Well, i introduce a long sword and making Lyrium chooses the long sword because it is the only one compatible with a powerful sword art that will be introduced at Chapter 8. This specific sword art can only be mastered and executed using the long sword, making it a crucial part of the Lyrium's Growth
The sword was gigantic, even the size of the sword was larger than Lyrium's body, not only his body, the sword was actually ridiculously big and long. Even though the size was big, it's weight was very light to Lyrium.
