steps she quickly went up to him, placing her hand in his open one, completely caught under his spell.
