John's PoV:
I'm now five streets away from the mansion.
I went to every house in the streets to collect some supplies like canned goods or medicines.
I have collected like a lot of stuff that can be compared to a mall.
But since I have lots of teammates, I will divide all of the supplies I collected among my teammates.
As I was running on the streets while entering houses to houses, I suddenly felt a strong pain coming from my head.
From the looks of it, my contracted artifact broke.
Making a contract with an artifact will greatly boost its strength and effectiveness but it will put a toll on its user when it's destroyed.
It's more of a double edge sword.
Since I'm someone who has a lot of mental strength, the backslash of a contracted artifact will not affect me that much compared to others.
The defense artifact that I contracted with is at B rank so by making a contract, it is now at A rank.
Someone can't destroy it unless someone has an artifact that can match my artifact. I thought to myself while thinking of possible theories that might explain why it happened.
I've come up with several theories on how my artifact got destroyed.
First is the evolve is at least A rank which is impossible since it's still phased one in the apocalypse.
I'm exempted from that since I have lots of artifacts and knowledge from my previous lives.
The second is that there are lots of evolves gathered to destroy it which has a lower chance than my first theory considering people evolving in the first phase is rare and having lots of them is even rarer.
The third theory is someone who returned from the past like I did and used an artifact to destroy my artifact. This theory is the most likely to occur since time-travel is a rare ability that some evolved have obtained but it doesn't mean that it's impossible to get.
I'm not the only one who can manipulate time but I'm more knowledgeable and proficient in using my skills compared to the others.
You can say that I'm the strongest of all evolves. If I'm not, then my deaths would have all been wasted.
I observed my surroundings. I noticed that there aren't that many zombies near the mansion. You can say that the zombies must've noticed my teammates and my domineering aura that surrounding the mansion so they instinctively avoided us.
Zombies may not have that much intelligence but they still have survival instincts that are present in all animals.
I have arrived near the mansion. I saw that the barrier I activated which used to surround the mansion with a thin yellow light screen where nowhere to be seen.
I then observe to see any trespassers and I saw some familiar faces.
Speak of the devil, I saw the evolve group from last time.
They were at the convenience store to get some supplies but I stole all of the supplies from them so that must be the reason why they are here.
They must've searched every house near the mansion and they must've gone here so that they can have a place to settle and where they can find supplies and stuff.
I can say that the mansion can attract unwanted visitors since it can be the best place to stay like it can be your base or fortress. People can also say that there are a lot of supplies in the mansion since it is the house of a rich family.
People will be like; Oh hey! I saw a mansion nearby. Let's go in there to stay and get some supplies. All of the people inside must've been dead since they are just good for nothing rich people who flaunt their wealth.
Well enough of that, I must show my superiority so that no one will raid this mansion, ever again.
I activated [Time Stop] and then went close to them in stopped time.
While I'm in stopped time, I noticed that most of my teammates are outside the gate or near it. From the looks of it, they were going to beat the sh*t out of all those people who tried to raid my mansion.
I also noticed that my teammates' clothes are wrinkled and covered with dirt which shows that they were interrupted from their training.
They finally trained without me forcing them. I thought to myself while wiping my proud tears.
Feels good to finally accomplish something.
While I'm still in stopped time, I punch the stomach of all of the evolvers who tried to raid my mansion.
My punch somehow created a strong wind pressure when I punched them. The wind pressure was not moving since I'm still in stopped time.
The impact of my punch must be so powerful and painful. At the same time, I feel sorry and not sorry for them. They deserve it!
"Time will begin to move again," I said while snapping my finger.
That must've looked so cool but sadly no one saw that.
I saw that all of them went flying backward because of the sudden impact that they received.
Erick's PoV:
"Guffaahhh!" I suddenly cough out blood.
What the heck happened! We were almost reaching the gate of the mansion but we suddenly felt a strong impact hit us and then we went flying backward!
Why is there someone standing in front of the gate and he wasn't there, to begin with! It's like he popped out of nowhere.
Wait... Someone who suddenly pop out of nowhere, has pitch black hair, has an average build but looks a little buff, has a height of 5.8 feet and is wearing a black shirt and wears a golden chain necklace around his neck and wears a blue hooded jacket on top of a shirt, and wears a smug face.
That's John, Right?!
I thought he wasn't here, to begin with? Wait it could also be an illusion but judging from the strong impact we received, he's the real deal!
