Interesting enough story so far, but sure as hell not worth $45/month for 10 extra patreon chapters
Interesting read so far, and though some of the plot is far-fetched (read as protagonist plot armor) its a story for fun, so oh well. My only gripe, as of chapter 30 or wherever I am, (and a relatively minor one at that) is the fact that the mc smokes, and around his pregnant wife at that. I can understand that people smoked frequently in that time period, but this is a modern man, who understands the importance of keeping a healthy body, and should also know the detriment of smoking near a soon to be born child. Even worse, considering filters on cigarettes 120 years ago are nowhere as good as today. Minor thing all told, just bugged me.
Thanks for the chapters; however, it might just be me, but I feel like the translation quality went down.
Nice chapter, I like how you humanized his mother. While she is certainly not a "good" mother, she also was dealt a bad hand.
Lol, good thing I'm my own boss. Though lets hope the anonymity of the internet holds. There will be some akward conversations with my people otherwise.
Honestly, might be the best Harry Potter ff I've read, and I've read a lot. I actually was late to a meeting I was running because I got too caught up in the story. Did feel guilty as hell making up excuses about traffic, haha. I'd sign up for a reasonablly priced patreon as well. Hopefully the author doesn't drop.
Overall was an interesting story, but the inconsistencies with MC "character development" seem overboard, and had me lose interest. Without spoiling too much, chapter 27 was too much. MC goes on and on about not wanting to be referred to as a monster, and lo and behold acts like a monster.
Oh, lol. Appears author removed his comment. Well I don't mind, just thought I'd offer constrive criticism. I was genuinely confused, when I posted my comment.
Pretty good so far (I'm at chapter 8), nothing super novel (pun intended), but translation (atleast I'm assuming) is good. As a (mostly likely) Chinese translation, there are inevitably some China this and China that sentences, but certainly on the tame side (hence far). Of course considering this is about a Chinese student learning Japanese and studying abroad in Japan, it's alright to overlook a little bit, considering it must have been hard to get past the censors, lol.
