Bab 1610: An Unexpected Turn of Events (1)

"Who knows? I heard she's got people with power behind her. The warden would come and visit her once a day. But, I heard she's a murderer. I have no idea who she is, but it's odd. I've seen her once, she's young and pretty. What a shame."

"Thank you." Huo Mian took the fruit platter and placed it on the table. Behind her was the bed she had neatly made. She didn't feel like she was in prison at all. Other than being restricted to where she was allowed to go, everything was still the same as when she was free.

She was able to eat well and sleep soundly.

She took a bite of the kiwi and immediately felt nauseous.

"What's wrong? Do you feel unwell?" the female guard inquired.

"I'm fine, could just be the stomach flu."

"I'll go and get the doctor."

Huo Mian immediately grabbed the guard by the arm. "No, no, I'm fine."
