Decimation, also known as M-Day, was a cataclysmic event that reduced the already small mutant population to only 200 survivors. Since that day, no new mutants had been born, plunging the mutant community into a dark period of despair and uncertainty. However, this tragedy was not destined to last forever. Visions and prophecies began to emerge, predicting the birth of a messianic mutant, a being destined to break the curse and lead the mutants into an era of glory and renewal.
