I'm not English, but in most if not all the novels I've read, authors didn't use the negative of the positive (wasn't like), but used something like "was different than". I'm not sure.
As the situation wasn't like a few years back and they actually had permission to make a ship and set sail, they decided to come up with an actual blueprint for it first.

I'm sorry but this is not for me. It's only my taste, the writing is good for what matters. This chapter's less vague than the start, but I can't comprehend the MC character, like why he do something, what he want to do. Yes, he want to protect himself and his bloodline, but why is it so? Can't he survive for himself and be neutral or take the good guy's part?
A bit rushed kind of chapter. The writing style is a medley of epic and mysterious, but it give a bad taste of nothing said. But I'm curious if it's your writing style (if so, it's interesting but, like I said, it is a bit too much vague. Well, for me, at least) or if after a bit, you'll slow down.
