The next day, Makarov and I met behind the guild after we both had finished breakfast and had a light workout. Thankfully, no one else in the guild paid any attention on us so we were able to sneak away from the guild. Once we were sure we weren't being followed, I teleported us both to a secluded area for our fight. But not before I had restored his body functions to his younger self of course.
It was a rocky terrain that had no signs of greenery but we were not here for sightseeing so it didn't really matter as long as we were away from prying eyes. We both stood opposite to each other but there was a blinding difference between us.
I stood completely relaxed since even with just my physical body, I was probably too much for him so there wasn't really a need for me to be serious. On the other hand, Makarov was doings some warm up stretching with a serious expression. He didn't have the strength to be so carefree as I was and had to take this seriously. While this was only a normal match without any stakes on it, we both knew that this was a way to see how far Makarov have come since he began training and how we should train him in the future.
"Alright, I'm ready. Make sure to give me a proper evaluation at the end. I feel like I'm about to come up with something new so I will be trying to gain enlightment from this as well. Now, let's begin." After he finished his stretching, he called out to me before grew his left hand into his giant form while clenching his fist and sent it at me.
I decided to dodge first since I wanted to see how fast he is with that size and how flexible he can be. Apart from that, I also wanted to see if he can change the direction of his attacks fast enough so I dodged his punch by jumping backwards. His fist landed on the place I stood as the ground exploded due to the force. But we both ignored that and began our fight for real.
Makarov had already grown his right hand to giant form as well and he was using both of his hands to swing punches at me while I dodged all of his punches. His punches were strong but lacked any real speed. Sure, he was fast but not fast enough against the truly strong guys.
I had also dodged before he swung his fist to see if he could change the direction mid-way through the swing but he was only able to change the direction slightly to my position, not even threatening enough to hit me. So I had already learned that we need to work on his speed and flexibility while in his giant form so, so far it has been productive.
While that was his weaknesses, you can't say that his attacks were nothing. The force behind his attacks were much higher than before his training with me and his speed and flexibility was also much faster than before, although those two aspects were still a far cry from his physical strength.
After I deduced enough regarding his strengths and weaknesses in his giant magic, I stopped dodging and started blocking his punches. This was easily done by me since I was much stronger than he was so seeing this, he grew his whole body to his giant form and started to bombard me with punches with much more accuracy and aggressiveness.
While this indeed increased the amount of damage he did and his accuracy, it didn't change the fact that his strength was still below me. So it wasn't a surprise to both of us to see that I handled him with ease. But at this moment, Makarov, while still in his giant form, started using his second magic. Light spheres surrounded him before firing it as multiple beams of light at me which I let him land on me.
The light magic attack was enough to burn through my clothes and singe my skin a bit but that was all. It did no real damage to be honest and the only reason I let him hit me was because I wanted to see the strength behind the attack. Since it was much weaker than I anticipated, I added another new factor into his future training schedule. To help him increase his magic control and strength.
"Giant Wrath."
Suddenly, Makarov started to exude a constant surge of destructive light around him while he still kept sending in punches at me. This sudden light surge started to shake the surrounding environment and slowly the light enveloped everything.
When the light, which had temporarily blinded me stopped shining around us, our surroundings had been completely destroyed. There was a massive crater with the both of us at the epicenter of it. Makarov had stopped his onslaught and was slightly breathless but he was fine otherwise compared to the surroundings.
As for me, my top half of clothing was gone and if not for me using space to protect my lower half of body, then I would probably be standing here naked right now. As for how much damage I took from that, well aside from some scratches here and there, there wasn't much to speak of.
"Hm, not bad but still not worth mentioning to be honest. Now that we have seen what you could dish out on your opponents, let's see how much you can handle when on the receiving end." I spoke up after taking some moments to evaluate the damage he did with that attack and decided to test his defenses.
I started off with some basic lightning bolts that I made sure to fire at a speed at which he can just barely dodge, that too if he gives his all on concentrating. As I thought he would react to the attacks, Makarov began to dodge the lightning bolts and I just kept firing more at him.
He dodged by tilting the parts of his body that I targeted away from the attack, which was just barely by the way and this continued for a while until I started firing at his legs as well. This made him start using all of his body to dodge and soon he was starting to pant in exhaustion.
"It seems your stamina will need some work done and as for your flexibility in dodging, I guess it's passable for now. Let's test how you do in a physical confrontation when on defense." Saying this, I ran at him at a moderate pace and started a close quarter combat with him.
And I have to say that, aside from his physical strength, his defense was probably his second best attribute. His versatility came right after that in third but I didn't really pay much mind to that aspect and let him train on his own in his different magic.
Makarov had already returned to his normal size after the last attack so attacking him had become more easy. Even if he was in giant form though, I could still deal out massive damage. But the amount of attacks he took was becoming less and less since he was able to block more of my attacks the more we fought. This was probably because of the amount of experience he had and how well he was able to utilize it.
I decided to end this fight since I already got what I wanted, so I feigned a left punch to the stomach and sent him to the ground with a right hook to his cheeks. I had put quite the amount of force behind that attack so he was down for the count. After a while though, Makarov sat up and I knew it was time for another talk with him.
