Bab 402: Real Nature of Demons

He vaguely remembered the way and hoped to just find a safe palace for him and Mariz. There was no way those people would not drop them as they were dead weight. When he figured that there was nothing much to be done—neither could he see a trace of the rest; he decided to deviate from the route. If demons killed them, at least they wouldn't be fed to the blood ritual. Even if they were, at least let it happen in their sleep.

"Where are we going now?" Mariz hissed, still trembling in anger that she couldn't even touch a strand of that Noah Rocco's hair. "You lost the girl."
