Bab 6: Scatlet Chapter 6 'Master'
This master of them was the one they give they live and death to, his life was once destroyed by them. And despite that, they were the one who shamelessly force him to live.
He hate them to the core, of course. They have to bear the consequence for playing his life, for forcing him live a life no better than death.
He take their name, use them like a tools, discharge them like a trash, their usefulness and loyalty was the only thing keeping him from killing them directly.
Scarlet has know him as long as she can remember, since the tragedy that happened 12 years ago his temparament was change to become the worst. But since 2 years ago for some unknow reason this situation has worsening, if that even posible.
He become more unpredictable, neglecting his own healt and interests, even disappearing for some time for who know reason to leave them with a mess.
It is really a headache for both of them, they rather he torture them like before than let them suffering for the reason they don't even know. He really don't even bother to make up some reason.
Well who make him the master, Scarlet just hope he will not getting injured like the last time, it quite a pain to assign the nurse for his recovery.
"What happened to Master?" Scarlet asked anxiously. What Scarlet wanted to ask was 'did he make some trouble again?' but she think that was stupid question, what else it can be? to solving the trouble that master make is one of their job isn't it?
Lyndel quickly recovered his calm once again, to not even be able to keep Scarlet from organization news for a day was one of his ten biggest failure. But..., to involve the two person he care the most in the first try... Wasn't the level too high?!! he is completely newby here!!
"Nothing..." he give Scarlet brief answer before focused to his phone again. "I will be there in two hours" he ended the call without giving the person chance to refute.
Scarlet still feeling uneasy, and the fact Doctor Rick and Lyndel wanted to keep her away from organization news is not helping at all.
"Lyndel just tell me!! I don't care about the organization, but master.." Scarlet said completely flustered.
"What are you anxious for? master is all right, he just give some task like always." Lyndel said uncaringly, and struggle back with Scarlets seafood porridge.
Scarlet have some doubt in her heart, but observing Lyndel for a while, she can't find any fault at all.
"Even if your brother is good looking, you can continue to stare after finishing your breakfast. Hurry up, the porridge is getting colder." With that he scoffed another spoon of porridge to Scarlet mouth, and she doesn't doubt anymore, or she just choose to ignore it, and let herself at easy in her brother protection.
Scarlet obediently finish her breakfast quickly without asking or making any trouble. She know Lyndel don't have much time to accompany her.
Lyndel don't ask about her condition either, Doctor Rick said he will tell him after breakfast. He nagging Scarlet for a while, telling her to take care of herself, be obedient to what Doctor Rick say, and promised he will visit her often, before left reluctantly.
He go to Doctor Rick room after that, but met Housekeeper Lawn instead.
"Mr. Lyndel please wait here for a minnute." Housekeeper Lawn said respectfully, while pouring a cup of tea for Lyndel.
Lyndel smile politely without answering, and Housekeeper Lawn left him alone in the room.
Doctor Rick 'room' is actually the whole second floor. He waited for a while before Doctor Rick enter the room with some document in his arm.
"Read it yourself." Doctor Rick said briefly before he gift Scarlets check up document to Lyndel.
What written in the document is not different from what Doctor Rick said to Scarlet but more detailed.
Doctor Rick waiting patiently for Lyndel to finished reading. Calmly pour a cup of tea for himself, looked really paeceful.
In the other side, Lyndel was far from good, his expresion become more paler for each paragraph he read.
He think he was prepared, but look like it was not enough, Scarlet condition was much more worse than what he think.
He closed his eyes, trying to composed his turbulent emotion.
"How much time left?" Lyndel ask with hoarsed voice which sounded exhauted. His eyes is still closed.
"With this pace she will enter coma stage..., maybe for 2 or 3 month for the latest. For what happened after that... I can't be certain, there is too many possibility." Doctor Rick shake his head, he can only know it when Scarlet actually enter coma stage. Something neither of them wish for.
"I understand, then lets not talk about that for the time being. First thing come first, about your research Doctor Rick... is the time enough?" Lyndel has already composed himself, he must be strong.
"Well, if I am in the right track, the problem is not only time." Doctor Rick sighed, how he hope himself right but wrong in the same time, but Scarlet don't have much time to wait for him to consider more possibility.
"What do you mean? I will take care of anything else, what the problem?" Lyndel furrowed his brows. There can't be any problem, I will not let any.
Instead answering, Doctor Rick just looking at him with pity and comlex emotion. Why this children can't seems to be free from the sin that they not even doing? or this is what people called karma? they have to reap what the older generation had sow?
In the end Doctor Rick only sighed, he seems to sigh more today than he did for a month. "Forget it, it is still to earlier, I will tell you later. Now you can go, I know you have something to do." he cast Lyndel away, this elder need some time alone for himself.
Lyndel give Doctor Rick suspicious glance but still he didn't ask more. He obediently rise to left "Alright I will leave first, please call me if something happen or you need something".
"Alright.. alright.. I will." Doctor Rick answer impatiently
Lyndel: "And if Scarlet-"
Doctor Rick: "Just leave now, this elder know what to do more than you, just leave Scarlet in my care, and dont be worry. I will not sent you off. Lawn please sent Mr. Lyndel out." Doctor Rick cut all the chance for Lyndel to speak.
He wondering how noisy a man that usually apathetic can be, but he is not in the mood to find out.
Lyndel: "...."
Housekeeper Lawn enter the room and they leave quickly after that. Doctor Rick leaned back to soft surface of sofa, while staring at the youngsters back until Housekeeper Lawn closed the door.
Honestly he wanted them to be free from the past, after all what the meaning to keep oneself tied in the past until they can't take steep forward.
They are still young, there are much more in their future. But he can only keep watching after them, after all is it not him who feeling what they feel. He will never completely understand them.
