Charlotte exhaled deeply as she pressed Sebastian's doorbell, hoping against hope that he'd answer despite his warning that he'd be away. This was their supposed last date, and she couldn't wait to speak her mind.
She had forgotten her phone in her haste, so calling wasn't an option.
"He said he is done but the passcode's still the same," she muttered, entering the house.
As she stepped inside, memories flooded her mind.
A sudden noise from the side of the house shattered her reverie.
"Mr. Sebastian?" she called out, her voice laced with concern, as she walked toward the sound.
Sliding open the glass door to the recreation room, Charlotte's eyes widened. This part of the house was unfamiliar, but her gaze zeroed in on Sebastian's slippers beside the swimming pool.
