Bab 20: The pet pig
"Master.." Shu Ren ran to the side of Rae Gu, pulling her up from the ground, he shove her on his back.
With the guards surrounding them, Shu Ren unsheathed his fiery red double-edge sword, and savagery glared at them one by one with a warning looked from his eyes, while his expression seemed to say 'don't ever dare to come near us or you'll die'.
Shu Ren moved his eyes towards the General, "We sincerely apologize about what happen, but I think it shouldn't be enough reason to have us arrested, besides, I don't want my master to see a bloodshed. So, please retract your order."
Trying to reason it out with the General, Shu Ren wanted to fix their misunderstanding in a more civil way without a need for them to clashed their swords.
Since, even as a beast, Shu Ren was morally principled and his conscience was clean.
He had never hurt anyone nor killed anyone just because of being mad at a little disagreement. So, in this kind of situation, he didn't want to fight it out for he might accidentally killed someone just because of this pety reason.
Still, if it was about the mistress' well-being, then that's another matter, since Shu Ren had already sworn to sacrifice himself for her safety.
But even if he hadn't committed an oath, keeping her safe and away from any harm would still be put over his shoulder to carry, since the Lord's safety was link to her wherever place she might be.
So, whatever happens now, be it to kill or be killed, his priority would be to stand on Rae Gu's side to safeguard her at all cost.
Rae Gu peeked from Shu Ren's back while moving her body slowly out from his back for everyone to see and lifted her expressive eyes towards the handsome General's eyes.
Their eyes locked and Rae Gu timidly asked for forgiveness with her puppy eyes, while bitting her lips naively."Handsome mister, I'm truly sorry, it wasn't intentional, Really!"
After saying her line, Rae Gu smiled demurely and made a cross sign on her chest with his right hand before she raised an open palm to swear her innocence.
But on her back, away from anyone's sight, was where her left hand was hidden. Her two fingers crossed as her inner self sneered and cursed at the General, [As if! that serves you right for being a snub. hmp!]
Acting coily, Rae Gu had totally forgotten that she was now dress in a male clothes and was pretending to be a man, so when the General heard the word handsome from Rae Gu's mouth, his body shivered violently when her love-struck eyes awhile ago flashed on his mind once more. This irked him to the point of being unreasonable.
"You think that by apologizing and pleading would save you after humiliating this General?" Fuming with irritation and rage, the General roared at them, he can't just leave them unpunished after being humiliated multiple times, else his mind won't be able to relax, "Arrest them!"
The roar made Rae Gu hide at Shu Ren's back again. She was very much aware that this conflict was all her fault, so she decided to zipped her mouth.
Thus, silently waiting on his back was the best for her, while Shu Ren fixed this messy situation for her.
"Stay at my back and don't speak." Shu Ren face turned dark, it seemed that shutting her mouth was the best way to resolved this situation now. Since, after she talked, the General had become even more enraged.
So, Rae Gu passed the ball to Shu Ren and let him settled this for her than having herself talked, or she might create an even more bigger trouble for them.
Besides, in Shu Ren awareness, Rae Gu didn't know how to fight, so it was better for her to stay at his back, so he could easily protect her.
Though, he had seen her leapt from the second floor to the ground skillfully, but he didn't reflected much further on it and just considered it as that she had learned a little knowledge about footwork in martial arts.
Since during the time, when Rae Gu was fighting with those assassins inside the dark forest, Shu Ren had arrived later than when the battle had reached its climax, so he wasn't able to witness her fighting.
Now that the situation has come to this, Shu Ren stand valiantly in front of her, ready to protect her anytime.
The soldiers slowly walked forward vigilantly while they unsheathed their swords.
Surrounding the two of them from all sides, the soldiers was just waiting for someone to initiate a perfect timing for subduing them.
"Can't we talked this out? There are so many innocent civilians around." Turning his gaze towards the General again, Shu Ren wanted to pound some reason into the brain of this unreasonable man. Since, maybe this General, would also not want to involve the innocent civilians in their conflict.
The General squinted his eyes and glared at Shu Ren, "If you come with us willingly then there won't be a need for us to resort into this violence. So, what's your choice?"
Looking around her, Rae Gu sighed as she walked up in front of Shu Ren. Raising her hand to his weapon, she pushed it down and let him dropped it to surrender.
"Master what are you doing?" Shu Ren looked at her dazedly.
Ignoring Shu Ren, She went up to surrender herself, "Take me with you, and let Shu Ren go."
"Master..." Rae Gu shook her head at Shu Ren, telling him not to fight anymore.
Besides, after experiencing how the people in this world fight and used their elemental force. If a fight broke out, it will surely cause a disaster inside the town, and this kind of fighting needed a huge battlefield, so there will be many civilians and their livelihood that may be affected, after their fight.
Also, Shu Ren was just sent here because of her, so Rae Gu didn't want to involved him in her messed.
The General smirk and command Luwen to personally capture Rae Gu.
Luwen bowed and cupped his hands after receiving his command and went to Rae Gu's side. "My apologies, don't worry our General isn't really that cruel. So, just come with us for now, and I'm sure he will let you go in no time."
Nodding her head, Rae Gu turned her eyes to Shu Ren and smiled, "Shu Ren, thanks for everything. You can now go back to his side, I will be find on my own."
After saying her farewells, Rae Gu followed Luwen without resisting. While Shu Ren was left conflicted on his spot.
But not even a five steps from Rae Gu's passed, Shu Ren decided to follow them.
"I will come with you." He quickly walked after them.
"Why?" Rae Gu was baffled for his decision. [Did Huang Ryu send him to protect her?]
"I can't just let my pet pig roam around without me, can I?" Shu Ren grinned and walked ahead of her while covering the back of his head.
"You! Stop right there." Rae Gu roared.
Seeing them both bantering with each other, Luwen shook his head.[It looks like we will be taking some kids with us.]
Luwen sighed and prompted them to go faster,"Go faster. We were running out of time."
Rae Gu wanted to smack Shu Ren's head earlier, but he was too fast to dodged, and they were stopped and asked to move faster, so she just let it slide for now.
Evilly Grinning from ear to ear, she decided to take her revenge on a later date by emptying his purse. [Pig huh? Don't worry I will surely make you a penniless beggar.]
Shu Ren suddenly felt a chill from behind and turned his head to looked around, but what he saw was Rae Gu's wide grinned.
Creasing his brows, his instincts has been alarming non-stop and felt very disturbed.
Shu Ren's instinct wasn't wrong since in the near future there will be a great calamity coming to knock at his doors, particularly on his pocket of income.
And it was surely caused by this smiling evil woman who followed behind him towards their destination.
After observing these two, Luwen didn't know if it was a right or a wrong decision for the General to bring them along and his currently having a bad premonition about this for the future.
