Day Two…
~~*****~~
"What happened to Nathan?" Abigail asked Butler Li as they walked on the long corridors going to the guest room. Two guards were escorting them.
"According to Dr. Veronica, Master has a severe allergic reaction to peanuts that lead to Anaphylaxis. It is a potentially life-threatening allergic reaction that can occur within seconds or minutes of exposure to an allergen."
"Fortunately, Axel injected him right away with epinephrine and was brought to this medical facility. If it was not treated right away, it could be fatal to our Master."
Abigail nodded her head. 'Hmm, Now I know one of his weaknesses. I can easily kill him by letting him eat peanuts.' She thought to herself, her lips curling up into a satisfied smile.
"Butler Li, do you believe me? Or do you believe Chef Min's words?" Abigail confronted him. She wanted to know if Butler Li was on her side or not.
Butler Li hesitated for a moment. "I want to believe you, Miss Abi. But I still can't imagine that Chef Min would do something to harm our Master. He knew about Master's allergy. Was it really worth it to risk our Master's life just to get you in trouble? Is he that stupid?"
"Hmm. I guess he is truly stupid and just too full of himself. Or maybe, he is serving someone aside from your master, that's why he is confident that he couldn't be blamed for that incident. He has the guts to lie." Abigail sneered. She noticed Chef Min's and Veronica's exchanges of looks a while ago.
"What do you mean, Miss Abi?" Butler Li asked her inquisitively.
"Never mind, Butler Li," She simply uttered, lazy to elaborate her statement.
"Miss Abi, are you not afraid that Master Nathan would believe Chef Min rather than you? You should have said that you have forgotten it as an honest mistake. Besides, you don't have witnesses." Butler Li showed concern for Abigail.
"Hmm, I thought your Master is wise and smart. I will be disappointed if he could easily be deceived by this kind of scheme." Abigail said meaningfully. "Let's see how he will deal with this."
"By the way, your Master is careless sometimes. How could he eat food without checking if it has peanuts or none?"
Butler Li smiled awkwardly and said, "Honestly, I'm also wondering why Master didn't even check the food. I thought he would skip his meal again and ignore your lunchbox."
Abigail lifted an eyebrow and pursed her lips. "Butler Li? So you already expected that Nathan would ignore my lunchbox but still, you suggested it to me. How could you?" She crumpled her face.
Butler Li let out a soft chuckle, giving her a peace sign. "Are you not curious what made him eat the one you prepared for him?" Butler Li nudged her shoulder, looking at her teasingly.
Abigail was taken aback for a moment, wondering why Nathan ate the food she cooked for him. 'Does it mean he accepted my apology?'
"Butler Li, why do you think so?" she asked him expectantly.
But Butler Li just shrugged his shoulders and replied, "Why don't you ask our Master himself… once he wakes up?"
Abigail just rolled her eyes skyward. Butler Li seemed to enjoy this situation.
Little did they know Nathan ate the food because of the note Abigail put on the lunchbox. Abigail just wrote two simple words.
[ I'm Sorry. ]
It reminded him of his own self. Whenever he would try to apologize and pacify Monica after their arguments, Nathan would always send her food with a simple note like this.
Because of that, he let his guard down, not checking the food. Furthermore, the food tasted delicious which surprised Nathan. He had never expected that the woman could cook.
He almost finished them if not for him suddenly feeling dizzy and nauseated. He stood up to get some water when he suddenly fainted. He was rushed to the medical facility right after.
Shortly, he regained his consciousness and ordered Axel to bring Abigail for questioning. But due to his weak body and medication, Nathan drifted off to sleep. Veronica advised them not to disturb Nathan and just let him sleep.
She thought she could do anything she wanted and punish the woman responsible for this incident. But she miscalculated something. Abigail was very close to her nephew!
Abigail and Butler Li just reached the guest room where she would be locked up for the meantime when she asked him another question.
"Do you know where Nathan is being treated right now?" Abigail planned to make a way to visit Nathan and see his current condition without the knowledge of Axel and Veronica. She just discovered that Veronica was the head managing this facility.
'I must talk to him alone. I don't want his subordinates to influence his decision,' Abigail thought to herself. 'Might as well visit my own body.' She knew that her body was being kept somewhere in this facility.
"This is the right wing. I think Master Nathan is resting on his main chamber located at the left wing of this building. You can see the only golden entrance door," Butler Li whispered, sharing this important information with her.
Abigail's lips twitched fighting a smile. She couldn't believe that Butler Li was easily feeding her information related to their Master. What if she truly had ill-motive towards their Big Boss and was trying to kill him? How could Butler Li share his location with her?
"Butler Li, why did you answer me that easily? Are you not afraid that I might harm your Master again?"
Butler Li just let out another chuckle. "Miss Abi. Lots of security cameras are scattered around. Aside from that, this area is heavily guarded, including the Master's chamber. And I don't think you can go out as you will be locked up in the guest room."
Abigail smirked when she heard that. "Do you wanna make a bet with me, Butler Li?"
Butler Li looked at her with amusement. 'Is she serious?'
"What kind of bet, Miss Abi?"
"That I can visit your Master without getting caught by the cameras and the guards," Abigail said confidently, challenging Butler Li.
"Hmm. Alright, Miss Abi. It's a deal. If you can make it, I will fulfill three wishes of yours!"
"Only three?" She complained.
"Okay. Make it five then!" Butler Li scratched his face.
"Deal!" Abigail winked at Butler Li, smiling broadly.
