Yes, I keep this in mind, a reincarantor in Mushoku is a bit special in various ways, because his soul is foreign.
Of course, there would be good reasons behind the MC’s progression. He would never do something like wasting most of his time being a tutor for Eris or Sylphy when anyone could do it (after making connections and influencing them), and he can earn money in other faster ways like creating large statues for rich nobles using Sauros’s recommendation, duplicating expensive ceramics with earth magic or restoring limbs with chantless healing magic for big money. Using gold, he can hire Saint rank magicians temporarily for a simple demonstration. But it can be even simpler. All he needs to do to get his magic skills up to Saint and King rank is become affiliated with a kingdom, just like Roxy did. Using Sauros, it can be the Asura kingdom, using Roxy, it could be the Shirone kingdom; he’s a valuable talent that any facation would invest into. Visiting the University for a year and convincing the principal to share Saint rank magic with him (with reasons or threats) is also possible, but there’s no need. | And meeting Eris 2 years earlier would certainly at least help her become stronger as a swordsman and a magician; personality wise, I plan to make her more bratty and *stupid* since she’s younger, and still violent. There’s a chance for development in the future, but I don’t think I would change it much apart from her growing a bit more reasonable sooner and wanting to imitate Seraph somewhat. BTW, here is a picture of 5 YEAR OLD Eris; she was already like this 2 years prior :D. She’s hopeless. (That’s Roxy taking up the request to tutor Eris before coming to Buena village, for which she was rejected by Philip before she even met Eris.)

Not defending Paul, but I've seen way worse parents in real life
Paul frowned. His eyebrows were tightly kneaded and he looked conflicted. After being silent for a few seconds, he eventually said, "Explain to me what happened."

If there was no Mana Disaster, there would be a good reason, because there needs to be a very good reason for it to happen in the first place. Because we have the MC as a blonde, it is a different Mushoku world. But most importantly, the MC and Nanahoshi are from completely different Earths and time periods - MC and them could have not been summoned to this world the same way, since they were in completely different locations. If the MC was summoned by the same person as Rudeus and Nanahoshi were, then there would be no reason for Nanahoshi and the disaster to be there, and the underlying plot behind MC's summoning could be different. The only way that it could happen is if the MC was thrown 'into the novel' by some ROB instead, which is not impossible for simplicity. It could be solved like this or left unexplained. But the major problem I have with the Mana Disaster is that in his pursuit of knowledge and growth, the MC would eventually make so many changes in fate that if I want to stay logical and true, it would be inevitable that the Mana Disaster must happen so early that it would mess up the entire story. Fanfic authors normally ignore it, I believe, but since I know this, and my MC would also know about this and adjust his actions accordingly while keeping this in mind, I can't ignore it anymore. Alternatively, the existence of the orb would force the MC to give up on optimal moves and on advantages like learning high-rank magic early or recruiting other schools' sword tutors to stay low, but it feels even worse. | If instead there was no orb, which is perfectly justified, then the MC could move uninhibited without a worry and without holding back, and make full use of this time while thinking of the future. For the disaster to happen as scheduled, I can only include a divine intervention of ROB visiting the MC to inform him that he can go all out because he will delay the disaster to make things 'more interesting', but it sounds a bit like bullshit that it is XD
Syl*PHI*ette. Her father adressed her as Phi in *Lightnovel*. A bit weird, I agree.
"Ah, thank you, Phi, as always. Did you get bullied again today?"

I think perhaps this quote might be more true in regards to power handed in by someone, like a subordinate gaining power from their lord - he was given this power for a reason, to uphold justice or to fulfill his duty, but as his power increased, so did his responsibilities and he holds more lives in his hand; if he abuses his greater power or makes major mistakes, there would be heavy consequences. Then I can totally see this quote being seen - for example, a king telling his knights that he can grant them power, but with greater power comes great responsibility etc.
Something along the lines of: with great power comes great responsibility.

It came in as a side-effect. He simply did the simplest thing and heroically chased away the bullies by throwing some magical water at them. Apart from that, he saw it that are no demerits in it, and only merits if he's judged as going overboard, since all this time he might have appeared too adult-like.
Me making some blunders would only allow Paul to act out his role as a father more, which is something that he was unsatisfied with in the original story.

He isn't even that bad as a father, to be honest. He hit Rudeus, then regretted it, because Rudeus literally talked back to him like a smartass and triggered him; and Rudeus has very a punchable face and smirk anyway, as it was proven many times in the novel LOL.

Yep, I think because the other sons had to be sent away, Eris was always raised being very spoiled. It's only later when Philip noticed there was a problem, but it was too late :D
