Bab 58: Chapter 58: Where Else Can I Put My Ring?

That day, when Ethan informed her about the collaborations between HL Corporation and WPE, she already had her suspicions of the two Devil CEO's relationship with one another.

She wouldn't have guess, even if you were to beat her to death, that these two are engaged!

Were they trying to hide their relationship by acting as rivals? Cause if that's the case, they did a one hell of a good job in acting that put even the A-lists actors/actresses into shame.

"Thank you for your hard work. You may be excused."

"Yes, sir. Please excuse me, Miss Bai." She bowed before leaving the two alone in the office.

When Yu Ming Lian's presence has left the room, Lillie gave a short Ethan a glance. "You have a good subordinate."

Ethan didn't reply, not knowing whether he'll agree or not.

"Would you like to tell me what happened in the Underworld now?" Ethan wanted to continue their discussion. Lillie was quiet as her eyes stared at the window, absentmindedly.

"Are you sure you want to go back?"

Why ask when my answer is a definite 'yes'! Knowing that his wife is White Bird herself, he could not sit still while she rules over the Underworld without extra protection from her husband, the real Red Dragon. He wanted to beat whomever made her worried and stressed into a bloody pulp before feeding them to Storm.

"Yes." He said without hesitation.

Then, without dallying, Lillie started narrating everything. From the moment he left until the day the fake Red Dragon came into power and began to terrorize everyone. She also explained how he was about to make HL Corp a part of his collections and on how he blackmailed all of his board of directors into giving him their shares.

Ethan was oddly calm throughout her story. However, the only thing he could not cover is the malice emitting from his eyes.

How dare that bastard attack my Lillie?! How dare he make her work so hard into protecting me?! I was suppose to protect her! Making me feel powerless, huh. Then don't blame me for being ruthless!

"In White Bird Organization, is there...a position open for a former co-leader?" If the position is in your heart, don't mind if I shamelessly occupy it.

"Hmm...you can be my left hand man." Lillie said after giving thoughts about it. Her subordinates are too many that she no longer know where to place them.

"Left...hand? Who's your right hand?"

"That would be Elliot."

Pui pui! Elliot? You mean Idiot! Why is it always Idiot?! Do you still see me as your husband, huh?! If people see us three walking together, other people might think that the two of you are the couple!

"Is there any other positions available?" Ethan was literally engulfed in invisible flames but Lillie did not notice because her mind was being occupied.

"Hm? What's wrong with that?" Her eyebrow curled in confusion.

"I'd rather be your right hand man." He grumbled childishly. A twitch involuntary started to tug at a corner of her lips.

"Aren't you my 'future' husband? Where else can I place my ring if not on the left hand?" Ethan's mood lifted tremendously and stared at her with wide, sparkling eyes.

"I accept."
