Bab 192: not a filial daughter

Reeya stood up and with spiritless eyes asked, "Why didn't you tell me?" Her tone had anger and grief.

"Amma forbade us. You had your life. Ma had her own. It was only now when we were helpless that I called you. Your Uncle doesn't know about it yet." The words tore her heart.

"Your uncle is a normal worker. We couldn't afford her treatment." She said and left in a hurry. Her steps were messy somewhat shaky.

Her word held truth. Aunt treated grandma with respect. She was her mother-in-law, the elderly in the house.

"Cough...cough" A weak gasping came from behind her. Reeya got to her Grandmother and held her weak hand. A cold sensation stirred her. She didn't know what to do.

After a crazy bout of cough, Amma seemed to have calmed down. All the while she held grandma's, cold palm.

"Amma, I am here. You will get well soon." She bowed her head and kissed her forehead. A drop of tear landed on it.
