Bab 7: Magic Studies
While guiding everyone and walking towards the mountains, Fox explained what he discovered about magic.
"I don't know about you guys, but the first thing I did after returning was trying magic. And to my surprise, I couldn't use magic on earth. If not for the clock I had, I would start to think I was crazier than I knew. Are you guys the same?"
"Yeah, I also tried to use it, but couldn't release even the simplest spell." Affirmed Kano.
"Me too, I tried to use magic to talk to my cat, but I failed miserably." Sighned Wolf.
Confirming his hypothesis Fox continue.
"However I've done some tests, and what I discovered is that we can't break what I call the barrier. Depending on the world there is a higher or smaller concentration of something, that I still don't know, that exert some kind of force around our body, like water when you go deeper, and blocks our energy path, so we can't make our energy leave it to cast spells. Our body is constantly under that pressure, however here that pressure is smaller, what allow us to cast magic.
And going by this idea, since earth has a high concentration and the energy can't leave, here we have a small concentration and can cast spells. In a place without any concentration, the energy would probably leave the body without our control.
So there should be two types of no-magic zone, 1 that a person with strong energy or knowledge can cast spells, like earth,and a place without any concentration, where only those with knowledge can cast spells."
"Where did you learn this?"Asked Wolf
"I bought some magic knowledge, and the rest was through deductions and tests. Also I have formulated theories about some happenings on earth, do you guys wanna hear it?" Fox had a lot of fun reviewing some world happenings, and was crazy to share his ideas.
Since they didn't have anything else to do, they ended up agreeing to listen to Fox theories.
"The Bermuda Triangle. As you know, there are rumor about lost ships, planes and other things there, also that there the compass doesn't work, why? My theory is that there was a battle, a battle between powerful beens. That battle broke the space around there. So since there are many connections to many places, the magnetic field there goes crazy. And people can also go through those spaces, so they leave this world to another. But I will only know the truth if I go there.
Another one that got my attention was about "Jesus". Turn water into simple wine, and dust into food. Have you guys noticed it? There are simple spells for both of this things. So why did he use his flesh and blood? Simple, just like us he couldn't cast spells, however he can use external means, and life force is the best source of energy. However you will grow old using it. So that is why he only used simple magic. But who was he? Since he always said that he was sent by "God". Maybe that was true, and some "God" sent him to earth, that would make him the same as us. However we probably have a different "God". But the motive for us here, and he there is probably the same."
While they were contemplating about Fox theories, They arrived at the bottom of the mountain. Fox continue to guide them to find a cave to pass the night and probably the week.
Luckily they didn't go far before finding a cave.The entrance was 2 meters high and had around 4 meters of diameter. Fox looked for trails from big creatures and snakes. But he found nothing, there was no trail going in or out of the cave.
"It appears to be clear, let's go inside"
Axe and John entered first,Fox with his friends were right behind.
Fox and Kano activated there flashlights illuminating the cave. There were two paths, the on to the right ended around 3 meters later. and the one to the left arrived at what appears to be a room. They decided to follow the left one and see what was there. Walking 5 meters in, the arrived at a oval room completely empty.
"This is a good place to stay, it's kinda clean and dry. And close enough to the exit to make a fire if the night gets cold. Did you guys bring any food and water?" Fox asked.
"We did, we bought 7 days of rations and water each. Didn't you bring anything? Where is your bag?" Said kano while placing his bag down.
"Don't need it. Want some water?" As he said that, a bottle of water appeared in his hand.
"What? Wait? Shit I completely forget to look for that. A 'bag of holding' " Sighned Kano.
"Me too, never thought of it" Said Wolf.
"Is that magic?" Asked Iris.
After explaining to Iris what a "bag of holding" was they started to formulate a plan. Fox recommended that they divide the group in 2, 1 will hunt some creature for diner, and the other look for a source of water.
While they were talking Kano felt something and said.
"It's wind here, don't you guys feel cold?"
"What do you mean wind? We are inside a cave" Said Wolf
Fox moved his hand and placed it next to Kano.
"There really is wind here, strange"
Fox got close to the wall and examined it.
"The wind is coming through a gap here, can you guys feel it?"
"I can feel it too. But we are inside a mountain, is there a passage on the other side?" Asked wolf after examining the wall.
"It doesn't appears to be thick, Axe try using the hammer side and break this wall. The rest get back and be ready for combat"
Axe got hold of his huge weapon, and got ready to hit the wall on Fox commands. Receiving the signal he used all his power to break the wall.
BOOM!! The wall crumbled in the first hit. After that a message appeared in the players mind.

Around a week ago, I had a problem with the Inkstone system. Due to the grammar verification system they use, some english words would mean something else in Chinese/Korean so the system automatically blocks the book. So until an admin comes to check if its ok, the book can't receive power stones nor does it appears in the front page when releasing chapters. So this last 2 chapters I posted, together had like 0 favorites and 10% of the normal views I get per chapter.
I contacted them, but after 3 days I got no answer, that was 5 days ago around Thursday, during the weekend I posted again asking for help. And even though I didn't get a direct answer they correct the error. So everything is fine now.
To look at how many people favorites your book, and how many views you get is really motivating. Even more when you are just starting and you have to few users reading you novel.

At the time we were searching for the cave I randomized the location we found. And as luck would have it, we had come to the premium cave, and we had only 25% chance of coming here since there were 4 possible locations. But it was not that easy to find the anomaly. I rolled secretly against everyone's perception, and Kano the person with the lowest perception got luck and succeeded in the test. Finding the anomaly.
I first thought they would need 5 days to finally pass the test, but luck was on there side that day.
