Maybe you could just seperate them and only send MC to tutor Eris. It could even happen earlier than in canon. Then boom they do different things after the teleportation disaster. I think you’re handling it great so far.

You’ve been crushing it so far. I think your flashbacks have been refreshing. I don’t feel like you have been retconning his abilities or anything else so far. It’s also nice to read a ff with the mc already at a high level for once. If you want to restart the story with a younger mc it’s your choice, but I like it as is.
Mortal - theft (stealing important gu mid battle would probably throw off so many people) Immortal - luck -I don’t see how any gu masters of the same rank would be able to deal with someone that is competent and could manipulate luck during a fight.(Maybe information path but I can see luck interfering)
