Nigel has always been a sickly child, born in the year 617 of the great Beruvuan Era he was one of five children born in the Belling household, a depleting noble house in the kingdom of Denta. From the day he was born his parents and the midwife had noticed his weak body, growing up he faced discrimination and scorn from some of his family members. But things would change when a great storm approached their city and his family left him behind. Facing the oncoming storm Nigel strangely felt drawn to it and when the storm arrived he passed out. Waking up to a destroyed city,healthier body and a dark secret, with the discovery of his "Gifts" Nigel goes on a journey of self-discovery, while also rediscovering the world around him.

After his fall from grace, Josh lived the life of a drunkard until he stumbled upon a dying old man in an alley on his way home, after a few days of nursing the old man the old man passed away but before his death he whispered a few words "Return to the alley and find the key." With that sentence he died, leaving Josh to contemplate the words. What he did not know was that by saving the old man he had placed his life in danger, join Josh as he navigates his way to the truth about the old man and the forces after him.
